The next Sims 4 expansion pack is NOT what I expected

Key words that struck me were : build apartments - Eastern europeans will LOVE that, and "breaking and entering " love that as well

I need this to not be broken. Just a wonderful, polished pack that is beautiful and functions. Please just this one time and I'll never talk about mermaids again.

Just like how future content will be available for rent, not purchase.

When it talked about two families living together that was specifically in context of Duplexes which are dual family residence. Based off wording it appears that this is just one option. In The Sims 2 Apartment Life you could have unlimited residence (as long as your computer could handle it and the lot had space), only four of which could be used by playable sims. The rest were filled by townies. You could, however have an apartment lot that only had two “apartments”, a duplex. Or you could do side by side town houses and have each be an “apartment”. It sounds like this will allow you to decide how many apartments you want and if they will be real apartments or things such as duplexes or townhouses.

For a second there I was hoping there would be dual shops with rentals above it! That would have been great, walking down from your apartment to the coffee shop you own and run

Breaking and entering - the only way I would be okay with this feature is if EA bring back the burglar! This would be such a great nostalgic addition ❤❤ and ofcourse with the iconic burglar sound 🥰 It gave me nightmares in my Sims 1 era.

If the world is called Tomarang - it could be a play on "(travel) to Marang" - Marang is a town in Malaysia 😊

The Potluck is probably a new type of party. Your guests will probably show up with a dish of food to share. In America Potlucks are common at churches. There is often little planning going into who brings what, though sometimes an organizer can make a list where party members sign up for bringing what courses. The Sims though probably won't have that level of sophistication.

Burglars coming back is my big prediction for this pack

I have a theory that in the base game update (before they release the pack) they will create a "semi-open world" system where nearby lots in a neighborhood don't have as many loading screens

A potluck is a gathering of different families or whoever to eat a big meal. Every group brings a different dish or drinks. They’re pretty nice…sometimes (I’m not a partier)

Honestly this sounds like the exact pack I’d buy. Out of all the new ones, this is one I’d actually enjoy playing.🤦🏻 but now I gotta wait probably like a year and a half before it’s on sale completely…

I know we hardly know anything about this but it's gonna be really disappointing if this new rental zoning situation is possible (ie: basement suite is designated as an apartment under another household) but we're not getting resort/hotel functionality. We'll probably have to leave it to the modders for this one :/

I’m just hoping we FINALLY get terraced houses so I can represent my IRL living situation as a British kid in TS4, no more unrealistically huge detached houses for me 😅

Potlucks are where guests will bring different foods to someone’s home or workplace and enjoy variety of foods. So yummy

Idk I think it sounds like an appropriate amount of content for an EP. Being a landlord and creating your own apartments is a big deal. Especially if this brings back burglars.

I am so excited to hear about this pack! I've wanted more apartments since Eco Lifestyle only adding two buildings. The addition of duplexes and basement suites sounds great too. I'm going to try to be reserved in my excitement though, because packs have been coming out in very buggy, sometimes broken, states...

Can never be enough videos from one of my favorite Sims Content creators! As for the expansion pack it looks like alot of good features are coming. I'm still going to be reserved and download that mod you suggested earlier until further information is available.

also, it says you can do a Duplex (a two family home in one dwelling, with a common wall seperating the units) OR build apartments. so more building opportunities available. btw, I love your TS4 vids, Satch. :)

Potluck is a gathering or party that serval party members bring something to contribute to the party. Like host would do the main course normally the most expensive meal optional and guests are allowed to bring side dishes and desserts for the party.some guest would even bring drinks for the guest. It’s very common actually

2:10- botanical garden with a spirit reminds me of the sims 3 Arboretum. Where you can search for fairies and stuff. I was hoping for Fairies. (We do have the Sylvan Glade in Sims 4) Maybe it’s still on the table. I do still play sims 3 so I get my fairy fix. I’m aware of the mod by spinning plumbots, too. We shall see if Fairies comes. I do like getting an open world for sims. It would open up more for the sims. I think packs would work better in an open world setting. Like horses and stuff. It would be iconic tbh to bring back burglars in sims 4. I know there’s a mod for it (it’s quite violent tho) by SAC. They should have just called this City Living Plus 🤣🤣🤣 and made it a game pack

I’m kinda okay with there only being two apartments or whatever? That’s fine, as long as this new Thai world is better than Komorebi. I really like Komorebi, don’t get me wrong, but you can’t really call it a Japanese world when it focuses on _one_ aspect of Japan, one season, and one area out of the whole country. I’m tired of American worlds as an American. They’re mostly the same type of suburb, somewhere vaguely Californian or really west coast-ish. Or just western in general. I just want more diversity lol

I have a feeling it will be like the Sims 3 university pack, where you have a door that the tenant "claims" and whatever's beyond that is their part of the building. I don't know if they'll "hide" the part behind the door, but that would be cool.

