The New Taming Guide YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW in ARK Survival Evolved 

A good basic overview for orienting the new player. I do have some time and effort optimization centric notes for those interested: Narcotic only does slightly more base torpor than the equivalent amount of berries to make it (40 per 1 narcotic instead of 37.5 per 5 narcoberries). Every 3 narcotic effectively saves you 1 narcoberry. Or every 4 narcotics saves you 5 narcoberries. That's important to know because the material savings is low for normal amounts used per average tame (say 60-140). They're needed for tranq arrows and darts of course. But until a player gets to the level of having a chemistry bench the main benefit of making narcoberries into narcotic isn't the savings on mats vs. effectiveness. It's that it doesn't expire. Now if a player is spot taming (no prep; see it tame it kind of thing) making narcotic to use for keeping a tame knocked in most cases is wasted effort. You only need to make enough for arrows or darts to down the creature. Spending that extra time to rot the meat and make the narcotic (especially if you already have enough tranq arrows and darts) isn't typically worth it. When that time could be better spent building temporary infrastructure ( like spike walls) to protect the creature while it's taming. But if one is determined to make a lot more narcotic than they actually need. A good tip would be that you can 'split all' on stacks of raw so that every single unit that was in the stack has the same expiration time. This means you'll get say 40 spoiled meat after just a few minutes, Instead of waiting a few hours to half rot a few stacks left in a box or something. While Bio Toxin does do 80 base torpor. That's well out of reach for most new players. Also it expires. Most people won't be using it most of the time. It's worth using if you've easy and safe access to it. But it's just good to add that one should have the more realistic expectation that most of the time they'll be working with narcoberries and related products thereof. Same goes for shocking tranqs, prods, harpoon darts etc. The Magnifying glass is waste of engram points given that dododex exists and most people can count. Those engram points are better spent on fishing rod (which actually costs one less engram point than a magnifying glass). Not only in combination with a Chair or Pelagornis can you fish for Blue Prints. But dragging Honey to a rod as it's ammo (holds 1 per rod at any given time) will stop the expiration timer on the honey until it is removed again. With kibble...Just about the only kibble worth having is extraordinary. Even if you don't have a deinonychus farm or bee hives, it's so easy to collect the ingredients from the wild that virtually every other kibble is a waste of time (the thing about higher tier kibble substituting lower tier, works for special care requests on raising babies as well). But something very important to know here is that eggs and kibble only transfer once. That means if you acquired an egg or some kibble on a server. It can only be moved to another server one time (if someone gives you some, assume it can only be used on the server you're on, even if they tell you otherwise. This will save a lot of headache).

Narcoberry are the best form of narcotics for tames with a fast wake up time. This is because narcoberrys have the SLOWEST GAIN PER SECOND FOR TOPOR allowing you to leave the the tame or not have to worry about the tame waking up for much much longer. I believe it is actually 2x longer.. 100 berries = 7500 topor

Help when o hover over the taming tracker it disappears until I look away why? I’m on console to

Know this is a year old but have a question. The tribe in in, private hosted server, has everyone as admins, no admin logging, and everything is tribe owned. I had 3 argys earlier loaded with gear and mats just up and vanish from the game. No disconnect, no removal from tribe, no flee, nothing. I have been flying around for the last 2 hours trying to find them with no luck. No tracker on them nor dino tracking mod. Any advice on how to find them or just say heck with it and move on?

Plz can I get answer of this: I wanted to tame a trike so I went in front of it and started damaging it with a bow and stone arrow, trike died but didn't got unconscious. What to do if it doesn't get unconscious and dies directly It was about lvl 4 with 375 hp

Taming is the biggest part about ark yet it is so long, i hate having to stand there over an hour, it's just boring and I bet most of the player base can agree is the most boring thing about ark
