Bro he is a delusional Boston fan they had by far one of the weakest playoff runs in modern history i give them credit for winning the chip but let's be real on how they got there
Today I learnt that Donte DiVincenzo is Steph Curry. Because the amount of people losing their minds over the Knicks losing him is insane..... 'Nova Knicks'....please 🙄. New York is trying to win titles here, not sell slogans.
@@JP-pp2tn It's certainly better than DiVincenzo. And it's not like Randle was doing that much for them either. In a league where there is the chance you run into players like Embiid, Porzingis, Chet, Jokic and Giannis if you want to win, you need size. Especially as they had lost Hartenstein and were already light in their big rotation.
@@Pacmaneman lmao what does this even mean, the timberwolves beat the nuggets last year, and KAT has a career year. The knicks trade for Mikal, have a good team with great chemistry. Then you swap him and Julius, knicks at best got slightly better. Idk wtf the timberwolves were thinking.
@@TheRightSide-2100! that’s how you know people haven’t been watching wolves basketball. Naz is a direct replacement for Kat. Ideally, Randle works out and Naz holds 6th Man. If Randle don’t workout with his more desirable contract, we can move him to strengthen our bench. The kicker is getting Donte. We lucked out on getting him given what he can do and how good his contract is.
@@tyronetangata-makiri9323 yeah true. I think they'll put Randle on the bench bro. They can't have spacing issues with Randle and Gobert. Naz is a way better fit in the starting line-up. And yes, they might just move Randle if someone is willing to take it on.
This current Knicks teams definitely matchup with Boston Celtic idk wtf you talking. The Knicks literally have 2 players on the roster that are 2-way players that can give you 25-30 points on any night and lockdown your best players than you have Josh hart coming off the bench who can give you 15 rebounds for a small guard and then we have one of the best defensive center in the NBA. Yeah the Knicks definitely match up with the Celtic
Your green gills are showing. Way to biased. Not loving the KAT trade, but to say you take the knicks matchup everytime? Hmm careful what you wish for...
Hi! Knicks fan here. I take it you’re a Boston fan. Congratulations on another championship! You guys are excellently constructed and are a force on both offense and defense. Also, coach Mazzulla is brilliant. I think you guys actually have another level to reach if Tatum regains his pull up jumper (29.8% on pull ups in the playoffs. For context Giannis shot 29.6% on pull ups last season). The first three games of the finals, after the series was pretty much decided with a 3-0 lead, Tatum’s shooting percentages from 2p and 3p were identical to playoff Julius Randle! (No, seriously, I shit you not). And you still won 🤯So definitely can take a step up! With Kat now enabling NY to utilize 5-out spacing and match KP, while adding arguably the best defensive wing duo in Mikal and OG, do you believe the Knicks have enough to pull off an upset or do you see Boston as a foregone conclusion to represent the East in the finals?
@chrisstfort7 Definitely wouldn't say forgone conclusion because the Knicks have great cohesion and tenacity but I would be concerned about KAT when it comes to going against an Embiid or even a healthy KP. I think he lacks the will on defense to be effective against elite bigs but honestly it depends on the match ups and defensive schemes Thibs puts together. Huge Boston fan my whole life but these Knicks are live. I just hope losing Divencenzo for KAT (who I'm not sure wants to be there given the surprise to him) doesn't become a chemistry issue overall, but I do think Brunson is enough of a leader to mitigate that
@@mdrosario17 That’s great analysis! KP, Embiid and Giannis do worry me but hopefully Thibs can mask Kat’s deficiencies on defense and play to his strengths. I’m also excited to finally see Brunson playing in a 5-out scheme with the lane unclogged for once. I foresee him putting up similar numbers but better efficiency. As for chemistry, I don’t think it will be an issue, the culture has been established already and the focus for everyone is winning. Too many dogs to falter. We shipped Donte and Julius to a contender so they can compete as well. Boston is the clear cut favorite and it’s rare a championship team has a chip on their shoulder. You will be even better. This will be an interesting season.
This trade gonna fuck them both up. KAT at the 5 against the big guys of the east and the wolves who lose that spacing that KAT gave them + Randle not being locked in defensively.
KAT upgrades 3 of the Knicks 4 needs; Defensive Rebounding, 3 Pt Shooting, & Center Depth. The only weakness it doesn't address is overall depth (losing DiVincenzo) but Thibs prefers a shorter rotation anyway, and Bridges is a huge upgrade from Donte. 🙂
It makes perfect sense Donte DiVincenzo could be their point guard because their point guard is old and they can put Naz Reid in for cat and Julius Randle will be off the books by the end of the year both sides won
@@donkeyeater6942 I don't know either but like that's the only place he fits in unless he's going to be a combo guard off the bench Maybe they planned for Anthony Edwards to be a point guard and I future I really don’t know but he is good piece
@@juicebox7705 it’s worth freeing up pf for naz Reid to start And it frees up cap space get them a good offensive guard add a first round pick which they are short on because of the Rudy Gobert trade
Every sport is a business first. There's always a Narrative. The Narrative this year is the Knicks. Warriors vs Knicks Finals!! Boston will not repeat!
