GameFreak needs to do something like this with Pokemon, money would jump out of my wallet itself.

One thing they cheaped out on is the ”stand” clip they used to have on the backside... would have been nice together with the clock...

Imagine a Pokemon Red and Blue Version of these. I'd buy both in a heartbeat. I'm such a consoomer sometimes...

I really believe he's downplaying the screen. It's actually fantastic, bright and colorful. Maybe because I was expecting DS levels of pixelation but I was really impressed with the quality of the screen.

Seeing most of the NES library would be dope. I can imagine a Zelda 1 and 2

Fun Fact: Game & Watch: Donkey Kong was the first device to ever have a D-Pad on it!! (released in 1982, a year or two before the Famicon/NES) *Plus, it had a clamshell dual screen design!! (which inspired the DS)

Dude, thank God you do what you do on RU-vid with taking apart these electronics. I am literally sitting here staring at the tri-wings with my screwdriver set itching to open it.....you definitely saved my Game&Watch from my curiosity.

I have failed you many times by not clicking like on every video. Honestly, I don't watch them all... But I do listen to them all. I have youtube as my radio, and I've gone down the Spawn Wave/RGT 85 rabbit hole of fantastic content. Even with the audio of your teardowns, I've been able to pull apart 3 different consoles without ever seeing it done. Thank you for your time and effort, and know that what you do actually helps people make informed decisions, and feel confident enough to tackle some projects, while knowing when not to (personal weaknesses - soldering for me). When I hear your singular voice ALWAYS mentioning whether modular parts are there or not has saved me a substantial amount of money because I secretly nerd out with tech while trying to balance family life. OH wow, first thing I noticed different was yours came in see-through plastic, mine came in the white wrap like the PS5.

I grew up with the Game & Watch Gallery games on the GBC and I loved playing them. I wish they had put more games into this thing, I would definitely buy it

Everything from the build quality to the box itself just gives me flashbacks to when I’d get those little game and watches as a kid. Spot on Nintendo!! You know how to serenade money out my wallet.

The inside of this is built very similarly to how the switch is built, and even has some parts that are almost/the same as a switch. That's really cool to see!

The plastic slip cover is a nice touch. Aside from just looking really cool, it helps protect the box for collectors 👍

Game & watch games were not just popular they actually saved Nintendo from bankruptcy back then. Big thanks to Gunpei Yokoi for them!

Be nice if it can be modded later on to play say like the entire NES library.

Gotta admit, that's a lot nicer than I thought it would be. Screen looks nice, the animations for the clock are adorable, plus 2 1/2 fully functional games. Honestly, if I had an office with a desk, I would want to get one and fashion a stand for it to use as a small desk clock.

Out of the box when I started the system it started with a splash screen asking me to press time. The time then starts at 12:00. That splash screen doesn't appear again unless it's reset I think. Maybe someone took yours out the box before you got it for it to start at 12:15 and not get the splash screen?

That's peculiar. The one I unboxed came with a foam bag rather than the plastic bag you got.

Quality video Jon(SW). The New Mario Anniversary Game & Watch is tiny lol but I do really like the look of it and the Box is clever aswell, you can have it Retro or Celebrating Mario's Anniversary with the Slip-cover. All in all I think it's neat for the Price, I picked up Two lol, not both for me unfortunately, one is a Xmas Present for a Family Member.

I ordered one on Amazon day of launch. Then I wanted to play Mario bros so I pulled out my switch... and my 2ds and realized I didn’t need another version of these games lol. Canceled my order after that 🤷🏽‍♂️

It’s truly collector’s item. If an used switch lite could be had for less than $150, this isn’t worth $55 (after tax in ny)

mine came in the white foam fuzzy stuff that a lot of the switch components came when you fully unbox it, yet SW came in a plastic slip

Does the clock always go to sleep after a certain period of time? How long does it last with just the clock alone? Do I have to always connect it to a power brick for clock purposes alone? I plan to use it as a display clock for my entertainment center once I'm done with the games so I'd like to know first if it's feasible.

Fun fact: The games aren’t actually emulated. It actually saves your progress, letting you access world select by pressing B after you reset, and you can hold A when starting to get infinite lives.

I just want to know if it will ruin the battery if I keep it plugged in all the time and will it ruin the battery when I want to play it off the charger. I just want It to stay plugged in for the time to always be displayed like a clock

We had about 10 of these at the GameStop I work at, and they all sold within a few days. I don’t understand how people could spend $50 on a device that plays 3 games plus a watch. I considered purchasing it at first because I’m a Nintendo fan, but then I realized what a waste of money it truly is. Any modern smart phone with an emulator can do the same thing plus more. I guess this device is only meant for hardcore Nintendo consumers. Pretty cool that Nintendo released this, but in my opinion $50 is too much money for what the device can do. $30 would be more appropriate in my opinion.

Funny thing, when I got this at Walmart on Monday, I don't think anyone else bought any since they had plenty in stock. But since the Walmart I was shopping was in the deep country here in Wayne County, Mississippi, I guess that's understandable.

You should get a splash screen asking for you to set the time with a really cool wallpaper the first time you turn on your device. Either you cut out where you set the time to 12:15 or someone returned that Game & Watch that you got from BestBuy.

I dunno man, for me $50 IS breaking the bank for what that is.
