Funny thing is that yes this sled has 180hp when its brand new but after you have done the essential first 500-700km breaking the engine the horsepower will be closer to 190-200. What a dream machine.
After here this, and many , many , reviews, Yamaha just does not get the credit they deserve for what they Bring to Snowmobiling.... I don't want to hear any crap either about " You are a YamaHead" I have owned them all, every make Polaris , Ski Doo, Artic Cat , and Yamaha ... To see the out of the box thinking and accomplishments that have made with the Viper and SideWinder is Wow... the Partnering with Artic Cat and how well it has turned out for the overall "Product to Market" is outstanding... Even the things they have done right out to the last year with the Apex .... IS WOW... the liquid sway bar approach.. dang ..... NONE of the Snowmobile Manufactures are perfect and they all have there faults .... Don't even get me started there... But One thing I have seen a lot of over the past 3-4 years , is not much love going to this Innovative team... and whether you love them or you hate them .... Their push, keeps all the Manufactures going... Hello 850's .... Kudos to Yamaha for yet another game changer ... Love what I am seeing......
BlueReaper 6.4 are you sure? brp sells more ace engines than yamaha sells 4 stroke snowmobile engines. Yellowstone national park don't allow snowmobiles with more than 67db noise level.

Does it not bother you that you know way more about what the presenter is talking about then him? I bet ypu could've thrown that Yamaha shirt on after reading the brochure for 5 minutes and done a better job (no offense to him).
a very common thing these days. salesmen rarely spend any time learning the product...they just want to collect the money. 20 mins in the brochure, and you know more. that boost valve...lol. and three throttle bodies! ive never seen a single throttle body on a turbo unit except for a car.
Unique to this package is this blow of valve? Well i thought that blow of valves aint that unique on snowmobiles? I suppose every MCXpress vipers, nytros and apexes out there is unique aswell then? just as my nytro mcxpress turbo is unique cause it has a blow of valve :D
Wait wtf did this guy just say? "once the vehicle is upset, the fuel pumps shut off" 6:05. He is talking about when the sled rolls over and oil getting into various parts of the engine. The fuel pump has nothing to do with this issue, again this guy really isnt too sure about what he is saying.
And lastly, the blow off valve.... the engineers at yamaha did not just magically make this up one day, it is actually called a re-circulator valve and has been around for decades!
well, let's just make it a thing.. in 2016 yamaha invented the re-ciculated bov valve located on pretty much every vehicle with a turbo.. #patentwar? :-)
it will spray oil on the bottom of the pistons....will help keep the Pistons cool under lots of boost.... Factory turbo cars have been doing it for years....along with like the Honda V-tec...
Anyone have any tips for setting up elka stage 5 shocks on an iqr 600 I have an ex racer and the shocks really stiff a haven't done anything to them but do I need to send them in to get them halved or can I just set them up for trail riding
Handy Andy since they are racing shocks they are valved very stiff, you can turn the high speed and low speed knobs down to softer settings and try it out, but chances are they will need to be revalved
Handy Andy youll have to send them but you can send them to any shock builder, hygear suspension, blommel motorsports, ect, just depends on what area you're in
eh... still a heavy turd at the end of the day .. ill stay with my sub 400 lb rmk with 164 hp than go back to a yammy built like a tank but its nice to see them at least making an effort in the power to weight ratio.
radioactiveload I wouldn't know I'm not really into snowmobiles that much. only snowmobile I rode once was some sort of Polaris or something... I'm more of 2 stroke dirtbikes, quads,and motorcycles.
