Where i blink and im now 48 saying “6 SB” cuz my goat coach couldn’t draft for 10 yrs and ppl make excuses cuz of “6”. Nah if it one thing my goat coach taught me. It’s “what have you done for me lately” and bill wasn’t above it. And lately he was bad. Nothing last forever. Not even bills greatness

To be fair it’s not like Bill would’ve finally decided to go all out on offense this year because the defense was set up. Bill is the type of coach to draft a future replacement for a guy that he knows he won’t resign, so even tho that defense is set up, he’d still find a reason to draft defense over offense. That’s exactly why he doesn’t have a job, he refused to get with the times and focus on offense for a change, defense doesn’t win championships anymore

@@jamesschenck3786 in the last few years Bill made a number of free agent signings: Judon, Bourne, a couple of TEs, etc. Bill’s drafting has just been horrid since he stopped listening to the scouting dept.

@@jamesschenck3786 defense will always win championships but they need at least an average offense. Bill’s fault the past 4-5 years was he wouldn’t build an average offense. He built an offense that was almost at the bottom of the league in every stat except turnovers.

Exactly belichick regardless laid the foundation for my patriots on defense now that nobody really left it’s good to focus on offense n now that we got what we needed on offense, whether it’s Drake maye or Bailey zappe, we’re in a great situation to Win

Most of their picks were offense because that’s literally all they need. Their defense was pretty good. Well Belichick was always a defensive coach too so that defense was always gonna be good when he was coaching.

We do have Christian Gonzalez, so I’m happy Bill got us him. Arguably, best quarterback in the league still needs to prove it though. Just go watch his first two games against AJ, Brown and Tyreek Hill though. Kid is freaking sick.

I love BB as much as the next die hard fan but you have to show and evolve with time and approach on things. 8-9 total rings with 10-12 SB appearance is amazing but you have to involve with time and understand where the game is at today. Glass we are heading with a different approach - Patrtiots have earned it and we should use that pass to build something great for a long term in next 3-7 years

As much as I hate to say it, Colin is abesolutely 100% correct here. As great of a coach Bill was, he was not very good at drafting whatsoever. Only time will tell what happens with this draft, but Eliot Wolf and Mayo seem to have the right idea here.

Not very good at drafting… Edelman, Gronk, Hernandez, Brady, Bledsoe, Mayo, Bruschi, and I can keep going… He was good at drafting. He just missed on first round picks a lot.

He didn’t draft Bledsoe, Brady was lighting in a bottle, he was an assistant coach for Bruschi so I doubt he had much say, Edelman was a late round pick that panned out. I’ll give you Mayo, Gronk, and Hernandez though

Whether you think Mac Jones wasn't good enough or wasnt given a fair chance (spoilers he wasn't) you have to admit Bill needs to be accountable for the decisions he made to set up Mac Jones. Everything in this video proves it. Hes still the greatest coach but whay he did Mac was sad. What Mayo/Wolf are trying to do with Maye gives me high hopes

Allergic to the diva offense. A bunch of mid tier guys didn't argue and will take medium money. And he spent money on defense always. An offense that can get a lot of chunk plays 4-5 yard plays eats clock. Football is built on time of possession and scoring 1 more point than the other team. The Patriots over bills career had 86 hours more time of possession than the teams they played which is a wild number a game on the clock is an hour long

Bill made a lot of dumb moves on offense and the dumbest one in recent memory was when he lit Meyers go and then signed juju for similar money. On top of that him and Mac had chemistry. Maybe if Bill keeps Meyers and drafts a talented WR or TE last year maybe he is still coaching in Foxboro!

For all the people claiming since the defense is so good that’s why they could go all in offense, don’t act like Bill would’ve finally decided after all these years to go all in on offense as well. Bill would’ve done what he always does and most likely followed up the qb pick with 4 picks that will sit behind players Bill is already planning on not resigning. Bill stuck to what he knew and that was defense, so just because it’s now set up doesn’t mean that he would’ve changed from his ways. He will always find a reason to go defense over offense

Allergic to offense yet last few years -> Thornton, Parker, Henry, Jonu, Romandre, juju, boute, Douglas, Zeke, Mac… possibly others I’m forgetting. Wanted Hopkins but Kraft was too cheap. Yeah most were a miss but acting like they didn’t make offensive moves is just biased rhetoric that’s not needed. The dude delivered 6 Super Bowls with 9 appearances. People cry too much.

Finally got Bill out of there. He couldn't adapt to emphasis on offense and Brady covered it up for years. The Moss/Welker offense 18-1 team was a great formula. They were 1 dropped INT from 19-0 and Defense was old Old with Seau,Bruski,Harrison. Bill abandoned that formula too quickly.

That formula won them nothing. It was only when they went back to defense first and less offensive weapons that they won, dominant #1 defense lead the way for their 2016 title, held Mahomes to 0 first half points and the rams to 3 point for their last title in 2018 and do I even need to bring up Malcom Butler for title number 1 of that second run.

Needing to score 30+ consecutive points is not impressive when you scoring 3 points in the first 2 and a half quarters is why it was necessary. Also, that Falcons offence averaged 32+ PPG that year, a all time great offence, yet NE held them to 21 points through *5 quarters. Oh ya and forced the game shifting fumble to boot

i’ve always said great QBs make okay receivers good/great (Tome Brady)…great receivers make a young QBs life easier (Mac Jones). Coach B never gave Mac Jones a fighting chance because he never gave him decent weapons on offense
