The dark skin version is the non filtered version. It's very sad to see those people get so conditioned that if you're light skin, then you're beautiful. Being asian myself, at a very young age, I get comments that I would be beautiful if my skin was lighter or if my nose was pionty (has that western nose bridge). I would hear how my other asian peeps get comments about their eye shape (being monolids, not as wide or big). When I was younger, I thought, "Geez...thank God, my eyes are double lids, and big" (because I already got told about my flaws)...this was taught my surroundings from adults and not even from my own parents. Sometimes, my mum would give into that "beauty" standard, but my dad always made me feel comfortable and beautiful in my own skin. I am a proud brown skin and flat nosed woman.
ngl when i was watching them with the impression that the dark skinned tone was a filter, i preferred the "filtered" (the unfiltered, originally) better. in terms of attractiveness/good looking *on those specific individuals*. This thing was going on on instagram as well and i was genuinely just confused 😂😂😂
Well these are Spanish people and Spanish people believe that the lighter the skin the better, so not a lot of Spanish people would call these people out. If that made sense.
@bigocean6301 yep, Korean especially. The whiter the skin, the better, which is fine. But they shouldn't shame people for being an actual pigmentation, lol.
@@norah4892 IKR!!! i love that guy (Rebal). he can get me laughed even if im in the baddest of moods. the same goes for Layze. they should totally collab!
Ngl as someone who was made fun of for being pale, its so wild seeing people who wish they were paler ??? Like pls just appreciate your gorgeous skin whatever it naturally is 🙏 And ya, the lighter skin version is the filter, so this trend is just very sad imo :/ Hope its no longer a thing since this video is old.
I'm Morena but seeing all these white Hispanic girls being the beauty standard makes me insecure and wish I was more white or pale I feel like I would just be more prettier if I was so for me at least it's hard to accept I'm not going to look like them
I literally get gaslighted. I’ll be told I’m too pale and too black if I’m in the sun too much. I avoided the sun due to my family saying I would look like charcoal in 2 years, etc. I’m mulato so I tan easily.
You can clearly see the effort they put to make themselves as ugly as possible when they have darker skin And yet some people are saying iTs jUsT a fiLTer????
I'm from the Caribbean, are you sure that the dark skin tone is the filter and not the other way around? It seems to me that they're actually dark skin toned and the filter is the one lighting their skins, it would make a lot of more sense, still racist AF but just to make sure
Schools need to be teaching kids from the first year to the last year how to love themselves just the way they are, to see their own unique beauty, be proud of their race & racial features. Teach & show them them that the majority of people they look up to on tv, the media & online don't actually look like that, they are edited. The standards of beauty are disgusting, it discriminates the majority of people from the very narrow almost impossible standards, there are to many people hating themselves because of it, especially young people. The fashion & beauty industries needs a huge standards makeover.
Damn when i was young i dont give a feake about how I look, just need to look neat and smart. The power of streaming is making people insecure, my goodness.
They all looked better with their natural dark skin and features. Looking like a Ken doll isn’t attractive. It’s so much more beautiful to have features that are unique to you than to look like you’ve been stamped out of plastic and then blurred to holy hell.
I'm so confused with this trend, are they actually brown and saying they look better lighter or are they using something to look brown and their actually lighter, because if there actually brown i feel like there just making theirself look weird by flaring their noses and they actually don't look bad...I'm just so confused
Ngl I feel so bad for the girl imagine making a video with whoever and then you get randomly made fun of for your voice by this one TikTok or and everyone is just calling you immature😭😭
Oh my God rebal and lazy are both of my favorite RU-vidrs and then one of them talk about the other nicely so amazing and I think they really should have a Collab
The second guy at 4:25 didn't just have his nose made bigger but also his teeth and mouth were emphasized as well. Just watch in the first portrait he almost has buck teeth because they protrude so much but in the second portrait his teeth are set back and normal sized ...not protruding!!
I think it’s the other way round, I just think people are getting so worked up about personal looks so instead the first has no filter and the second one does have one. Many Spanish people are apparently a tiny bit insecure of their skin colour.
