Until you actually own one and drive one and realise its the best wrx ever made. People who actually rally their wrx or drive in deep snow for half the year know how much protection the cladding offers. As a previous 2017 VA owner my new VB beats it in every way.
I also had a 17, do you still feel this is a decent upgrade? I sold mine a while back and am looking to get back into one, either the new wrx or the newest sti I can find, hard deciding.
I dont like it at all but thats what car bras are for 😂😂😂 this is for when you, yourself decide to drive off road and kick some rocks up. At least Thats what they say

@@flov-spec7574You know this car probably cost as much as your STI did right? That new loaded TR trim is $42k. Not really, go look on what aftermarket is doing with the VB. Probably the first Subaru engine, you can make good power on without it blowing up. Lol
I have a 22 WRX GT with an exhaust, tune, recaro bucket seats, and some STI trim pieces, while it is an automatic it is extremely fun whether I’m off-roading or on the street, all you need is an exhaust and it sounds amazing!
Cloth seats are under rated. Back in the 80’s Buick had bucket seats that were pillowed. Talk about comfortable. It was like sitting on a huge cotton ball.
Definitely underrated. Doesn't get hot as holy hell fire in the summer and colder than a witch's titty in the winter. And personally cloth has held up better over time for me than leather.
I got a WR blue premium with the moon roof and Harmon Kardon upgrade. Also added in a bunch of extras that made the final cost $40k. Absolutely love this car. Looks the most like a rally car that the WRX has in years. It also sounds significantly better if you opt for the STi muffler upgrade or an aftermarket exhaust

@@ralkia Yeah because most people are sheep and follow the crowd, you are allowed to change your opinions. It's not like car people have never been wrong... Not like some of the most legendary cars throughout history have been slept on. Car people are wrong... really often.
32k for a base. You could get one for 32k for a premium with out moonroof and sound system if dealer is willing to negotiate . Maybe in warmer states you could get that same trim package at 32k. That trim is more like 35k
They ever sort that engine out? It was known for being sporty (at least the STI) but fairly fragile. I think it’s awesome you can still get this with a true manual and 4wd. The looks aren’t my favorite but I appreciate them toning it down a little.
It looks significantly better on black and dark grey wrx because it matches the cladding colour. Can confirm as coworker has dark grey. Saw one in orange it definitely was way wprse.

I bought a 2021 with tints, aftermarket STI exhaust and some additional add-ons about two weeks ago and love it. Almost got a ‘22 but I really disliked the styling.
I work at Subaru, i never thought i would want a Subaru. But this really is a nice car in person, i love driving them around at work. I honestly want one. If u like driving stick, youll love it once u behind the wheel
Wish it came with a hatchback and manual STI option w/ comparable horsepower to canceled focus, RS. STILL, I like the current WRX manual here, and would totally daily drive it.
Everyone talks about how the back looks like a civic but when you put the two next to each other they actually look very different. Also something I learned was the tail lights are designed to look like magma flowing through them when they’re on, and up close yeah it looks really cool.
My first car was a 02 automatic wrx sedan.. drove it for about a year or so off and me being dumb n young I killed the motor but not before I slapped a sti wing on it the week before… also regret not muffler deleting for that rumble. It was a very fun and nice car to own but I wouldn’t never own another again but love to see them around
Test drove one and it blew me away. I've test drove both previous WRX and STi. The new Gen WRX felt like it sits in between the old WRX and STi, even though the numbers haven't changed much. The car's so much nicer to live in and there's definitely still a point of buying this car, especially these aren't marked up like hell when compared to the new BRZ. I hated that center screen on the new outback, but subaru definitely upgraded it for the new WRX. Definitely more responsive than the ones in the Outbacks. My only complaint for this car? WHY NO STi with this much potential?!
The only thing I wish mine had was a panoramic roof. The moon roof is very 2010. It's about time Subaru stepped into the modern times with this. I'd love to have had a larger glass roof, but I love the car nonetheless. 43k CAD for a fully loaded Sport Tech (I think you call it a Premium)
Literally every time a new wrx came out in recent years, people hated it and said things like "the older one looks better." blah blah blah, then people slowly start to like it
How in the hell could you not be a fan of the WRX when it first came out or anytime in between then and now? I could understand not liking the looks for certain eras, but the performance has been there every single year
The WRX does not sell itself on its Rally heritage anymore. This, since as I understand things, it is not being officially raced in the WRC or similar series anymore. Much like "Muscle Cars" have not a Trans-Am Racing Series to sell themselves off of. I am guilty of comparing the WRX and to the Lan Evo as Japan"s "Mustang V Camaro", two cars that are very similar that seem to push each other in and out of sanctioned competition. But in that, without the Lan Evo or some similar car to really rival against, the WRX is waning. I also understand that Subura or Fuji Heavy Ind. is not really keen on the WRX and hasn't been for a while, much like when Ford SERIOUSLY considered axing the Mustang in the 80s. GM likewise over the Corvette also in the 80s. And I am not sure exactly what people mean by saying the WRX is "ugly". I have always found beauty in its function and the car looked great for what it is and does. It does prevent the car from having that "generically pretty" look most cars have these days. Also, other than the Lan Evo X, pretty much all Lan Evos were "Meh" to "UGH". The "then and gone" European Rally marques tended to look good though. But at least the Europeans KEPT MAKING THEM, FORD!
The used car market is the only place I look. A habit I got into before I got into money. Now it just feels like burning cash if I were to buy new, when I know I can find a gently used one just as good as new for 50%
