This FO found iHart and Donte and made them into valuable pieces. They were able to draft a player like Deuce and turn him into an impact player / in-a-pinch starter. I think this FO will find a way to replace Donte.
The east is getting ready to become very interesting. Yes the Celtics are the best team at the moment without Porzingis. But now the car, Anthony towns in New York and the Bucks with Lillard and Giannis and the Sixers with Joel Embiid and PG this is going to get wild in my opinion.

More tradable contracts too. Fans need to understand how detrimental it is to be over the 2nd apron in the current NBA. Wolves ridding themselves of KAT's inevitable contract for an expiring in Randle and a very tradable contract in Dante is great going ahead. I know people want them to run it back, but they only had one year window of that happening. With this, they can utilize more of ANT's prime instead of hoping on a miracle this year. I mean, they lost 1-4 to a team that got 1-4'd... If they're winning this year, it's injury luck, and they'd win regardless of having KAT or not if that happens.
What are you even on about? Mitchell Robinson is expected to miss time at the beginning of the season and will probably get hurt again. Knicks should’ve included him in this trade instead of Donte.

I think the starting 5 of Towns, Anonoby, Bridges, Hart, and Brunson will be nearly impossible to defend and all 5 are nearly 40% or better from behind the arc. The spacing that can be created will allow the knicks to have one of the sickest offenses the world has ever seen assuming they stay healthy.

I haven't even watched the video... only heard the 1st part nd I can tell u they won't be any better. Its a less than lateral move. U basically took a 3pt shooting sniper and a 25 10 nd 4 pf making 30m a year and replaced it with a guy who doesnt give u better numbers than jr numbers-wise, isnt tough pr gritty when your identity has been toughness, who has 3years left at like a 55m per avg nd who all he does better than randle is shoot 3s which isn't what I want my starting center doing anyway. Knicks lost some ability to spread the floor, toughness, defense, chemistry and dontes championship experience all in one trade smh Also, that move would've made more sense if it happened 2months ago ad it'd give the guys time to practice together and gain some sort of chemistry together. Not sure I like this Trade... Kat has always been tissue paper soft in the playoffs for sure. I get the offense side of things... What about DEFENSE!!! This is a HUGE problem for him all his career.
I can really appreciate this trade because of Miles McBride. This opens up a roster rotation that will allow him to play because of Donte being traded. We’ll now see him play to his full potential!! A+ 👍🏾🔥
I have no doubt that the Knicks could be good. It’s just how often do teams get put together and then win that year. I just don’t think they could beat a Boston or Dallas or Denver. But I’m not saying they can’t make it to the finals or conference finals. But besides Boston who else has acquired 2 Allstar caliber players (Bridges and KAT) and won that year.
As a Knick fan you have to put your emotions a side and realize we couldn’t win a championship with a all star big man that can shoot the three. I am sad to see Randal and Dante go and wish them the best moving forward and thank them for all they done for the team.
Depending on certain matchups I could see tibs starting or being quick to put Mitch in.. they will have elite play at the center position.. they could even play both at the same time
i dont think knicks can beat the celtics in a 7 game series ngl. i just dont think the defence strong enough the knicks offense going to be crazy though but the celtics outdo them with everything and thats if they even make it to the finals. kats a shoot first big helps with spacing on offense a lot but he doesnt guard the rim well or even defend well considerably the teams so weak defensively. idk at the same time randle is a brick so trading him is good kats far superior but just like randle hes completely inconsistent in the playoffs and one above average playoff series this season where he again showed inconsistency just doesnt convince me. i can see teams completely running through them. the mavs offense was great last season but against the celtics it showed how strong teams need to be defensively idk thats just my thoughts. idc i hate the knicks i just think theyve traded their entire future away for nothing
Kat is soft and makes stupid fouls all the time, plus he chokes most of the time in the playoffs..check out his stats in the conference finals. wolves are better off in the long run with the $$ flexibility
I don't see it. Throughout his career, KAT at the 5 has been mixed, and he's been incredibly inconsistent in the playoffs. His shooting nosedived in the WCF just last year. Meanwhile, their bench has less depth in losing DiVincenzo, but more importantly, they disrupted the NOVA chemistry. This could backfire if they sustain injuries like they did last year in the postseason.
They actually did not lose depth, because now they have Tyler Kolek and Cam Payne added this year. Along with Deuce McBride on the roster, Dante would have gotten little playing time and it would have been all off the bench.
@@mrmrlee Thibodeau is famous for reducing his lineups in the playoffs, more aggressively than other coaches. I didn't think Kolek is going to see a lot of playing time in the playoffs unless he's a stud, and we just don't know that yet. Donte was proven, so Kolek should not be considered as an addition right now. They lost a reliable, 40% 3 point shooter off the bench, that's losing depth, especially when you consider how mangled they were against the Pacers.

The Knicks have 3 Elite defenders in the starting 5. Anunoby, Bridges, and Hart. They will be just fine on defense. Hart was getting like 14 rebounds+ a game in the playoffs. He went beast mode on the glass. The Knicks have a scary team. The bench depth is a question mark though. But their starting 5 will hang with anyone in the league. They are a scary roster.
Randle has come a long way by NOT playing in knicks fans eyes. Because he was hurt I guess we forgot….Randle sucks. He dominates the ball is streaky and whines. We went as far as we did because we didn’t have him. He’s a volume scorer. Kat will play in flow with everyone else. Kat is 100 percent better

You gotta make sacrifices to win, the Villanova 4 was great but playing favorites doesn't always win plus the injury concern for the Knicks were a problem, Randle still wasnt ready! Now Mitch doesnt have to play a ton of minutes & risk injury again or dirty Embiid trying to injure him😅
You massivly oversell Kat in this break down. You fail to mention his effort level which is really low , hes not a killer, doesnt play like his true size requires as hes scared to be physical and lastly THE MOST important. His basket ball IQ is at the dumb dumb level. Hes 28, hes not changed his game and the more pressure you put on him the dumber he gets. I think the KAT trade is a gamble for the Knicks its an knee jerk reaction to clearly wanting to offload Randal. The Celtics are very easily beatable. You just need work horse defenders to be consistanty in their faces defending the shooting. Tatum is an amazing shooter but if you rattle him hes psycologically weak. Get in his head get him overthinking his shooting and hes done. KAT to succeed needs to really push his defensive game up to the next level and make it hard for these shooters. I just dont feel he has the legs he just seems unfit or lazy

Not really, Im a Timberwolves fan. KAT is the biggest playoff liability. He is always in foul trouble and needs many many shots to get into a rhythm which shooters don’t need. He got better defensively this year but who knows if that will carry over. Also he is a big who does not like to play in the paint, I don’t think that’s good either. He’s 171 million for a top 30 player? That’s too much

To me Knicks players were only good because the Nova players were together. so breaking that up now the remain ones will be pumpkins. Kat will be grinded to dust by coach. Tibbs is not Kats body. Both teams significantly worse today.
I hate that they gave up Donte. This is why you don't trade from a position of weakness. They could have just waited until the trade deadline playing small ball lineup with Juliis at Center and waited for Mitch to return. This way, they don't have to include Donte.

Personally I like it for both sides. The double big wasn’t working in Minnesota as now with Randle to play the 4 that will be great. But also for the Knicks you can’t argue that KAT isn’t a great fit
It's gonna come down to health. A healthy Kat is an asset. He doesn't need to carry an offensive load. He doesn't need to carry defensive load. Imagine a pnr with Brunson and KAT or a 3 man game with mikal in there
