@@skippy336 The new one does have a disk drive though? It's just a different edition of the new console, because there's a digital new version of it, and one with a disk drive.
Let me save you 5 minutes - "The NEW Xbox Series X is here but not really because this is a dummy model and we don't really know anything except there's no disc drive."
I don’t like how companies are trying to go more digital, I know that the disc version will still be an option but the fact that one of the new console options is just “we took away the disc’s” doesn’t sit right with me
@@astro_1335you will own nothing and be happy. They can take away your digital license you paid for, but if you have physical copies then you can just disconnect your console from the internet and play the game that way like how old consoles used to be, games came finished so you could play them offline as often as you wanted, with no subscriptions or company dependency. You actually owned your stuff back then. Now, they want to make games online only so that not only are the only good ones out there will be online games, but they will take all of your private info as often as they want and sell it off. Stop settling and bringing your standards down. The cheapest versions of consoles always had a disc drive.
Digital is just more convenient it’s more portable it’s less hassle etc, now does it suck to not have the physical copy sometimes yes !absolutely there’s no denying that but in this day and age digital is just the way to go. As I previously stated for all the reasons above it is easier and more convenient to go digital. Just imagine turning on your Xbox and not having to worry about looking for the right game grabbing the disc and putting it in there, imagine just turning on you console and the games are already installed on it, imagine not having to worry about scratched discs or anything. Simply put it’s just the more convenient option 👍
@@wesdango6860 I never have to worry about scratched discs because I make it important to take care of them. Most of my discs are flawless now that I’m older, and convenience isn’t a valid factor to be considered if you’re not traveling with the console.
@@jamespendergrass1011 You raise a fair point however I just personally don’t see the need in owning physical games unless I’m going to sell it and get money 💰 from it and I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with collecting games but some people just don’t have the space compacity for it. I just find it more convenient to turn on my Xbox and know that my games are all on there on my Console already installed instead of having to pop one in and then when I’m done with that take that one out and pop in the next it’s just a very time consuming process when I could just turn it on and it’s all there you just switch from one to the other easy as pie 🥧 I beg you go digital and save the migraine
it really should be 1TB base, and 2TB for the X models. COD is about too be 300 damn Gigs, if you can only put 2 or 3 games on your console at a time its going to be annoying as hell.
Get a external drive or a nvme drive. Console has been out for like 5 years. Why you still complaining. You had enough time to put 10 bucks a week toward a drive Bri
What about the all-digital Pony Piss5? And the one with the ability to add a disk, but requires internet servers to activate? Get your head outta your arse.
Honestly they'd be better off having the discless version as the 2TB one, since download-only console means having to store games on the hard drive rather than split between hard drive and physical disc. Makes zero sense to have the 2TB model ONLY be the disc version.
Even games on the disc have to store 100% onto the hard drive to run though. The disc acts as nothing more than a key to start the game that’s already stored on your hard drive. So it’s actually the same.
The Series S didn't even get a colour palette upgrade, it was always white with a secondary black model, only the Series X came in black only until now. This is like "upgrading" from an Xbox 360 to a Google Stadia...
@@BlueEyedVibeChecker they might become a good company a bit later Because the game announcement was awesome I will buy the base model Xbox series s when the games release and get a good rewiew
what's up with discs? few ppl actually use those anymore, why would they waste money and space for legacy components? we just need better consumer protection and do away with anything physical
@@sumomaster5585 you do have a point, digital games you don't truly own the licensed for the games you buy which they could take away. Disc you can persevere, ownership, sell it. Physical media allows you to play the game without internet and could play games from older gen consoles that are compatible.
Mannn that big ass disk-less Series x clone just makes me mad lol if it’s gonna be that size at least make it talk or something. Just a huge box I’d rather build a Pc.
I hate there being no disc drive, only makes Microsoft more 💰and makes it harder for us to buy cheap games or share them with friends/family. For people saying buy the disc version, I did, its not about me its about the whole disk game community being shrunken, which hurts the consumer.
Yes, also games like Forza Horizon 2 & 3 (which are considered some of the best Horizon games) are no longer available digitally unless you already owned them. This leaves physical disk as the only way to purchase them. That and or PC emulator xbox 360 emulator for 2 and piracy for 3 (no other choice).
@@jackieprout2517you realise that people don't game off of discs, we want the drive to play 4K BluRay DVDs because it offers lossless audio and superior image quality compared to streaming services
Everyone knew xbox was releasing a series X digital months ago, this is what they should have done at the start instead of releasing the shitty series S. So this isn’t exactly new news. Xbox say they are committed to physical but whether that’s true or not is a different matter. The only reason why I like physical is because I have a huge collection which is backwards compatible. If they went digital only in the future that would mean having to re purchase most games including some other newer ones which I will definitely not do unless they figure out a system where you can transfer games but knowing Microsoft they wouldn’t do that.
