People get so upset over this carmine and kieran part but like... THATS IT!!! THATS THE POINT!!! They made characters you are frothing at the mouth about! You give a shit about these people!!!! There are big emotions happening!!! Thats a good thing! Thats a GREAT thing! I've really seen people online talk about how they hated the dlc because of a character or choices the character made and YOU ARE SO CLOSE TO THE POINT MY GUY. YOU ARE SO FRICKIN CLOSE. YES lying to a character sucks but it sucks BECAUSE you care about them. If you didnt care about kieran nobody would give a shit about lying to him! Yes carmine is upsetting and grating! Yes kieran is sweet and timid and you want to tell him the truth. When was the last time a pokemon game story URGED you this bad to do something (tell the truth) This dlc fucking ROCKS and i cannot wait for amanda to keep going. I love joining in on the streams but PLEASE do not get spoiled on the 2nd half of this story it will be SO MUCH more impactful
The issue with that is that this is a video game. What you’re describing works in a book or a movie where you have no input. But a video game is supposed to allow you to interact. There’s SO many choices you should have been able to make here but you’re locked into doing the most illogical and genuinely stupid choices your character takes throughout the DLC. This has been a LONG running issue with Pokémon for the past few years. The stories just don’t make any sense unless your character is obtuse and deliberately being an agent of chaos. Normal people would never let most of these things happen because literally any amount of communication would solve about 75% of the irrational problems Pokemon stories have nowadays. Like the entire Team Star plot in Scarlet/Violet exists because Penny is a fucking idiot troglodyte that just refused to talk to the people she dragged into trouble for instance. This DLC had EXTREMELY poor writing which is shame because it could have been very compelling had they not made the player character be a raging two-faced bitch. The moment Kieran thought his sister and the PC were talking about them, your character should’ve clarified that they weren’t. The plot wouldn’t have even had to change because it was obvious that Kieran was obsessed with Ogerpon to the point that no matter what happened, he would’ve turned against your character. So because of that, what was the point of writing the PC so badly in this DLC? Just to kick Kieran while he was already down? Being cruel doesn’t make good writing.

Perrin is Adaman's descendant, but she also has a lil Hisuian Growlithe, and the Hisuian Arcanine line were associated with the Pearl Clan I think it's cute since it shows the clans must've been happy coexisting after the story in PLA

What became of the man who traveled with Ogerpon is indeed a lingering mystery. It's easy to think he was killed, but then why did the story specify that only the Teal Mask was left in the cave? Why did Ogerpon go looking for him if he was dead? And perhaps biggest of all, if he was killed then why wasn't the Teal Mask taken? It's not like the man hid the mask, it was right there in the cave when Ogerpon came back home. Hopefully we get an explanation at some point.

Like, ok, so here's my reason I don't like the Teal Mask DLC. Like, pokemon games always have railroady stories and you always just have to like play the exact same part and there's no real choice in the matter. Like you have to play the game, beat the evil team, and become champion- and that's usually fine. Usually everyone's like, 'I get that we shouldn't be asking this but can you just, like, save the world?' and then I go 'I was already doing that so sure, whatever.' But in this one they specifically railroad you into being a stupid jerk. Like they force you to listen to Carmine and keep everything a secret from Kieren and the village even though any normal person would tell Carmine to fuck off and stop being toxic and then immediately tell the whole village that their legends are stupid and their guardians are fake-ass bitches. Instead the game railroads you and steals agency over your own character to craft a fucking liar-revealed story line, which is everyone's least favorite story line btw, and then just expects you to be fine after they completely tank the likability of your character. Like I get it, they wanna tell a story, and they want drama, but can you not take away my own choice in the matter please?

Every problem I have with the DLC in one comment: - Carmine and Kieran really HAD to swap personality roles... - Your "caretaker" in the post-game has no shame in gouging you for $1,000,000 just to have a damn statue rebuilt. - Where the hell is Irida's descendant? - Nemona's parents are rich assholes. - Not much to do after all's said and done.