Something that might play into the pale thing, without being racist in thought: There exists cultural background around the world in that being paler was a sign for wealth. Not because they thought they looked like a "better race", but it shows that in that society you can afford to not work hard outside and thus do not get darker in the sunlight (an example is ancient egypt culture or some Asian backgrounds). That was also the case in some European cultures. Having skin, visibly darkened by the sun meant, yiu are of lower class because you have to work outside. It is still wrong to look down to people because of financial status or their kind if work, but the origin is not racism but classicism. In todays European culture it is tge opposite. Having skin, that git darkened by sun means, you have time to go outside and nit sit in a bureau without sunlight all day. So being tanned is a desired look in normally pale western societies.
AYO her voice sounds different in that TikTok than her live 🤨 lmao she tried putting on a cute voice but her voice is actually deep (compared to mine at least) as a girl w a high pitched voice I can spot girls faking it And the filter ones the light skin was the filter lol I’m glad I don’t have to use a filter to change my skin tone 💞
This is just sad. Lighter/darker all skin colors have beauty. The only thing the filter does to make any skin toner “better” is smoothing out the skin tone for acne, scars, and wrinkles.
Yessss Daddddy,I love you, your facial expressions & everything you are hilarious..it was the noses for me😂😂.. I have got so many video's to catch up on..I don't do tik tok.. Stay safe & take care,🤘🏻☮🤘🏻☮
Is the filter to look darker or lighter because I can't tell............. 😶 If it's a filter to look darker that's racist, if it's a filter to look lighter that's sad.
7:04 Dude I was playing animal crossing while listening to this video and I was about to try out a new giroid I just planted and when I placed him the music started playing and I legit thought it was the giroid💀
In Korea, it’s common for people with tan skin to get foundation that’s not even their skin color and is much much more lighter almost like paper light. They cover their face neck and even arms and hands with it because Very light skin is popular in Korea and even china because it’s known for the Korean beauty standard. They put the very light foundation on, and they sometimes put red tint on their noses, and lips and under the eyes because they think that having big eyes and a small nose and V shape facial structure is called "Cute" such as "Kawaii" (a Japanese word that means 'Cute'.)
ok it's really disgusting. at first i thought it was people not liking their tan skin and putting on a filter to look paler, but NO, they're mocking african features and calling it ugly. i can understand that those people thought nothing about it and thought it was just an ugly filter, the problem obviously comes from the filter itself and the person who created it, but still. it's hurtful to see that my facial features (tan, big lips and big nose) are called ugly.
Damn, well I'm from Latam, hispanic, and this is a huge issue here and it's pretty common among all the latam countries. Pretty and white privilige are such a normal thing despite people of all skintones living here, we praise light skin and straight hair so much that has come to the point that it's the only pretty thing and that evolves to people being racism to themselves and doing everything so they won't get darker. It's actually very sad, I live this every day with my mom treating and talking bad about herself and other black people uugh
Colorism and racism is sad, disappointing and from an unemotional standpoint kind of silly. When we look at nature and the variety of plants, animals and flowers we can see there is beauty in so many forms and colors- why then, is that beauty not seen or acknowledged in the diversity of humanity? Even when there are so many examples of non white beauty that exist like: Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell, Zhang Xiyi, Eva Mendes, Eva Longoria, Alexa Demi, Hyolyn etc. I really hope our world soon let’s go if this belief/obsession that the only beauty that exists is in white skin and features cause it is so limiting and damaging to the many people who are not white. I want people of every race to be able to see, love and embrace the beauty of their own people, culture and features and not feel like they have to break themselves to look like another race to be loved or accepted. A big dream, I know, but I hope we all get there one day soon.
In the Philippines, being fair is considered more beautiful than being dark. Like other Latin countries, we were under Spanish rule for hundreds of years. We look up to the "fair-skinned" conquerors. It is ingrained in our culture. Unfortunately. All our saints are light skinned. It's not a "racial" thing more like a sad case of "colonial mentality". A lot has changed but it is quite common.
What??? This has nothing to do with colonisation. It's the same in all countries that have darker and paler skin people. It's too do with money and social standing. If you have darker skin you work outside and hence are poorer. If you have light skin your family had more money. Stop being brain washed on colonisation. It's bs and not actually true.
