In 1962, the BBC Light Programme was on air Mondays to Saturdays from 6.30am until Midnight, and on Sundays from 8.55am until Midnight. News Bulletins aired hourly on the half hour during all of it's broadcasting day, apart from a few exceptions. Most bulletins were 1 to 2 minutes long. only the 7pm and 10.30pm bulletins were longer.
BBC Light Programme always aired their news bulletins on the half hour, as an alternative to the more serious and stodgy news bulletins on the hour on the BBC Home Service.