Real Knicks fans aren't saying we're better off without Randle the fake knicks fans are weird I never wanted this trade because KAT is soft inside I just wanted them to give it a chance with Randle
@timsweeney684 That's where the shooting of the Wings comes into play. They both shoot 38% from 3 & are 3 level scorers. As well as Josh Hart averaging 11 rebounds/game last season. Plus Robinson being one of the best offensive rebounders in the league. And that's presuming they make no moves at the Deadline.
You are extremely biased. Im not even a Knick fan 😂 Kat is the best shooting big in the league and he is much better playoff performer than Randle was. He is arguably better than KP.
See, the issue is, Karl's most important matchup in the east is Joel Embiid. Who has averaged 29 10 and 3 on 51 46 82 splits in their 11 matchups. And if anything, I think Embiid is an even worse matchup for him than Jokic, cause Karl is very foul prone on both sides of the floor in the playoffs, and Embiid specializes in getting to the line. Plus, he's not getting help from the positional depth of Reid and Gobert in New York. I'm not a sixers fan, so I have no dog in the race. I think this helps them keep up with the Celtics, however I feel like there are teams in the east that can and will punish him on defense before they could even get to the Celtics. I also think Indiana with Pascal siakam and Turner could cause problems. Pascal likes to drive to the basket a lot, and KAT doesn't have the best backpedaling nor is he particularly quick on the ball. Also, I feel like the defensive performance Minnesota had against Jokic was more Jokic fatigue and slump causing him to miss threes than the timberwolves executing some handcuff defensive scheme to hold him back. Cause Jokic got to shots he's hit, he just didn't hit them. He shot 29% from 3 in the playoffs last year after shooting 46% the year before and having a career average of 39% in the playoffs. And last year, he averaged the same number of attempts as he does for his career, so it wasn't like he was dealing with different volume. We saw him shoot just as poorly from 3 in the Olympics, and that was without the timberwolves apparently venerated defense. Not trying to be negative or a hater, but I just think people are overreacting to the one playoff series of his career where Karl appeared to play good defense.
Yeah, he'll be getting help from OG and Mitchell Robinson.... It's not like he'll be totally defenseless. Thibs will have defensive strategies to at least make Embiid work a bit. He'll still get his, but a few possessions making him work will pay off in the long run. And then you look at how KAT opens up the floor on the other end compared to Randle and it's an upgrade.
Kay won’t be guarding them though it’ll be Mitch and even if he is it’ll be like an ad thing where he’s only the “primary” defender so the better defender can roam.
@@bronxshenanigans5302 I'm sorry, but given the fact that Robinson has played 59 games and 31 games in the last two seasons, I think it's dubious at best to assume he'll be there in the playoffs. Especially considering he's not even going to be healthy for the start of the season. I think everyone forgot that even when he wasn't healthy, Embiid was averaging like 30 12 and 5 against the Knicks in the playoffs. The margins were very slim in that series, and Karl is already a consistently poor playoff performer. His three point shooting alone drops from basically 40% to 35% in the postseason. And his previous matchups with Embiid have him consistently performing below his career averages and efficiency. As someone from the west coast who has watched a ton of Western conference basketball, it's been well known round here that Karl tends to struggle against strong, big bodied centers when he's the lone big on the floor. Given the only other big on the roster is Mitchell Robinson, even if Robinson is healthy enough for the playoffs their minutes will probably be staggered. And the sixers are absolutely gonna be better than last year with the addition of Paul George, who even with his playoff woes I'd consider to still provide more consistent playoff value than Harden did. Plus, this will be KATs second time playing under Thibs, and we all know how that first stint ended. When he was coached by Thibs in the playoffs, KAT only managed 15 points a game. I just feel like this move has classic Dolan Knicks written all over it. And with KATs huge contract, I'm just saying, don't be surprised if he ends up being another Alan Houston
@@greyklopstock7155 ok no problem we’ll put OG on embiid to lock him up just like we did the last 3 games of the playoff series if worst comes to worst lmaoo no one cares about philly lil bro
Randle is garbage but he has an expiring deal and the Timberwolves want to get under the second apron. They'll keep him for the year, let him go and then they can keep all of their young pieces.
Fine trade for new york, kat is good and definitely better than randle. Good big, especially since robinson is out for a while. Sucks to see the nova knicks broken up after 2 months lmao. For the twolves, it feels like randle’s fit is worse than what KAT’s is next to gobert. Divincenzo is great for depth, but i struggle to see the real vision here for the twolves. Seems like a money trade that will make them regress as ant is progressing, unless KAT was actually just a net negative or randle is much better than expected
@@Juan_rivera people weren’t saying they were the nova knicks last year, the point was all of these guys got together after mikal was in brooklyn last year.
Solid move for both teams. I don’t love it and I agree on the moving the needle argument but I definitely see the reasoning behind it for both sides. Knicks needed more scoring and size. Wolves needed to get out from under that contract, while getting a solid return. They have a ton more flexibility after this next season, especially if Randle opts out of his player option.
