I am seventy or a woman followed me into the grocery store to tell me I looked amazing from head to toe she said so simple but put together she asked for a photo so she could recreate my look ,it was black loose fit blazer white shirt silver jewelry and black slim leg pants and black pointed toe flats sling back hair pulled back in a small ponytail and full makeup

I am 84, I was at the doctors office, a woman tapped me on the back and told me I looked so pretty. I have white hair, I always have a good haircut, short. I wore a linen maxi skirt with a linen camp shirt,, straight hem just past my waist, on outside of skirt, all black. Straw bag and Birkenstock sandals. I felt really good.

I'm in my 70's, many on fixed income are re acquainting themselves with sewing, and up cycling thrifted clothing. I stay with the classics, It works and always can be updated with accessories

I am 71. I have always applied this rule: I am NOT a "type," a category, a style group. I understand the purpose of saying, "I am preppy," "I am artistic," etc., but I find it demeaning to be put in a box. I have always felt this way... hope I always will. Three questions: Why did I spend time watching this? How long till this channel drops out of my feed? When does this woman breathe?

I just turned 70 this week and I recently started wearing skirts with a simple T-shirt and sometimes a linen jacket in the warm months. I wear ECCO sneakers for my day job bc I need orthotics for my high arches and I’m on my feet all day. I try to have a good haircut and right now i have a stylist who knows how to cut wavy hair. I’m still working a part time job and a silversmith, selling my work in galleries and now a tack shop. I believe God doesn’t expect less from older people, if anything, He expects more.

I’m 67 and have been reinventing my wardrobe. Going from a natural redhead to having white hair. I let it grow out natural during the pandemic. My husband loves the new look. It is fun to dress up again. I live in Hawaii and am sick of the vacation look everywhere I look. Instead I’m wearing dresses and skirts. Pretty shoes and wonderful coats, etc. I live at 4000 feet up the mountain so I get cold. I’m hoping that I will be able to wear heels again but for now have replaced with kitten heels. I just bought a pair of beautiful leather boots so am looking for a great field jacket. Fun, fun, fun.

My sister from another mother. Maybe I know you. 🤗 I live in Hawaii too, grew my hair out during the pandemic, and lived at 3350 elevation until two months ago when I moved down to sea level. The change in hair color and temp really changed my basic wardrobe completely. It is now all linens and cottons and sandals for me.

I will be 73 next month and involved in the arts in my community. I have always been active and started weight lifting last year. I am loving my life and feel healthy and very confident in my classic/ boho style. I am dreaming of owning a Farm Rio dress. Thank you for your help and videos!

ha my style too I often wear blazers over boho tops and skirts...or dresses or print palazzo pants or my jeans and a boho top. I but alot of Karma Road pieces great prints in terrific colors. I live abraod in a tourist town in the tropics ...it attracts alot of American, Canadian, and European tourists...20 some things and retirees especially. We are a day trip from our Pacific port for winter cruise ship passengers. I get constant compliments....local little girls want their photo with me...they think I am a Disney princes or their parents do...a Latin country it is so cute. Im 77 look about 65 my dermatologist says...she cant believe I was a sailor for a decade. But I RELIGIOUSLY used sunscreen and now use Tretinoin nightly. I love looking unique. I also wear a real Ecuadoran Panama hat with a long Antigue hatpin so it doesnt blow off...my dermatologist says thenhighest sunscreen only filters out 50% of the sun so ALWAYS wear a HAT...and I do.

I'm 71- lost 2 sizes 2 years ago so have been treating myself to all new clothes! Slowly - lots of basics (New with Tags) on a resale website 🎉. I love Quince and am doing all neutrals😁👍🏼... Jeans!! Always wear makeup , fashion high heels, espadrilles or those fashion running shoes for everyday...as this makes me happy. Thanks for this video❤

Thank you for this helpful post. I am 78 and do find dressing more challenging. I agree about prints, it is easier to put together outfits when you have simple,quieter pieces. I have the horrors of looking frumpy. A lot of stylists make you feel guilty about wearing capris and not following "current" pant trends that make you look fat and dumpy. I used to wear belts and had a small waist, I have to rethink my style! Boy are boobs a challenge! You are right on about shoe challenges, they must be feather light and grip the foot. I have a grandson marrying next year and I worry about looking nice and not the frumpy grandma!

