Mr. VV is no doubt an ideal banker of this era. Prasad seems to be equally great analyser. He has considered everything while talking about IDFC First Bank except a minor left out point. i.e merger of IDFC LTD with the Bank. IDFC is getting merged in the Bank with quality assets, and will be completed by this FY. Next year is an year which will show the graph of the Bank after merger.

True that IDFC first gave 80% + returns on last one year. But since 2011, until 2022 - it gave negative returns for straight 12 years.

That would be IDFC bank which was an Infra lending bank, IDFC bank merged with capital first in 2016, to form the retail focused IDFC First bank.

Clarification......I invested in original IDFC back in 2011 at 150 per share. This then got demerged into IDFC and IDFC Bank at same value. So my buying price of IDFC and IDFC bank was 75 during 2011. Both these companies crossed 75 rupee mark in late 2022. So you can imagine my concern of getting 0 return for 11 years. Just to let you know when I invested in 2011, people were saying IDFC is the next HDFC 😃

I saw a video of Sandeep maheshwari where he said that he had investment in a bank which fits his own checklist of investing and that bank is doing very good. I looked for the bank name in comment section where many people guessed it might be IDFC FIRST BANK. And below that video i got the recommendation of this video which is also about IDFC Bank 😅 Coincidence or PR?

Prasad was talking about VV's retirement, there is no clear successor yet, although it is early but there's no guarantee that he will continue for 10 more years. Kotak bank is going through the similar situation, Uday Kotak who built Kotak Bank is yet to announce his successor, we wouldn't know of the successor will be able to surpass him.

I think this bank will be the third largest bank in india in next 5-7 years. The bank management is experienced, the name sounds classy and the branch opening is strong. They have enter insurance industry in near future to cross sell, it will be a great prospect for them.

Thx very nice video. At 9.18 min Fund Assets 73051 in 2018 and 154830 in 2023, CAGR mentioned is 6.99% but as per calculation it turn out to be apx. 16% CAGR.

Hi Prasad, what about IDFC & IDFC FIRST Bank Merger? While you mentioned about Infra loan reduction, wouldn't the merger of IDFC & IDFC first Bank do the opposite? Wouldn't the Retail loan book of IDFC First Bank be dwarfed by IDFC Ltd.'s Infra loan book?

I have purchased your every course. After viewing that . I analysed idfc first on my own . Acc. To my analysis company is still not making profits from the financing part. Other income at the end tends to make company profitable. And company to have big amount of contingent liabilities. These were the concerns . Rest everything was perfect about the bank.
