Grazie
Hello. Thinking of getting an NS-6170 and hook it up to my Onkyo P-3000R / M-5000R and LAN. Question is: I have a bunch of 11.2 MHz DSD files on my NAS (QNAP); would I be able to play them directly from the NAS, so without any extra PC or software?
If I have read correctly the 6170 can now decode Tidal / MQA files. I wonder wether one gets the high res informations via digital out? Plan to use it with an external dac.
What capacity via usb can the unit support ie: will it take a 1 tb portable hard drive .? Also in the display window does it show the list of albums so you can scroll down and identify which to play. ?
Hi, the colleages from customer care said that the following limits apply - hope this helps: USB Storage / HDD Device Requirements 0 Note that operation is not guaranteed with all USB storage devices or HDD. 0 This unit can use USB storage devices that comply with the USB mass storage device class standard. (However, there are still devices that cannot be played by this unit even if they comply with the USB mass storage class standard.) 0 The unit is also compatible with USB storage devices using the FAT16 or FAT32 file system formats. Other formats such as exFAT, NTFS, and HFS cannot be played by this unit. 0 If the USB storage device has been partitioned, each section will be treated as an independent device. 0 Up to 20,000 tracks per folder can be displayed, and folders may be nested up to 16 levels deep. 0 USB hubs and USB storage devices with hub functions are not supported. Do not connect these devices to the unit. 0 USB storage devices with security function are not supported on this unit. 0 If the USB storage device or HDD comes with an AC adapter, we recommend that you use its AC adapter to power it. 0 Media inserted to the USB card reader may not be available in this function. Furthermore, depending on the USB storage device, proper reading of the contents may not be possible. 0 We accept no responsibility whatsoever for the loss or damage to data stored on a USB storage device when that device is used with this unit. Hello. I'm considering buying the 6130. I already have a 9010 that I really like! My question is about the chromecast buit-in: 1) I use Plex to manage my music collection that runs until 24/192. Does the Chromecast Built-in accept 24/192 or is it limited to 24/96 as the Chromecast Audio? 2) The DAC of the 6130 seems to be better than the 9010. Should I connect to the amplifier via analog signal? Am I thinking well? Thanks!
Hi, the colleagues form the support team said that its the same as Chromecast Audio - 24/96, and that the DAC would not matter in this case. Thanks for asking!
Consider buying it but I plan on hooking it up to two monoblocks. How would one do that with the single left and right output? Does it have any tone control for the bass and treble on the analog outputs?
Hi, in this case you will need a pre-amplifier, which will offer all the controls you need for volume/treble/bass, etc.: source device (e.g. NS-6170) -> pre-amplifier -> mono blocks The NS-6170 is a source device only (e.g. like a CD player), not offering any possibilities to tune or tweak the sound (and not meant to do this :) Thanks!
I'm planning to buy Onkyo ns6170 to play Tidal MQA but I want to know if I connect this player to my Yamaha RX V 685 reciver but can D/A signal from Onkyo bypass my internal DAC if I turn on pure direct mode on Yamaha reciver?
Hi, this device supports Spotify Connect - you will need to use the Spotify App to stream music from the app the network audio player (no need for the Onkyo app in this case).
@@quinflint4619 Of course you can also connect to the coax/digital outputs, but some devices / amps may have a low grade digital/analog converter (DAC). In this case you may prefer to use the high quality DACs of the NS-6170, connecting to the analog outputs instead.
@@quinflint4619 Dear Fred, the C-755 is using a smaller form factor, to be combined with the R-N855 Network Receiver. If you do not mind the smaller size, the two CD players share similar specs. However, the C-7030 has a slightly better SNR (107 vs 105 db), a digital optical and coaxial out (while the C-755 features a digital coaxial out only) and supports WMA CDs, too...