If you do not have a top 8 player in the league, you will not win a championship 98% of the time. I am a NY Knick fan. Brunson and ANT are in the interchange top 11-15 range. ANT or Brunson needs to level up to top 8 to win a chip
Timberwolf built the past team to beat Denver and they did just that so i don’t think there’s any problems about team building. Kat really solve Knicks big men and moving aways from JR actually show that they want to win. I personally think they will win
All the Timberwolves want is to get under the second apron, winning a championship is not part of the plan this year. A lot of recent trades were about getting under the second arpron and we're going to see a lot more moves like this until the CBA changes.
The Knicks, despite having an excellent off-season, lost Hartenstein. They needed help in their front court, especially at Center. Jericho Sims wasn't the answer, and Julius Randle was the tradable asset. The Knicks get one of the best Big Men in basketball and I Love Dante, but people need to stop acting like he was Kyrie Irving in his prime. This was a good trade.
Knicks have og so Randal doesn’t fit and Donte forces hart to come off the bench. Twolves have three allstar caliber bigs. Seems like it makes sense for both teams.
Let’s get this straight, the logical Knick fan loved Randle (yes very much had his ups and downs) and jt sucks he’s gone, happy KAT is in equivalent talent
We went from contenders to just another good time with this trade Knicks always take one step forward and ten back I went from being excited to see the season start to not even wanting to stop Knicks are fuxking dumb
Im one of few fans who didnt want knicks to trade randle, hes the one who strarted this knicks turnaround, and he got so much better as being a teammate.
The C’s are getting smoked by the knicks. Brunson is a better offensive player than the J’s and the knicks got the 2 best wing defenders too slow the mid offense J’s down. Sporsingus isn’t that much better than KAT and hart and white are on the same level. Mitchell Robinson is better than horford. Knicks in 6
jrue is the best defender on both teams. the Cs gonna go midget huntin on brunson, and CAT and the other ny bigs are gonna play like sissys. knicks loose in 6. 50yrs and countin`...
On Earth. Mitchell is a great rim protector and can guard bigs who are not very skilled. Put him against a skilled big man and he gets absolutely cooked. He has always had issues with foul trouble too. My fellow Knicks fans don’t like to admit this. But yes, he’s flawed but still an overall excellent defender.
@@1992laaguila permeated? You mean perimeter? Anyways, Mitch wasn’t the only one giving him fits. Precious and OG guarded him well. But regardless, they all defended him decently because Embiid was hurt. You don’t know ball. Be quiet.
@@Okieant bruh been watching ball since starbury. Yeah they defended wel too but in the paint embiid was more frustrated than normal. Don’t act like Mitch doesn’t defend embiid better than 29 other centers
Donte DiVincenzo could be their point guard because their point guard is old and they can put Naz Reid in for cat and Julius Randle will be off the books by the end of the year both sides won
Stop saying Knicks fans think Randle didn’t fit. The major Knicks fans liked Julius here and saw how well he played last season. Especially after we got OG and went 12-2 in January. Most Knicks fans don’t like this trade because we feel we gave up too much. 🤷🏽♂️😊
Brunson vs Jrue vs Maxey Hart vs Derrick White vs Caleb Martin Bridges vs JB vs Oubre OG vs JT vs PG KAT vs KP vs Embiid This is if all teams are fully healthy, and the benches probably go 1. Philly 2. Boston 3. Knicks This is coming from a Celtics fan
I didn't like Randle because of how bad he falls off in the playoffs. What good is being a star in the regular season if you are trash in the playoffs.
@@qwertyuiop123456459fam enough with this narrative. He played in 2 playoffs with us. The first one he was playing with me, you, and BSOLZ and Nate McMillan literally just focused his whole defense around him and none of Julius’ teammates couldn’t hit shots. Then 2 seasons ago he played on an ankle that needed surgery because Bam Adebayo jumped on his back with 5 games left in the season. He hasn’t had a real shot at the playoffs with a real team.
The real question is coach thibs gonna like karl anthony towns😮💨. KAT YOU ON THE EAST COAST NOW WE PLAY DEFENSE ON THIS COAST. WE OVER PLAY YOU AND PLAY ALOTTA DEFENSE ON THE EASTERN CONFERENCE. DONT DO WHAT DAME DID KAT AND NOT COME OVER HERE AND NOT PLAY DEFENSE
@@Okieant lol yall were better off with randle frfr. Lets just hop kat stay healthy because if he go down whos mitchell robinson back up. Yall gon look crazy playing small ball lol. Yall most deff shoulda kept randle
Nah you got us fucked up. Only Knicks fans that don’t know ball wanted Julius gone. Knicks fans wanted him here. We don’t want KAT. He’s too soft and we need dogs here. We had a whole pack of them. Now we got a bunch and Mister Softee at Center. We don’t like it
How did the Knicks get worse? You rather them run Randle at the 5 than KAT??? And KAT fits better with Brunson because KAT can stretch the floor and leave the lane open for Brunson.
