I wish Nickelodeon would just use their whole catalogue. One of the things I loved about Nick back in the 2000s was that they showed the old and new shows so everybody got to watch what they wanted for the most part.

Max & ruby always had parents I remember some episodes where ruby would step into a room and ask her mom or dad something you would never hear their voice or face just the lower half of their body and neck so we could see them nod 😂😂

As an AVID spongebob fan, The patrick star show confuses me, since two of the main characters are Patrick's parents, yet they look NOTHING like how they appeared in the main Spongebob show. Also, Spongebob has a VERY different arstyle now from before. Everything is very "Gummy" now and the characters' expressions are toned up to a 20. It's weird. I liked the old animation style better.

I find myself missing the old Nicktoons shows of the 2000s more tbh. Like All Grown Up, My Life as a Teenage Robot, and ATLA.

I absolutely miss the 90's and early 00's era of Nickelodeon and when Nicktoons were honestly still BIG. Man I remember ahead of it's time Rugrats, Hey Arnold and Ren and Stimpy were!

The last time I watched Nickelodeon was when they had Rise of the TMNT. I grew up with 2012, but after both shows ended, I left the network and moved to streaming. Although I'm currently in a lot of fandoms. Ninjago, Monkie Kid, TMNT, Star Wars, Marvel, DC, and a lot of anime.

And I thought new nick was weird…. The new loud house scares me😭

As someone who was there when ATLA was happening, can confirm it was amazing. I remember being a curious 11-year-old sitting in my grandma's room using her TV to watch this interesting new premiere called "Avatar" at like 8pm on a Friday night, and once I saw that girl moving a fish out of water I was hooked. Then 3 years and some months later, 15-year-old me was sat in my aunt's room in the dark, using *her* TV to watch the world premiere of the 2-hour Sozin's Comet event, and I was losing my damn mind, jumping up and down, laughing and sobbing. It was one of the best cinematic experiences I had ever had in my young life. And it was on a TV that was like half the size of most modern TV's nowadays. Most other teens were watching something edgy or explicit back then, but I was just hopped up on ATLA.

Disney is killing it in the animation department: The Ghose of Molly McGee MoonGirl And Devil Dinosaur Kiff and so much more With Nickelodeon, they had good idea, but if you're not SpongeBob or The Loud House they cancel them before they have time to build an audience and when they finally do have an audience, it's too late and the show gets cancelled.

One thing that sucks about the new shows (take a 27 year olds opinion with a grain of salt), is that every live action show after iCarly that appeared on Disney and Nickelodeon was trying to copy it or make a show similar. And now with how popular stuff like tiktok, they just GOTTA shoehorn stuff like that in the shows. I feel like the magic of our childhood growing up in the 90's and 2000's if forever gone with the emergence of the internet and RU-vid. Children now will never experience what we experienced growing up. Childhood I kinda messed up the way the world acts now

I grew up with the Old Nickelodeon and Disney Channel, but also when Disney channel was Playhouse Disney. Anyone else remember these Nickelodeon shows: Danny Phantom, The Wild Thornberries, As Told by Ginger, Winx Club, Martin Mystery?

If they wanna bring back anything it should be Legends of the Hidden Temple and GUTS. Two of their best and most popular live action game shows that could encourage physical activity for kids. I’d watch in a heartbeat

I never had Nickelodeon as an option when I was younger(And the only Nick cartoon that I've ever watched was Invader Zim because I randomly found it one day), so it is very fascinating to hear about it from different people:D

I do not recognize this new nickelodeon at all , I mean granted I haven't watched Nickelodeon and Disney Channel in like idk since 2013 so I haven't watched either in 10 years wow time flies Lol

You also have to take into consideration that the main thing that Nick had was Dan Schneider. His shows were what made Nick seem legendary to us as children/teens.

Networks have gotten cheap and stingy, less creative, and really variety for the audience. Now days they are about to cut shows off syndication or streaming so they don't have to pay royalties and cutting cast salaries or number of appearances to keep them on the air. No one told all them to be greedy and compete with Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon and oversaturate the streaming market. Back then tv especially kids' television had variety and diversity (games shows, sitcoms, single cam comedies, dramas, cartoons) and didn't talk down to them but treated them like they were real people.

8:04 on that note apparently there a new twilight thing coming in too. Possibly a reboot or a sequel hasn't been said yet. We're really in an era of reboots sequels and kinda exhausting the see not gonna lie. And also I don't think they've ever air the new iCarly on Nickelodeon channel from I've seen but they have aired few eps of the new fairly odd parents live action show. Ps- The Lunar Chronicles slap so hard when I was younger. Oh my gosh. I adored that series.