I haven't been this excited for a pack since... Well, the last pack that managed to shoot well under my aspirations... all of them I guess?

Talking about potluck there's a หมูกระทะ(basically thai bbq) which is a huge thing in thailand but i doubt it that the sims is gonna do it but that would be cool because it's a popular meal where everyone is eating together.

Im actually reall excited for this pack. Been wanting to own multiple residences! Always have to have like a fake store to do so, or the realtor mod which they be acting crazy in

maybe the duplex will be like roommates in discover university where sims can live together but you don't have to control them or it will be like eco lifestyle where they had apartments but much smaller????

It sounds more like they are adding duplexes or trailer parks based on a large lot. But at least this means probably doors that are assignable to households.

A duplex to me is like a house with a wall down the middle, more or less mirrored and a garage on either side (glorified townhouse).

This gives me hope for that one big lot in Del Sol Valley in the starter neighborhood, that just doesn't match with the surrounding scenery.

Pot luck we do here in New Zealand, Its where you take a dish to a House your intending to have dinner with Mostly BBQ's adn you take a plate that you pre arranged with those your going to have dinner with in advance, Makes it cheap and easy and normally you end upw ith more food than you intended for left.

what I want to know is can I build an entire lot with the floorplan I want. And then select what part of the lot belongs to what family? and then can I switch betweenthem? I don't care if there's a loading screen I just want to know if I can turn a big lot into a tiny neighbourhood and build my own apartment complex where I can play with the families and not just have them as roommates

Ya know. When they did an apartment pack in the Sims (3 or 2) we got spiral staircases! No potlucks in Britain? It's when people gather and everyone brings a dish. I am guessing you will be able to have 8 sims on your lot and will use special doors to separate each unit.

I did notice the description said you can build a duplex OR apartments. I'm hoping that means you can build an apartment building to house more than 2 households.

I feel like something along the lines of "Bustle For Bills" or "Bustling Bills" would Work better. I mentioned this before but after the "Hustle & Bustle" road map was leaked, Home Chef Hustle took part of that name. It would make more sense to me if the word "Bustle" from "Hustle & Bustle" was in the packs name. "Bustle Those Bills" ...... "Rent to Bustle" ...... "Build and Bustle" etc.

For me this describtions/exps seems very familiar to each other! Like come on how often they bring this market thing back?? (First get to work, city living, cottage living and so on)! Same with this failed or little bit changed apartman life! Like hello city living (you can rent one and can live in an apartman)! Then even eco lifestyle! And you even can live in a dorm! Quite the same gameplay for me… Let’s be honest what was the last time when your sims visited a community lot too?

It say, a duplex to keep two families close, OR, an apartments building. That mean multiple families, one or two player family/families and some NPC families. That letters box look like it's made for about 30 apartments. (I'm guessing 32 or 36) So, an apartment building with over 30 families living there... That's a LOT of Sims ! In Montréal, we have a lot of 2 and 3 stories triplexes : Two floors is 1 apartment at ground level and 3 up stairs. Also, 3 apartments stacked. Also, quadruplexes on two floors. Then, there are a LOT of places where there are 2 or 4 apartments per floor, with a half basement, that can mean 14 or 15 apartments, as the half basement normally have less units, over the ground space of a typical bungalow.

I've been wanting this for a while now.

Breaking and entering feels very much like an “open world” concept. I wonder if they’ll be a loading screen when you do B&E. I love San Myshuno so I’m excited for this “apartment” pack. We finally get to edit and make apartments from scratch like you did in Sims 2 This will be the first pack I will buy on release. I love city gameplay. I wish they would consider other cultures that aren’t in Eurasia or the Americas.

With the new lot type, will the giant lots in Get Famous finally be playable, lol?

At my job we have potlucks monthly. Everyone brings a different dish and you can try whatever you want! Main dishes, dessert, side dishes…it’s delicious!

Lol my comment in the last video was close xD. I do hope the B&E feature goes well with the clepto trait. I do hope burgers police and security systems make a comeback, but that's just me. I at least hope that being burgled is a toggle in options.

Im excited about the multi family lots but im hoping its more than 2 familes. Maybe 3 or 4 woyld be nice. Other than that i need to see what else will be added because the main theam being "for rent" doesnt seem like enough. Rebtal properties are already in the base game so why cant that just be an update to add the landlord's side. Or at least a game pack if they absolutely need us to pay for it. This is more interesting to ke than horses but that only because i dont really care about horses. Ill have to see what else is in it. Love that its set in Thailand though that makes me verry happy

What was thr point of City Living with this coming out? Yeah its cool we can finally turn those three oversized lots in Del Sol Valley into useable apartments, but I have many questions. Like can we move playable sims into the new apartment lots? How many households can live on one lot?

I still think we will need a loading screen to enter other dwellings but it sounds neat anyhow, but what if this brings back the robber NPC???