Thanks for your video. I am 78. There are no manufacturers of shoes in my size of women's size 4 extra wide, so I actually have no choices, but managed to find a very few shoes that fit direct from China... I usually have to throw out 3 pairs out of every four pairs I buy online as I can't try them on before I get them... I like everything to match and tend to go for the classic, timeless, elegant garments. Most of my handbags are Italian leather by Brahmin that I have ordered from the United States, and I go for the ones with three leathers, the higher-end styles. Also there are no ready to wear clothes in my size, (my height 55 inches) but we don't have the stores you mention here on Northern Vancouver Island. Thanks for all your advice.

Yes, exactly! I'm 70 (which I cannot really believe) and we can now wear whatever we damn-well please :0) I happen to be into styling my outfits, and enjoy art and design, I'm signalling to the world that I am creative and unconventional. I have friends who want to be schlumpy. It makes them feel completely free and they are signalling to the world that they absolutely do not care what anyone thinks about how they are dressed. Both are entirely valid statements. It's the in-between that gets tricky and you covered that territory beautifully!

I think Stuart Weitzman and Cole Haan do stylish and comfortable flats. I've also found that I can do good condition second hand flats, although for heels I have to buy new and break into my own foot. I am currently battling losing my big toe nail, and was ridiculously relieved when the podiatrist told me it was due to a ballet impact injury and not the dreaded old person nail fungus. Kind of amused at my own reaction. All my life I've loved clean white slip on Keds, and that hasn't changed. As far as hair color, they will have to pry my hair dye from my cold dead fingers. A good quality salon keeps it from looking too harsh. I just turned 70 and am so glad to be beyond my early years "counterculture feminism can't dress up at all" days, and my mid years "have to dress like a man so they take you seriously" corporate days. Love your channel!

Challenge on, Nada! Find me a shoe! I wear a size 10Med shoe. BUT: I have some very hefty, full foot orthotics that limit my options. Mostly, I'm in sneakers. This spring, white/beige New Balance platforms. Occasionally a Naturalizer flat without the inserts but only for very short periods and no standing about.

Yes the color of the kislux is beautiful and it is a great decision, maybe one day they will add feet and straps. It would be nice to have a bigger bag during the colder months when we have to store gloves, beanies, scarves, etc…

I turn 70 this month. Shoes are such a problem due to foot issues. I’ve never been able to tolerate heels. I used to love my Birkenstocks but now find them intolerable, I think because of loss of fat padding in my feet. Bunions, contracted toes. I also used to find clogs really comfortable, but no longer. Sandals are necessary because of living in South Florida.

I find Mephisto shoes feel great even after 8 hours. I am 74 and have loss of fat pads. These are an investment, but you can send them back to the company to have them refurbished and repaired. They come back to you like a new pair.

I am a senior citizen and late 60's. My problem, I am only 5' 1" height. I also don't have a car anymore and take buses all the time. So....I don't wear high heels, don't wear pointy toe shoes, because I have to walk about 4 blocks to a bus stop. Also, although some bus stops have bus bench, other locations don't. I need a comfortable shoe but also don't wear flats. My go to shoe is platform/wedgy sneakers because they are the most comfortable shoe, especially when I am traipsing around on buses. The only other shoes I wear, mostly in the winter are ankle boots with about 1 1/2 inch block heel. It is hard to find my size shoe which is about 5 1/2. or even size 5. Yes, I have small feet and not too much choices in thst size. Forget buying at stores like Macy's, Nordstrom, way, way too expensive for shoes and clothes, even supposed sale prices at these stores are still expensive. Don't know what to do because stores like Wal Mart or Target, with more affordable prices for shoes and clothes, don't have very good selection in small sizes, especially in shoes.

@@laurielenig9939 Depends. I do like some florals, even large ones. But swimwear tends to have florals in blues and purples that are horrible. I've seen some large florals that I like, but I think they have a lot of plain background.

