Really enjoying the Skypad 4.0. I feel its definetely a upgrade to the 3.0. It's much smoother and it seems dust and lint is less noticeable compared to the 3.0. Glide all around feels a lot better. Have a ShidenkaiV2 on the way. Looking forward to trying that out. What pad do you currently main?
Yeah I also have noticed that dust and hairs don’t get stuck so much on the 4.0! Defo an upgrade. Currently I main the Zero Xsoft since for some reason I play very confidently with it. Also the shidenkai and the skypad is in my rotation.
@@jerrorr I feel you on the Xsoft Zero, that was my first pad I bought after using the good ole QCK for years, and it was def a upgrade. My aim was noticeably better. I know the zero is a control pad, but I actually can track pretty well on it too. Feels pretty well balanced imo. Not near as muddy as the QCK. I'm still testing some new pads, but I have a feeling I'll end up going back to the Zero in time. I just tend to play better more consistently on it. Appreciate the input!
I ordered the pad, not just based off your review, but many say it’s faster and smoother. If I get that it’s worth it. If it’s slower, I will indeed be pissed xD
man all these mousepads are driving me insane lmfao, been trying to replace my skypad 2.0 and everything just feels slow compared to it. i bought 2 skypad 3.0's and they are much slower compared to my 2.0 even with changing out different skates between jades, obsidian and obsidian pros. i bought a raiden mid a couple days ago and was told it was almost like a glass pad but cloth and to me the raiden felt like a mud pad even with jade dot skates. so atm im just left kinda hopeless, i dont know if i should send it with the skypad 4.0 with people having qc issues or wait for the padsmith empress speed to come out or glsswrks akari.
Same. If you can wait I’d reccomend padsmith their pads are just such high quality. By their speed pad is about the same as the 3.0 based on the few reviews I’ve seen. The 4.0 is a bit of a gamble you might get a faster pad, might get a slower one. Pick your poison.
@@jaymz8222 i tried finding reviews of the padsmith empress speed and couldn’t find any, was hoping to see some before they release the pad, but atm im just debating to either jump on the empress speed or just wait for skypad 4.0 to be available on amazon so i can return it if its slow.
There is a giant keylight pointing to the desk, and the video is exposed properly. I won’t film the next one with the sp-004 however so things should be clearer.
@@jerrorryeah! was using a 2.0 before i guess it's just confusing to me because it feels more complex than just "this pad is faster than that pad". I think the 4.0 is faster? But for some reason it feels like it has even more static friction than the 2.0, specifically when applying very slight pressure downward. It feels almost.. stickier? Which is so confusing because I know the 3.0 is generally supposed to be much faster than the 2.0, and the 4.0 even faster. Not sure if it's because I have one of those "slow" 4.0s or not. Maybe due to the surface's smoothness, it makes more contact vs. the textured surface of the 2.0, and that's just how it is The sound, size, and smoothness feels so much nicer, and in my head it should be straight upgrade, which is why I hate that I seem to STILL feel more comfortable with 2.0 glide. But ofc maybe it's just because I haven't fully "learnt" or became familiar enough as I have with the 2.0 sorry for the long response, you can tell trying to compare these pads is driving me crazy Lol.
Yeah there’s a lot of factors that affect the glide of the surface, and most likely that smoothness is the cause for that stickiness when applying force. It’s hard for me because I want to give something more objective for the viewer than ”this feels like faster” but then on the other hand there is so much more than static and dynamic friction coefficents with pads. But keep at it with the SP-004! I believe you will get used to it quite fast.
@@jerrorrUpdate: replaced my old cyclone dots with new ones, and it did the trick! Don't feel any of the stickiness anymore, super low static friction now :)
Yeah it is, but the biggest noticeable difference is the increased smoothness. On the 3.0 the obsidian pros felt kinda ”harsh” but on this they are smooth
Hey is there any chance you could test the stock Lamzu skates? Or not even test them but just move the mouse around and let me know how it feels. All my other skates (Jade, Obsidian, Skypad Obsisdians, stock Gwolves (lol)) all feel similar to what you've experienced. However the stock skates on my Lamzu Thorn Fnatic feel sticky and slow in a way. It almost feels like it turns into a Cerapad Kin which is the best comparison I have.
@@jerrorr I had been using them on my Skypad 3.0 for awhile and they still feel great on that pad. I can try to use some new Lamzu skates I have and see if they feel better. Was curious if others were having similar issues and whether it also occurred with certain other skates and that might be why reviewers had been reporting inconsistencies between the speed they felt.
Interesting! There is a possibility that because the texture on 3.0 is different than with 4.0, the skates need to be broken in again in a way for the smoother grain on the 4.0. I will have to check if I have some skates that have a similar feeling
I also really liked lamzus skates for the skypad 3.0 so much I bought a couple extra packs. Using the obisidian pros now though and have no complaints. I also felt the lamzu skates added a bit of control. @@wyattmckibbon8401
Currently I have the full sized Obsidians from Xraypad. They are rly good for glass! I still would recommend to get dot skates for glass however, like the new obsidian airs for example.
Hey, i have a question, did you tried the hayate otsu? If you tried, which pad between hien and hayate otsu is better for you, i see in the page that artisan says that the hayate otsu is a improved hien model.
Yeah I have mained the Hayate otsu soft the longest from all the pads. It’s slightly more controlled than hien soft and smoother, which I prefer over the coarse texture on the Hien. Both are however goated pads and some like the additional feedback from the hien surface.