@@corruptedpoison1 Disagree, whilst Microsoft have made a nice little money earner from gamepass its uptake is levelling off now and slowing down, Microsoft believed gamepass would be an infinite growth model and it has proved the exact opposite, its growth is finite and They’ll never remove the option to purchase media even in an all digital future.

@@HIIMUsc Omg that's an awesome price! I paid 439€ for my Xbox Series X last Christmas and I think that was a steal as well (seeing as the base price is closer to 550€)
@@jamespendergrass1011 why then even bother comenting? as a piece of Hardware i like the XBOX more, but i can play Xbox games on my 3000€ gaming PC, i also have a PS5, it does have better games at this time, but i like using the XBOX more and imo there's nothing wrong with liking any "System"...
@@lorddrifter7296 lol my pc itself it's not thousands of dollars.. depending on the monitor and mouse/key but I can upgrade to 2tb Nvme Easily. Let's not forgot that TVs are pretty expensive as well... so a console echo system its as expensive as the pc realm, but with a HUGE limitation. not gonna be a console player anytime soon.
My problem are the controllers. I expected the thumb stick and button upgrades that were supposed to make the controller quieter and remove the stick drift. It’s underwhelming that they are the exact same
Absolutely awful take by Austin trying to pass this off as an "upgrade" honestly not sure what Xbox is thinking, considering the fact the series x ALREADY sold very poorly
I absolutely love the way the new special edition Series X looks. The speckled finish and the green base are just *chef's kiss*. Hopefully they sell the special edition controller separately, it looks great!
I wonder if on the version with a 2 terabyte SSD, TBW (Total Bytes Written) will increase to 800 TBW or will remain 400 TBW as on the old Xbox Series X
Well i have absolutely no interest in digital only, not just because i still get games on disc but because my Xbox is also my designated Blu-ray player for my bedroom. Now I'm in the UK but i presume that the 2tb version will probably still be just as expensive here. And i presume no new tech has been used in the 2tb series X so why spend that when i can just save a bit of money and get a 2tb expansion card instead?
Not going to happening pal, MS is literaly saying buy tge cheaper one, that of course is only digital and the one with disk with 2TB is $600 just crazy, to think PS5 pro will be around $600 to $650.
Im sorry but an all digital series X is a downgrade. Having a disc drive is what makes the series X, the series X. You're better off getting the series S if thats the case
You can buy a rechargeable battery, or just plug in the controller at all times if you don’t want AA Batteries. At least Microsoft gives you options instead of being stuck with only one form of power for the controller.
@tylernielsen24 sonys option is the best though. If Microsoft wants to create a gaming network that includes pc, charging the controller that comes included with the system would make sense.
@@Gmen2487 how do you not understand that the x-box controller + play n charge kit is the superior solution? if the battery degrades over it's lifetime I can just replace it, if a Sony controller does that you have to throw it away and buy a whole new one.
👒 digital consoles are great Microsoft store is keeping track of all payed games etc you can always go back and download payed games etc been working just fine fine for me speak for your self buddy
Besides backwards compatibility, theres not much reason to have a console with a disc drive nowadays due to discs just downloading a digital copy of a game anyways
Exactly. People in these comments clutching their CDs and VHS tapes crying about physical media. Yall gotta get with the times. Majority of games sales are digital. On console and PC. Been this way on PC for decades now
@YoDzOnHalo Nah, don't get me wrong, there IS a good reason for physical media... assuming that it actually holds something besides a license. Older games, movies, music, etc. it serves as preservation. (Assuming people take care of their shit) Now, with MODERN consoles, discs are glorified license keys, so there isn't much reason to use them.
Pointless versions of these consoles. It’s stupid how these companies are killing off physical media whilst pulling some games from their store. Own nothing and be happy about it somehow
@@Garugonthebluedo a quick google search and tell me the percentage of Digital vs Physical sales of Pc and console games for the last 10 years. Majority is digital sells. Especially on PC. Over 85%
That xbox showcase was awesome bruh. If you're not on PC and still favor the console experience it's defiantly worth getting an Xbox unless you don't like the new games like indiana jones, Avowed, perfect dark, gears of war 6, fable, stalker 2, Doom the dark ages etc all day one on gamepass... The Value of Gamepass is just getting better and better.
Doesn't it make more sense to make both consoles 2 TB or at least the new disc less version since it's going to be download only? If you're going all digital you want the most space Right? 🤔