I LOVED the Lunar Chronichles. of all the YA novels that were adapted into movies in the early 2010s, why didn't THOSE ever get adapted? I feel like it would've done well, since it combined three things people liked back then. (YA book series, Cyberpunk AND Disney Princesses.)

Yeah I really don’t keep up with Nickelodeon much nowadays. The eras I personally grew up on the most were from late 2000’s to mid 2010’s Nick. I’ve had LOTS of shows I watched and grew up on, SpongeBob, TMNT 2012, iCarly, Invader Zim, Victorious, Big Time Rush, Drake and Josh, Zoey 101, Penguins of Madagascar, Harvey Beaks, Hey Arnold, and some others too! One Nicktoon I feel is INCREDIBLY under appreciated and should’ve gone on for longer imo is Robot and Monster, I loved that show so so much as a kid! As for the fandoms I’m in, the main fandoms I’m in right now are Kingdom Hearts and Ducktales 2017!

I was born in 1996, so I grew up on Spongebob and the Dan Schneider shows, Ned's Declassified and Avatar. Hell, I'm even juuusssst old enough to remember All That and The Amanda Show (and Rugrats, as you mentioned). I was one of the biggest Spongebob fans as a kid, but I haven't watched a single second of the newer spinoffs because they look awful to me, as well as unnecessary. I also don't watch any of the live action stuff from them. I haven't watched much of anything on Nickelodeon for almost the last decade, and it's been even longer since I watched anything on Disney Channel. I remember liking Even Stevens and Lizzie McGuire and The Suite Life (both shows), but I'm pretty sure I stopped watching some time during Suite Life On Deck. As a final point, I love Zendaya today, but I didn't even know that she got her start on Disney Channel until a couple of years ago.

One thing I really don’t like is that some people will judge the new shows without even watching them, like with the new monster high show I’ve seen multiple people hate on it and judge it without watching it first and that is something that has annoyed me for a while cause like obviously you don’t have to like the newer shows but at least give them a chance before you decide to judge cause you’ll never know maybe you may end up liking it.

1:42 To answer your question: There is a reason as to why ATLA is still My, and many, many people's favorite show. I can still, to this day, remember watching the first episode the minute it came out and the months leading up to the premier. It's this feeling of nostalgia that is almost euphoric to think about. I'm 33 now, and I have every episode on a playlist that I binge at least once a month. If you like ATLA, I recomend a channel called "Overanalyzing avatar" he's a lot of fun.

I personally really like current Nickelodeon. Over the last three years since the Pandemic they've had some pretty experimental shows like It's Pony, Barbarian and The Troll, The Astronauts. They even brought back Nick News to teach kids about important current subjects, which i can definitely respect for being so blunt for a kids show.

The fact that they made The Loud House live-action ruined the entire comic book feel that it had.

I just got to your point about friends being on Nick and Nite now, but to be fair, it also aired on Nick and Nite when we were kids too. It was usually on after we would randomly wake up to hear the George Lopez theme song. That was how I was originally exposed to Friends. I never saw the show in order, and I always felt a little naughty when I caught a glimpse of it because it meant I was up much later than I should have been.

I still remember the exact scene i first saw of avatar the last airbender and the fascination and awe i felt when i watched an episode of book 2 after going thru the channels on the tv and how i kept up with the show after i figured out when it ran at 7:30 i think years ago.

This might be kind of a long comment but They’re making all kids of weird decisions. Few things that I’ve noticed.Since last march they canceled the 90s throwback block on teen nick and started airing jut icarly and Henry ranger with victorious and Sam and cat at 4 am for some reason. Then in November they started to only show Henry danger all day every day for 5 months with americas funniest home videos in between for some reason. Then this march they finally changed things up and started showing icarly again with wipeout for some reason and zoey 101,Sam and cat, victorious and even true Jackson vp but at 4 am plus they brought the nick splat logo back and a new afternoon program ing block. Now a few days ago they made the dumbest decision to only air Henry danger again as literally the only thing on teen nick all day every day with a few episodes of danger force. There’s shows like Alvin and the chipmunks, it’s pony and others only airing on teen nick no promoting of new episodes or anything. One show called warped jut came on and had a big crossover with danger force and 3 other shows for whatever reason got cancelled and fen though it just started. Almost every cartoon between 2012-2016 was canceled after 1 or 2 seasons so it seems they’ve cut back on that.Regular nick seemed like they were trying with effort again with monster high though and shouldn’t turn out like they’re version of winx and when Christmas came around they did a remake of an older movie. AtLeast when events like that or the kids choice awards they star trying with effort again.That’s what I’ve noticed in the past year.

