Nice work, I hope you like this tank more than I do. I’ve had the exact same tank for a while now and I hate it. I honestly can’t wait to get rid of it. I’ll be going for a custom tank next and wouldn’t touch a waterbox if you paid me. Good luck fella 👍
Pretty much everything. Lights, skimmer, wavemakers, Heater controller, Refugium pump and light. Even ran usb powered cabinet lights with motion sensors off the usb plugs. Really nice to see power monitoring and different schedules per outlet!
I just setup the 180.5. Nice tank but the glass scratches very easily. My Red Sea never scratched over many years and the first few weeks I got scratches from the algae scraper.
Beautiful tank! My boss said no to any new tank!! So I have to make due with my 45, but this is the size I would want. I think a 22 high tank allows you to look over it easily which I love the most as I know you too. Thanks for the short video with the most important things being covered instead of these long drawn out videos of tank builds. You and coral euphoria put out the best information out there for sps corals.
Thanks so much Garry. The stand on the waterbox is taller than the Reefer 250, but I can still manage to have a look from the top. But I’ll most certainly need a stool for my top down vids.
Sweet upgrade! I also recently torn down my RSR250 after 5 years, upgraded to a Waterbox 130.4. It's currently going through the cycle so I'll be building my tank along with yours. Good luck to us both!
Happy for you man. I know the stress. I thought about a move for over a year and had a hand truck ready for the move upstairs, but ended up moving twice, but both on ground level. You rehearse it over and over in your mind and always feel like something bad is gonna happen. Moving so many times I can tell you that sometimes things go much smoother than anticipated, but other times there’s some big surprises. You can’t plan too much! Anyway, great looking tank and I’m glad it made it safely! ✊🏼🙌🏼

hahaha - yeah, nerves were wrecked for sure... it was actually a lot harder to move down. The wooden frame gives you a chance to test out the geometry, but nothing prepares you for the effort needed to balance a 300 lb aquarium... tip too forward and the tank once to stand on its side, tip too backwards and the tank wants to fall back flat. Also, you can see through the wooden frame to manoeuvre, but with the tank, the driver is essentially blind... the team has to be your eyes and hands... but we made it! congrats on your build! the 145.5 is a beautiful tank... was on my list as well! thanks for subbing. cheers, amro
Looks like you had room for an ext. overflow box. Why didn't you go with an Innovative Marine instead? They have a line of ext boxes and aluminum stands.
I like the aesthetics of the stands on the waterbox better. Aluminum stand would have been great but the Redsea and waterbox offerings In aluminum were too large to fit down the stairs
@@TheBioReef Have to agree with you. I also considered R/S and Waterbox, ultimately I didn't want a plywood stand that'll warp, and I didn't want a sump that only gives you filter sock options that needed to be modified. Also, not a fan of internal overflow boxes for aesthetics. I figured I'd bite the bullet on the door appearance to get these at a lower cost too. I do like the flat panel look of the doors better on the R/S and W/B design. Wish I/M would get rid of the old folks panelled inlay look and they'd clean up shop.
Darn it - I came here to see some serious plumber’s butt! Oh well, maybe next time.... 😂 Seriously though - that tank and stand are gorgeous. I can hardly wait to see this move forward. 🤩 And PS - I haven’t forgotten about the Orphek lenses, just need to find the time to make the video. I have an idea to make it different from the usual unboxing/demonstration but it needs 3 ppl and 3 simultaneous camera angles so it’s a logistics thing....
I am currently building my Waterbox frag tank stand, I stopped the process because I did not quite understand the difference between the two types of leveling feet, is one for hard floors the other for carpet, or have I missed something? My plan is to place the tank against and external wall in the living room, drill through to the garage and keep all the ATO water etc in the garage. Your tank is looking fantastic!
oh yeah, the white vs. black leveling feet? yeah the instructions were not great (=don't exist :) but i figured it out in the end... the black feet are for the base of the stand which is laminated in black, while the white feet are for the side panels which are white (assuming you ordered the white version). Yikes… so my voice triggered your Alexa… that’s a bit dangerous. This is my first time using Alexa… I though it only responded to my voice… sorry about this will have to watch out for next video
@@TheBioReef Not a big deal :) I too use Kasa products for my tank. Alexa can recognize voices and address you by name, but she doesn't have the type of security in regards to only listening to you. BTW I remember you from the R2R dino days. I see you've excelled considerably in this hobby. Congrats on the new tank. It's beautiful!
