@@TheRetroFuture It’s in a G&W for the same reason that stores give free samples of foods they want to cell. Not everyone owns a Switch and lots of people don’t want to shell out $300 to $350 for a Switch because they don’t know why they should. Getting people to try a Nintendo unit with a coupe of Mario games for $50 might be just enough to bring the pressure to buy a Switch later.

I think it would be cool if they reproduced more game and watches in this way, maybe with other nes game together with the ganes and watches, but for a lower price, like around 20-40 dollars. You know like anumbered collection or something.

Or yeah, just have collections of game and watch games, one single scren, one multi screen, one wide scren and so on.

Well I don't know about the Game & Watch games in particular but this newly released Game & Watch has already been hacked and sooner rather than later we'll start seeing pretty much any NES rom become playable on this thing. The downside is it will require flashing the cfw on the board itself since it's not possible to insert an SD on this thing nor does it have internal storage or a way to transfer data from another device (the USB-C port is only connected to power wires, no data transfer wires). If that didn't require very specific hardware I think this thing would be cool to buy as a stylish, portable NES with the famous Nintendo build quality rather than that of cheap, Chinese retro handhelds. But since it does require very specific hardware, it's not worth it. As it stands it's basically an accessory for collectors but maybe in the future, with the help of the modding community, it can become a device worth buying to actually play games on. I'd seriously love to have one if that were in fact the case.

There's a bunch of Game & Watch games that feature Mario and sometimes Luigi. They could have compilated that it'll be miles better than this.

I loved the Mario Game and Watch games. Well, unfortunately they missed the opportunity to put them on there. It would be WAY cooler then the NES Marios that you can play already on almost every Nintendo console.

I think it's especially infuriating that there are a lot Game and Watch games that have Mario as the main character, including an actual Super Mario Bros Game and Watch game. But instead they decided to just put stupid ball on this thing!

I KNEW it was from Flipnote Studio hell, they even made the color scheme of the menu match!

Amazing, very difficult hack to play 3 nes games for 70 dolls... Cmon this thing is ridiculous, for the same price I play everything to ps1 on rg350m

@@JBentham1523 it's not that hard to hack, plus most people buying it won't actually play it. It's a cool toy to have to display and mess around to find the easter eggs.

To be perfectly fair, I've been addicted to mine and took it for a spin in my dentist's waiting room. Yes, it's a bit of a let down, but it's still a fun let-down. Lol

There's 4 game and watch gallery games that I know of. Game and Watch gallery 4 on GBA having the most games on it

4 game and watch galleries, 2 ds compilations, and 9 released on dsiware. yet all we get here is ball.

@@cober5768 there's actually 5 on GB to GBA, and 2 on DS. But the USA only got 4 on the GB line. A 5th was released on original GB in New Zealand and Australia.

Nintendo even announced this with all the details two months ago. Why is he even surprised about the number of games in it?

That'll be difficult considering the USB-C port is for charging only and has no data transfer capabilities... one dude hacked it a day before release, but he had to open it up and access a development feature on the pcb to even just display the word "Hacked" on the screen

@@endgel It has 1 MB, should be enough for a few games at least.

It's non hackable by the average people. The USB port has no data pin. Only power. The only way to hack it is by soldering to the flash pins and inject data directly. This is far from the NES mini where you just connect it to a pc and start a program.

@@chamoo232 Ah, gotcha. I just saw a quick clip of someone changing the title screen of SMB. So technically yes, but no, haha.

@@MezzoForte4 The one I saw injected a hacked rom version of Mario 1 but somehow the G&W still patched the year and copyright from another location in the flash memory. That probably mean that even switching the Mario rom for a different game wouldn't work without reprogramming the entire device. It's a shame really because I would buy it if there was a possibility to add other games.

On a separate note, it would take a dual screen device or a phone to play every Game & Watch title correctly. And while the Dual Screen Game & Watch was pretty nice, it would be considered poorly designed by today's standards, what with the exposed ribbon cable. Not exactly the best design to bring back in the modern day.
