Yes!! Was waiting for a landfall deck thank you! ❤ There is a this creature for 6 mana that mills and brings back all lands that can hit hard in such a deck too.
Been running a straight BG version of this in Bo3. A bit less all in on the landfall and a bit more midrangey with early game removal. Bristling Bill is an awesome addition to the build in lieu of the Archeologists. Glarb was a bit too clunky, as I always had to use him to keep from dying before I could dig. I found Honest Rutstein to be a suitable replacement, especially with the Analyst dumping creatures. Last, but certainly not least, a pair of Demolition Fields have done a tremendous amount of work. Thanks for the idea, this is a lot of fun to play. Its not too pushed, but it is really cool.
I love playing landfall in standard! I will definitely be making videos around the Vinelasher in decks! What is the frog avatar being used? It's not Glarb right?
Scavenger's Talent is interesting. cracking a land, mills 2. Sacing a treasure/food, or anything, mills 2(except legend rule, for some reason)... activating mode 3 to return Lumra mills 10. This is a 1 card setup for Vinelasher/Lumra OTK
Avarice could really help this deck. Would allow you to search for your pieces at will, or at worst draw a bunch of cards to help dig. Or both. Also allows you to take fewer cards of non-essentials because you can go get them if you need them. Thinning your deck.
The Pitiless Carnage seemed to just sit in your hand and were completely unnecessary, a bit of a win more. It would probably be better if you switched them out for some sort of hand disruption, like Duress. This way, you check to make sure the coast is clear before you play your win con against removal heavy decks. Other than that, this is an awesome brew. These are exactly the kind of shenanigans i can get behind.
Landfall ping might me an annoying archetype to deal with in standard but I don't think it breaks anything. Fast aggro decks like the bird deck we've see recently or the lizard deck he plays in the video will defeat the landfall deck before its slow combo can be setup.
Try adding Awake the Woods, the tokens the etb are all lands. Deeproot Wayfinder would be a decent early creature for the surveil and returning land from grave back to battlefield
Your deck looks pretty fun but it also looks pretty slow I was waiting to see you go up against lizards or mice and I wasn't surprised at all when they wrecked that deck... lizards and mice are pretty rough but I think with some refinement you definitely might be onto something there
