I was 16 when this came out. I had my first real girlfriend & we would dance together listening to this record on her dads stereo system. Life was simple & fun back then. Now I am 67 & love to hear the old songs & think how young & stupid I was. And the girls back then we’re all natural, no Botox , no silicone inflated boobs , no tattoos & no big fat arses. Just natural beauty. Happy days .👍👍
Your eyes are obviously degenerating as most girls today are still - "all natural, no Botox , no silicone inflated boobs , no tattoos & no big fat arses." - There is a bias to the ones You see!, perhaps You are looking in the wrong place. "Happy Days?" The Vietnam War was still being fought.
@@bubbaschwartz Talking of Watergate, Nixon and his wife invited the New Seekers to the White House for tea and a recital despite the goings on at the time. As Brits we were happy, but today we have hate filled communities and social media bile and woke. Yeah, take me back, you stay if you want to..
1972 I began courting a beautiful young girl I married in 1974 when I was just 19. Can't recall how many times we danced to this song but it was a lot. I lost her in 2020 to COVID, but I still luv this song coz of the many happy memories and from a different time when things seemed so much better than now?
That is so interesting. Happy Times tinged with tragic end. I 🙏 that your wife is in God's Eternal Kingdom. Songs invoke good memories. I was a boy when this was a hit.
We need to RETURN to this mentality. We were killing hatred. We were killing racism. Now people in power want to return to hatred and racism through Critical Racism. Fight this hatred with the mentality of this song. It was a happier time. We need to FIGHT to bring that to this time. God Bless all of you.
@Tiger Stacker I'd like to go back to this time too It was pretty much the onset of the liberal hatred propaganda at the University level. There have always been radicals but not in such force. Don't believe me? Look it up.
I was in kindergarten when I first heard this song and it made me cry. Because I knew somehow that this was hard to achieve. I am an educator today and know this was my calling and teaching the world is and will always be my mission.
I'd like to build a world a home And furnish it with love Grow apple trees and honey bees And snow white turtle doves I'd like to teach the world to sing In perfect harmony I'd like to hold it in my arms And keep it company I'd like to see the world for once All standing hand in hand And hear them echo through the hills For peace throughout the land That's a song I hear Sing it along Let the world sing today Over and over I'd like to teach the world to sing In perfect harmony La, la, la, la To, do, do, do, do, do La, la, la I'd like to build a world a home And furnish it with love Grow apple trees and honey bees And snow white turtle doves (That's a song I hear) I'd like to teach the world to sing In perfect harmony And I'd like to hold it in my arms And keep it company (That's the song I hear) I'd like to see the world for once All standing hand in hand And hear them echo through the hills For peace throughout the land (That's the song I hear) I'd like to teach the world to sing In perfect harmony (Sing it all over) I'd like to teach the world to sing In perfect harmony La, la, la, la To, do, do, do, do, do La, la, la I'd like to teach the world to sing
I doubt I'd have a lavish funeral when I pass on, but if I ever do have a funeral when the time comes, it'd be a humble wish of mine to have this song played in remembrance of me at my wake. Thanks so much in advance.
Do by any chance know who the man in the yellow vest is? I can’t believe how much I love his voice? They all have beautiful voices but whenever his bit comes in I just absolutely adore it 🥰 Thank you 😊
For a time we believed but the greed of few soon ate the dream. And out of their indigestion they spewed out more wars. But as the poet said it's not to late to seek a newer world. Just believe in one small hope and water every day.
Ah, the origin of that famed Coca-Cola jingle! I was going on 5 years old when I remember buying this 45 in a record store! The music was changing rapidly and fresh new artists, like America, The Looking Glass, Argent, etc., were emerging by the day. The 1960s were meeting the 1970s. As you can hear, they knew how to create melody and yes, this song IS on my 1970s playlist on my computer!
I just accidentally click this video out of curiousity...Holy shhh. I felt like I'm sent back in time in 1989 when i heard it's familiar tone.. My mother use to play this song with her guitar and sing to us me and my sister when we are just 9yrs old and 7yrs old. It brings so much memories with our simple childhood.❤
I was born in 1960 and remeber this as one of the sweet, beautiful songs of the early 70's... brought tears to my eyes hearing this. These were truly the most hopeful times on Earth... There were millions of us who vibed with these lyrics believing we could change the world with LOVE. After all these yrs... everything that matters has LOVE at it's core. "Let all that you do be done in Love and you will have joy and gladness." 1 Corinthians 16:14/Luke 1:14
I was born in 1960,too,and I loved the new seekers. They were better than they were given credit for (unfortunately, they didn't last long). But I KNOW ABBA got their inspiration from them.Fact is ABBA basically copied them (the new seekers should be proud 👍)
Dear Friend # You entirely ignore the Western, the west, civilisation which has done and ensured our great affluent peaceful society such you that you thus comment says it all,. God bless.

Funny thing….It was early August 1969. My high school choir, from West St. Paul, Minnesota, traveled to Freiburg, Germany and participated in an international choir fest. Our group consisted of people from Germany, France, Switzerland, and us, the kids from the United States. Most of us could not converse, but we could sing together with such beauty. Two years later, 1971, Coca-Cola aired the commercial with this song, performed by the youth of the world. I wonder where they got the idea.
Can’t remember seeing these hippies/flower people on TOTP’s, I never dressed like that, had this as a single in 72 when I was 16, liked the old Coke add before this, amazing what can survive 52 years on, now retired on a State Pension, and a great upload!.
The Year of 1972 was a Big year for Me . I was turning 14 that year My oldest Sister was going on 18 and My middle Sister was 15 and Dad was informing Me of a Man's Life n Responsibility's. Boy Fifty some Year's ago, was Certainly a Different attitude and better Concept's of How We wanted too Treat Each other & Be Treated as Well. TKS.

Happy Birthday Lyn Paul born on February 16, 1949. She is an English pop singer and actress. She came to fame as a member of the international chart-topping pop group the New Seekers in the early 1970's. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyn_Paul
Nice one mate, I haven't seen this in 40 odd years and I always thought it was Lynsey de Paul.. but watching it now I thought, that's not Lynsey de Paul ....thanks for saving me a trip to Google 😂
@James O'Neill You're Welcome! As always, there's the Wikipedia link at the end of all posts I make here on RU-vid! I remember to site my sources of information on posts here!
Deliberately released ahead of the infamous Coke promotion shortly after - certainly made its mark on brand history… Got to see Lynn Paul perform this, it just works 👍
Just bought a New Seekers cd in a charity shop, have discovered I like them, The Carpenters, John Denver, and much more. Strange, as I grew up on a diet of punk, UK Subs, Angelic Upstarts, Ruts etc. No limits anymore, it's all good stuff! ( I tell a lie, I think i secretly liked it all along!)
"I'd like to buy the world a Coke & keep it company....it's the real thing....What the world wants today...Coca-Cola..." At least that's what C.C.Corp. said the world wanted in 1971.
Omg I so loved Eve Graham back in the day ...at 16 my poster girl/lady whatever.. just started playing guitar too and I just wanted to be Pete Doyle ...BIG TIME ...haha
I was 1 when this song came out. 52 now. I always heard the Coca Cola version. Didn't know this version even existed until just now watching it. Very nice song, to say the least.
Thankfully tastes vary. For me, this twee, clichéd song is living proof that not all music back then was quite so wonderful!! Each to their own. Whilst people were buying this in droves, a genius like Nick Drake was being largely ignored. 😢