For fandoms, I’ve been into The Case Study of Vanitas/Vanitas no Carte. It’s an anime about vampires in Victorian era France and it’s about a vampire who gets whisked into an adventure by a human who wields this all powerful magic book that cures cursed vampires. It’s very good if you like pretty boy/pretty girl anime characters with lore, fight scenes, drama, comedy, and lots of shipping fodder.

Latley ive been in the gaming fandoms(like Super Mario, Sonic, Legend Of Zelda, ect) but occasionally check in with some older fandoms from late 90s-2010s. I do remember when Nick, Disney Channel and CN where at their peak in popularity in the late 2000s-early 2010s. Also during that era Glee and Twilight where also massively popular as well. I still remember when Disney XD took over the channel space of Toon Disney and Disney Jr(former Playhouse Disney) took over the channel space of the Soap Opera channel(or whatever it was called prior to that plus Teen Nick taking over The N. A lot of other countries from what ive read are discontinuing Disney Channel and their sister channels cause of the rise of Disney Plus, havent read anything about the same thing happening to Nick and their sister channels(yet) as of now.

Just a few fandoms. I was formally a part of RWBY/Final Fantasy 13 saga/Various animes. Still am but not so heavily invested now. Nowadays im part of a very obscure fandom of a anime called Symphogear. Also got into Dr. Who thanks to my brother and part of the Fate Grand Order/Fate Series fandom .Not a major fan of some but i do enjoy discussions and the like. Thats all. 😅

Sadly,, I feel like a Fandom for it never really took off,, same with the darkest minds trilogy and the lorien legacies/I am number four series,,,, they were all so good and people really slept on them,,,, ooh, the darkest powers was really fun too,,, I'd suggest all of those to anyone looking for a good series to read (and Michael vey if you're looking for sorta pjo vibes)

I largely checked out of Nickelodeon when the rise of SpongeBob happened. I've gone back occasionally when they finally air a show that intrigues me--like the 2012 Ninja Turtles--but, overall, Nick is barely on my radar. When I watched, they had gems like You Can't Do That on Television and Pinwheel, and supplemented my introduction to anime from Speed Racer with Maya the Bee and Noozles. Plus, David the Gnome! Then they expanded their original slate to include game shows like Double Dare and Legends of the Hidden Temple. And then--NICKTOONS! Doug, Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life, to a lesser extent (for me) Ren & Stimpy, plus Are You Afraid of the Dark? and the comfort reruns of Nick at Nite! Also, honorable shout out to Eureeka's Castle (which is one of the few things tempting me to get Paramount+). Good times. But, like every other channel, it went through several identity crises to try and stay relevant to where it's now a former shadow of the channel many of us loved at various points. Honestly, I think their parent company has largely checked out of regular broadcasting in favor of developing their streaming offerings.

And lackadaisy is a slow moving thing being a webcomic and now with an animated pilot that was completely crowd sourced and future animations would probably have to be crowd sourced if not picked up by a soul sucking company.

Friends has been on Nick @ Nite for a very long time. For the record, I was born in 2002 and when I was a kid I’d fall asleep watching Friends. Sometimes when I couldn’t sleep I’d stay awake until George Lopez came on. There were a couple of times when I stayed up until The Nanny came on and that’s when it was really time to go to bed (it came on at around 4 AM). I think they just play Friends a lot more than they used to and instead of George Lopez and the Nanny they play Mike & Molly and Mom.

Spongebob is on season 13. Yes, they are producing new episodes but they come out randomly. There would be nothing for many months then there would be new Spongebob episodes.

The way I knew it was paw patrol and SpongeBob because I still use cable every now and then and I swear those are the two shows they air the most 😭 I really miss the 2000s era of nickelodeon when they would play old 90s Nicktoons and the “newer” shows like Jimmy neutron or my life as a teenage robot (and ofc SpongeBob). The 2010s icarly victorious era was so good it’s sad that these kids networks are dying 🤷🏽‍♀️

They literally gave up on showing the new generation WHY we all fell in love with them in the first place. Going to Nickelodeon now is like going to a wasteland. Nothing to stay watching for
