Hands down by far the most informative, answer all questions, no BS or confusing speech head unit tutorial I've seen. Thanks Dean. I've got the AVH-2300 and this really helped me fly through everything that is on the deck. Even pointing out the redundancies was very helpful reassuring me that I was indeed in the same setting as before, not a new discovery, just a different way to get there. Fernando, I'm sure you probably talk a lot of smack about Dean. He just edits it out. Sorry man. You guys are awesome. Appreciate all the hard work you guys do to pop out these videos.

So I installed the AVH 2500 on a 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE. I installed the Microbypass and rear view camera with great help from your videos. Thank You. Initially had issue with the powered amp antenna. Connected to Blue wire, no reception. After watching your video on antenna boost on BMW, it made me look more into issue. I contacted Microbypass and they suggested connecting to ACC wire. The HD radio picked up stations my stalk radio would not. On a side note, I connected my Sirius radio 200 version, works well, just. Some minor options not available. Did not know rear lines where adjustable, the Voxx system has lines, so not used anyway. Great work !!!

I really appreciate all the information, I am getting one on Thursday and it will definitely modernize my 07 sequoia with a broken tape deck haven't been with a aftermarket radio since I was a kid with 12s in the trunk

I wanted to get the 2330 nex but salesman told me the 2550 nex was the newest version of the 2330 nex I wanted. I did not hesitate to order it because I figured it would have more features BUT BOY DO I FEEL RIPPED OFF!! 2550 nex is smaller, no motorized screen angling to reduce glare, and no MIXTRAX. So why did I pay more for newest model when it seems to have less features??? Wish I would have done my research and not listened to salesman.

Bought this Pioneer AVH 2550Nex in Best Buy and have them to install it. There is very limited number of stations this box presents and no talk cast at all. What the heck? Should I give this piece back?

Had this installed for my C6 Vette - convertible. The only complaint is not being able to see anything on the display with the top is down. Is there a way to really boost the brightness of the display, otherwise, nice replacement unit.

@@Ianisatool like stereo a lot like having CD/DVD and CarPlay works fine but i use USB cable and drilled hole on dash for it and purchased cable from amazon looks like it was a factory USB plug have not tried BT for Amazon music just stream it with USB cable hope this helps

Recently had this head unit installed and had the XM Sirius module added on to it as well but cannot figure out how to enable the Sirius XM app even though it shows an icon on the radio. Any help?

What an epic and informative review. So much so, I actually purchased an AVH-2550NEX from my local shop based on this review. I did have one question - the home screen - how did you get it to change heights etc? Can you also change the speed icons on the home screen? I'll likely never use Spotify but I would like to add some of the other car-related options (like gas efficiency etc) from the iDataLink RR, is it possible to switch them out? Thank you so much.

I do. I’ve had maybe one issue with it in the several years I’ve owned it. No button problems or screen bugs but I have had one time where the car would start but the screen would not (but button backlight worked .. odd). Turned everything off, counted to five, turned it on again and it worked a-ok. Later firmware upgrade got rid of that issue as well. One particular annoyance is when I view the backup camera while going forward (something you’re not recommended to do anyway but I use it to judge car distance behind me in traffic) the words “Camera image is reversed” [or something similar] is plastered over the top bit of the screen but that’s a safety limitation. Otherwise, a solid CarPlay unit - haven’t tried Android Auto - and it’s been reliable and runs well every time.

So I got a avh-1550nex as a present and bought the maestro idata link kit. After it was installed I was told it is not Android compatible. I plan to purchase this 2550nex and want to make sure the maestro idata link i purchased will work w this radio. Help!? Please

I have this same radio, Just installed with Maestro Rr in a 2010 Tundra Cremax. The pioneers Aux jack is both audio and video Is there an adapter or cable to go from LG V20 to the pioneer Aux to play video from my phone on the receiver screen ?

I got this radio and it's good in every way except for the screen. It is unacceptable for a radio that costs this much. You can really see how bad the colors and text are if you use light mode in apple carplay. With how cheap displays are these days there is no reason it can't be 720p at least.

a 720 display would eat into their greedy profits, even thought a 720 screen wouldn't cost that much more to install. I'm more worried about the glare problem these stereos have. And it's not just with Pioneer.

