I just want to know why you're avoiding showing us Shawn Jr(mini PC)? That vid with the cassette tape hard drive monstrosity that I assume was running on it doesn't count. 😔
I love how they went with the og gameboy look. Timeless! I used to love my game boy even though it literally the size of a brick with a 3 inch screen 💚 great video Shawn 🥂
at first I was like, "that's not a Nintendo product! why is this channel reviewing such a device??" But then I realized, it's because it _looks_ like a Nintendo product! You never let me down, RGT! You always prove to be *THE* best Nintendo reviewer/channel on yt!
You are the reason I am into emulation now. Thanks RGT, I followed you because I thought I was following a Nintendo RU-vidr, now I have retro emulation stuff. God bless you, stay healthy.
I still have mine on stock firmware and it is great. I do plan on putting onion on it. I play this all the time now. It easily fits in my pocket and the graphics are wonderful. I get asked about this every day from strangers who think it is awesome.
@@562g9No. the sd card holds the firmware and the games. I would suggest when you buy it that you purchase a new sd card as the one it comes with is prone to failure.
I have both I like the stock miyoo better than the rg35xx but when you put onion on the miyoo it's a lot better and it's a great pocket companion. Rg35xx feels real solid and is a better size for around the house . I just got into retro handhelds and these are both great introductions to it . Great reviews glad a big timer is talking about them .
My favorite is Russ and the Tech Dweeb. The RGT85 Videos are more of an "overview" for casual players to me. To call it a review, one has to put more effort into it, but no offense. To each their own.
One of the Internet reviewers said, before Miyoo mini plus were customers hands that maybe down the road you can wirelessly transfer your gaming to a TV screen with Wi-Fi, however he wasn’t sure on that it was just his idea. However with the Onion OS down the road, you will be able to update onion OS operating system with Wi-Fi, without having to take the card out and doing a bunch of stuff on the computer and bringing the card back, that will be pretty cool as well as playing games with other people co-op.
Great video RGT! I have one and love it! Here's an info dump on things I've learned since getting one to help you out. I love the see through finishes, but some people may not like that the battery led shines through the plastic. Make sure you buy another micro SD card to store games on as the stock card is not really reliable long term. May be a good idea to back up the contents of the stock SD card to your computer or USB drive. There's info for this online, but I highly recommend installing Onion OS (not on the stock card). There's no internal clock for the system so pokemon games like emerald will need you to set the time every time you power on the device in order to access timed events, which can be done as a feature in Onion OS. Lastly, when setting up retro achievements, the games included on the stock SD card typically isn't compatible as the ROM version is slightly different. Best off getting your own ROMs for games you care about the achievements for. Happy Gaming!
I never owned a PSone when I was young. Only ever played at a friends house. I'm playing my first ever playthrough of FFIIV on this device and i am enjoying every minute.
Loved my 35xx, but I just recently traded it from a Mini Plus and I'm really enjoying it. I have an OG Mini, but the Plus is a good middle ground for me size wise.
I got the Ambernic already and love it, even with stock software. It came with so many awesome arcade games and adding games was easy. I would love a review of Myoo mini Plus vs Ambernic 35xx.
I just got myself a rbg20s and it’s a blast and I don’t need to fiddle with anything it plays ps1,snes and gba flawlessly and those are the systems I will play the most
Just got mine last week. I love it honestly. Comfortable in my hands, tons of roms, and easy to switch between those games on the fly with quick resume. I will say if you are getting one though, pick up a new micro sd card to go with it. The card that comes with the miyoo is a no name card, and it will probably crap out on you at some point.
@@RFNY315 I believe you'll need to format the card as FAT32 (your PC will most likely give you this option) and then just copy and paste after. It's pretty easy so no worries
I think they’re the same screen however the Miyoo Mini Plus has a lot more controls and wide ranges to adjust the colors, brightness, contrast, and other things for the screen, which the ambernick does not, and that’s why the screen looks better.
Please do a follow up video with Onion OS and a curated rom list. It really makes a huge difference. Stock firmware is inferior in its optimization, even the lesser system. Also the micro SD will probably fail sooner than later and needs to be replaced with a quality card. People need to know these things.
> Also the micro SD will probably fail sooner than later and needs to be replaced with a quality card. People need to know these things. ah, yes, the 101 MYTH from reddit dwellers indeed. heres a painful truth, clownie: your MM/MM+ screen PRONE TO FAILING way sooner that that cheap generic sdcard :)
I've had my Anbernic RG35XX since early April, and I love it perfect size for my large hands and with Garlic OS custom firmware added makes the experience so much better than stock. It brings me back to my childhood days, it's got the best of my 2 of my favorite Gameboy's ever made, the Gameboy Pocket and Gameboy Advance (Didn't own the Gameboy Color), this is the perfect companion to my Steam Deck when I want to be discreet with my gaming addiction. Either are a must buy, also RTG 85 you should check out the Retriod Pocket Flip and your still my favorite Nintendo RU-vidr 😎✌🏽
I got an anbernic rg 353vs and i love it. Its bigger than the miyoo, and its got the analog sticks for 3d games. Id recommend going for anbernic devices so you can play more systems.
I love my miyoo mini plus, at first i was thinking of getting anbernic but i really want something small, i even wanted the original miyoo mini but it is so hard to get so i got the plus version. Playing gba and psx games on it is a joy. Only thing that's bothering me is the screen when it's bright, I can't see a thing 😂, i mean i can always darken the room but i can't really do anything during a train ride.
trust me i know you say that you shouldn't tinker with this thing but seriously put OnionOS on here. the gameswitcher feature is too good to pass up it only takes 10 mins to install and set up and you're vastly improving this device
I'm buying it. Love the retro Gameboy look and that screen looks like a switch oled display put on a Gameboy and all them retro games. Will buy it soon. Thanks rgt they owe you a percentage cut lol
AS A PERSON WHO HAS THIS AND PRETTY MUCH ALL THE ANBERNIC HANDHELDS UP TO 2022 I FOUND I STILL GO BACK TO MY ANBERNIC RG280V OR ANBERNIC RX300 FOR POCKETABILITY AND COMFORT THAT ARE SMALLER THAN THE MIYOO MINI PLUS. BOTH ARE GOOD BUT I THINK THE RG280V IS SLIGHTLY BETTER IN MY OPINION
As the Nintendu RU-vidr you truly are by heart I really love what you are doing. Don't listen to the voices. You are who you are. A Nintendo RU-vidr. And this is okay. It really is. Make your peace with it ... :-)
I own both, but yes, the Ports (incl. SM64 are more fluid on the RG35XX although the Plus has more CPU Juice. If you want to emulate Amiga, you're better off with the overclocked RG35XX.
One thing I've been looking for is a way to capture 3DS footage. I was planning on getting one of mine modded, but is there a better way to capture 3DS footage?
Emulators have saved game space in homes, rooms apartments, etc. And if not a fan of cheats or not, that is built in as well,.I have most and ps2 Emulator not perfect but with 16 gb ram, almost every ps2 game can be played, especially my Favorite series CASTLEVANIA
I can see myself playing Super Mario RPG on this. After we got Pokémon on the Gameboy I always thought Super Mario RPG would've been cool and this handheld would kind of make that real.
Perhaps its a stupid question but Is the software legal on this device (there is so much)... I can't imagine it, but won't the maker of this device get into trouble?