I don't have many print tops but my favorites are 2 from Talbots and one from Chicos. Yes .. I agree that in general they are not the most youthful but a much younger customer at Talbots convinced me to keep an orange sort of boho peasant blouse ( I'm much more preppy / classic) and I'm glad I have it. My recent Ch8co blouse is white linen with a frayed edge design and a soft scattered floral print.

I don’t like having to wear flats only in my 70’s due to balance issues, but I have found cute shoes that work for me. I have neuropathy and so what do you wear when you cannot even wear plain flats as they won’t stay on feet.

Besides a blazer or jacket, what do you consider a good outer layering piece. I’m also in Florida. I’m miles from the closest mall. I used to buy almost exclusively from QVC.. now they seem to design clothes not fashion. I’ve stopped buying there. I see them as “old lady clothes.” HELP !

I love prints, flowery, lots of colors, embellishments. Of those two pairs of sandals, I hated the top ones and thought the bottom ones were much cuter. I don't like some of these "modern" looks. I've never much cared for the basic neutral look. It is a blessing to be alive, healthy, active and to grow more confident and wiser with age; but physically growing old is not such a blessing.

I saw a fantastic lady in her 70s with a sleek grey-hair bun, dark-wash slim-straight jeans with a turn-up (one of the trends this year), stylish medium heels, a simple tucked-in top and cropped jacket. She looked amazing and had a lovely slender body that made her look young and healthy. Hobbs Imogen boots have a comfy medium heel and the suede will mould around wide feet too. I have several fashionable women friends in their 70s, they wear great simple pieces from Uniqlo and Marks & Spencer's, e.g. straight leg jeans/A-line knee-length linen/wool skirts, trench coats, they dress down more formal pieces (e.g. tweed jackets) and choose simple jewellery. Wearing top to toe ladylike/classic clothes is very ageing from our 40s onwards. I have structured bags that don't look too old, I prefer suede/nubuck to polished leather and stay away from shiny gold hardware, buckles, I even find gold buttons way too brassy and ageing. You can look amazing in straight jeans and a white t-shirt and trainers/sneakers in your 70s, but look after your posture, weight and don't overdo it with chunky jewellery and other ageing accessories (Hermes scarf? Not for me, but Gucci vintage mickey mouse necktie? Yes!)

I hate shopping for clothes! I'm 70, 5'2" with short legs. I've been dealing with medical issues for the last 30 yrs. One of the medicines is prednisone which not only puts on weight but shifts it to the abdomen and back of the neck. I gained 50 pounds in 6 months from it. I have breathing issues so it's very difficult to work out or even walk very far to tone up. So I look like a barrel with relatively thin legs sticking out the bottom. So for pants to fit my waist, they are baggy in the leg. I need supportive shoes as I have had a knee and hip replaced and spinal fusion. Also, my one foot is always swollen and the other is a good half to full size smaller so if I wear a little cute pump, one shoe flops off all the time. I have recently been trying to diet and lost 25 pounds. Now everything looks awful on me. I cannot afford these stores you're talking about. I've looked at Talbots. One blouse is almost $100.! It's also exhausting to go to stores and gets me out of breath. Trying to shop online is terrible. They always picture the clothes on skinny models. When I put it on, I look dumpy. Also, why do they make plus size clothes look so awful? I have good taste in clothes and used to look very sharp, but it seems impossible anymore. Sorry to be such a downer, but this is my reality.

I am 75 and my knees are so painful but I would like a shoe that looks sharp. Totally flat shoes are almost as bad as heels. I wear a size 8 medium width. I tend to prefer to dress rather artsy but not flowing as I make jewelry and love to do batik, watercolor painting, slab clay quirky designs. Not a Birkenstock lady!!

Fitted styles can be a trouble with length. Hard to find a seamstress or tailor. I have 6 more pair of pants that need hemming. Too tall for petite and not quite 5’7’.

I just started the catalog so I started with basics, but I will be adding much more so bookmark the catalog and check back. I put a lot of thought into each of the items so I am not going to add anything random. :) the focus of the catalogues is to be filled with the exact right essentials for each decade and then I will add statement pieces and trend pieces seasonally.