So I just purchased this radio for my Tacoma and I got it all hooked up, for some reason my dome lights only work when the key is in the ignition not when I open my doors after the install. Also every time I cut my truck off it goes back to original date and time and I have to reset everything and reconnect the Bluetooth on my phone. Can someone please help???

Thank you for the very informative video. I do have one question. Does the AVH-2550NEX have dual zone control for play movies on rear monitor and play radio up front in the head unit? The previous model AVH-2440NEX did have dual zone even though pioneer never listed it on their site.

Hello Dean. Thank you I really enjoy your video. I'm using this radio on a Lincoln Navigator and I connected using idatalink maestro. I would like to connect a front camera and also get the iSimple to send video to my OEM overhead monitor. The problem is that I use my Aux for the idatalink maestro according to the instructions. Therefore, I only have one AV input. Any suggestions is greatly appreciate it.

Did some research can't video bypass several units so one went with the AVH-2550 NEX instead not disappointed. Will be installing steering wheel controls soon, since programming is required. Enjoy it man!

So, if I want to import my custom image (.jpg) what resolution and pixel dimensions. You noted 800x480 in the video, but image seems noticeably smaller and doesn't go edge to edge of screen...?

You can select the trim option and it makes it fill the screen.

I’ve got a 2016 Elantra. I use apple car play and and my blue tooth. When I play music I get a crackling sound and idk why. It doesn’t matter if my phone connects via bluebtooth or wired to the radio using apple car play. Idk what’s going on. I have this same radio

Not sure if I can get a comment here after 4 years but Ill try. Im trying to add the background home screen with a jpg image. Ive added an image to a thumb drive, plugged into the head unit's usb port, now I can see my image buy pulling up the usb input on the head unit, but my "add your own image" icon is grayed out, as shown in this video around 6:55. That is the rub, any help would be appreciated

@@thatguykai479 I was finally able to get it uploaded. I had to go to the USB setting and upload it, then go to the Background setting and set it to my pic. Only issue now is that my head unit is now showing incompatable USB drive. I just ordered a 16G drive, some here say that this head unit doesnt like anything over 32G, I was using a 64G and it was intermitently not working, hoping the 16G will work. Thanks for the reply

@@OdyBeRidin lmk if it works I’ve been trying to find a great stereo but I don’t want serious problems lik loading issues visuals soft ware issues. Of course every stereo has its cons but I’m taking the time to research everything before spending alot of money.

@@thatguykai479 I found this one on Ebay for $179, it was used but it looks brand new. I havnt had it for long, just got it installed in my RV. So far just playing around with it, it seems pretty troublefree. It synced with my iPhone easily. Pretty easy to navigate the menus for playback, getting it set up in the menus was not bad, ive seen worse.

I have an pioneer remote from a previous avh system. Can I use that on the 2500nex? Or do I have to order a whole new remote that looks exactly the same as the one in this video. Because I found a good deal on the 2500nex head unit and not the 2550nex.

fuzz174 if you download the Weblink App from AppStore you will see 5 or 6 apps that are supported. The only one worthwhile of the download is RU-vid

i had the same unit pretty much but a AVH2500... Well it stinks.. 90% of the time you cant read the display... and by time i put on my metra dash kit to radio you can hardly get to control buttons. I would of had to do major mod to dash kit.. So i returned it and got a AVH 2400 Which is so much better and you can tilt the screen to get rid of glare

Check out one of their other videos on the brake bypass. All you do is take your green wire and ground it to the case of the head unit. easy peasy.

Is there a way to find out how to use weblink I've had this thing for 6 months and can't figure it out. When I play RU-vid on weblink audio plays out of my phone and not through my car. I've connected weblink I've contacted pioneer no one can give me an awesome I've been at it for 6 months now. They both blame it on the other company this really sucks I have this feature I can't even use I wasted my money on this thing for sure. Please help I'm desperate

Regular Mike did you hook up the microbypass to unit on install. I have Toyota Camry Hybrid and it works . If no bypass, put on emergency brake and try again

That wasn't the problem. The video played just fine just no audio. It's been fixed seems there was some type of issue and they released an update that fixed it. Either way weblink sucks. I wish I had gotten something else. Weblink is the worst. It plays choppy and cuts out the audio isn't in sync with the video.

Anyone install this model and get a beeping noise? As in i drive around everything is fine and then randomly it just has a consistent ding ding ding ding noise like you would hear with your key in the ignition and door open
