The NEXT Smash Brothers Game Could Be PERFECT 

I really hope they add more Sonic characters like Knuckles Shadow and Silver

I love the smash 64 roster so much, seeing the og cast missing will be kinda heartbreaking, if they can’t bring everyone back, at least keep the 12 we know and grew with.

One thing I really want more than anything in the next Smash game is more interaction between the characters. For a crossover game, Smash doesn't really take advantage of that imo, since the characters literally do nothing but fight each other, albeit with some exceptions. I'm not expecting 50+ characters to all have unique dialogues with each other, but more Palutena's guidance/Snake's codec type of fanservice would be very much appreciated. Or, if the next Smash game ends up being a port (even though you mentioned it being unlikely), how about adding some linear story and dialogue in World of Light? Or even maybe CGI cutscenes, since they won't be making that many new reveal trailers? I just really wish the interaction between characters are more focused on next time around.

I just want King Bob-Omb to be playable someday. Of course there are more characters that I want, but not as much as King Bob-Omb in Smash.

I'll gladly take the reboot option if it means not getting Sans, Freddy or any other indie characters from franchises with the worst fandoms.

i think the best (not realistic) route would be basically -runs on an entirely new engine -a story mode -every character from ultimate but the move sets are completely redone -dlc that spans way longer, like 4 passes this is an outcome the most fans would be happy with, and i think it can be done if they give smash a really huge budget and have a ton of people work on it

the problem with the meter is that there are a ton of characters who either a.dont have transformations, or b. have it in their final smash.because characters like game and watch or meta knight dont really have transformations.

I know that it is difficult to make a story mode that involves all the characters, but if not, something I would love for them to do is put interactions between the characters before entering the fight, something similar to what the Mortal Kombat characters do, Imagine Mario and Sonic making jokes or insults to each other before entering into combat, and in the end depending on who wins, dialogues similar to those in Street Fighter are shown when one character beats another. For me that would make the unbeatable better.

Next smash game definitely needs more animal mascot characters like crash bandicoot and spyro. Also needs more sonic rep

I don't know if a new Smash would outdo SSB Ultimate. Same to be said that I don't think the next Mario Kart could outdo MK8 Deluxe. Those 2 games are going to be hard to be over achieved for what Smash Ultimate and MK 8 Deluxe have done for those franchises.

I don't understand the Smash 4 hate, that game introduced the world to handheld smash which was awesome for the time. What was also really cool, and a rarely used feature, was you could actually sync your 3ds to the wii u and use it as a controller.

I love how people still assume a proper Subspace follow up after Sakurai stated it won't happen again, now that character trailers are a thing. and the fact WoL was the result of Subspace being brought back.... What people should be asking for is a Smash Run sequel with more courses and online co-op.

The thing i want in the next smash is another sonic fighters like tails knuckles or maybe shadow upgraded to a fighter

I don't see whats bad with a port, ultimate is already so good so seeing it again with a few more characters, minor mechanical changes, good online and maybe a new game mode sounds perfect. As for the reboot thing, cutting so many especially first parties od going to be super controversial. I expect around 70 characters next game, 60 minimum. But 15 third party seems questionable, that's almost a fourth of the roster! Problem is even in a smaller roster veterans likely won't change much, as the devs seem to have a clear desire to keep characters mostly the same and "accessable" across games. Plus veterans would still be prioritized so not that many newcomers are going to be likely still I think the best direction for smash is to release a game with 50 or so characters, then continually update it and add more over the course of several years. Basically a live service game

Really like the different style of video. I'd love to see more smash content and you're idea of what a rebooted Smash Bros roster would look like. Personally i'd be happy with a smaller roster as long as my mains Ike and Shulk return.

next game should be ultimate deluxe with all the dlcs in the base game and more newcomers, we dont need a shitty reboot with a smaller roster

Smash 4 is the improved game after brawl that did not have tripping and had custom moves to customise your characters and make them play slightly different. It had free and not awfull online play and i think the classic mode was fun AF and had so much fun on smash tour even though the rest of the community seemed to hate it. It was with smash tour me and my friends had the most fun. Its also the smash game with the largest thropy collection.

I hope for story mode or character customization.

Smash 4 introduced reveal trailers, Brawl had trailers but they were mainly just fancy gameplay where as Smash 4 had actual animation in the trailers

I don’t understand how as soon as Smash Ultimate came out, people started shitting on Smash 4 like it was worse than Brawl, like it definitely was not underwhelming. I think people just fell out of love with it with Bayo and Cloud dominating competitive near the end of its life, and when Ultimate came out, everyone just forgot everything they liked about Smash 4. I honestly don't see that many 3rd party charachters going if their's a new smash game. I used to think Cloud would be gone but then we got two square enix charachters as dlc one of which they would've had to jump through insane hoops to get. Plus almost all of the final fantasy games are on switch now ontop of a remake of Super Mario rpg coming, with all this in mind I think Square and Atlus are the most guaranteed along with Sega. The one that might be the biggest problem is Konami because their Konami.

My perfect new Smash game is Ultimate 2 with 10 First Party ( Muddy Mole, Takamaru, Psyduck, Cranky Kong, Waddle Dee, Midna & Wolf Link, Porky, Samurai Goroh, Waluigi, and Geno) 10 Third Party (Spyro, Crash, Rayman, Bill Rizer, Ryu Hyabusa, Gilius from Goldenaxe, Dr Eggman, Arthur from Ghosts and Goblins, Earthworm Jim, Rash from Battletoads) and 10 echoes (Mrs. Pac-Man, Dixie Kong, Shadow the Hedgehog, Proto-Man, Dr. Luigi, Alph, Blood Falcon, Riku over Sora, Midbus, and Galacta Knight). Any other characters could be added as DLC, but those are what I think would be most satisfying to the most people.

smash 4 had amibos and was the first time smash could be hand held and gave us 8 player smash and custom moves and for better or worse also rage

I’d personally love a Rivals of Aether-style custom colour maker. Just the basics, Mario, for example, would have you be able to edit stuff like his hat, shirt, overalls, gloves, and shoes. Just the colour, not exactly expecting much beyond that, but it would help rectify any issues anyone has with a character’s costumes. They can just do it themselves

I got four games ideas that could be smash 1: (tai fu wrath of the Tiger )I feel like this game should have a remaster and for tai final smash could have him doing his karate moves . 2:(Asura wrath ) I think asura could be in smash because he could you his fighting skills to win and his final smash when he have all his arm out and smash the opponent into the sun. 3: (contra operation galuga) I could imagine both bill and lance could be a tag team like the ice climber and prya and mytha for bill he has his blaster and for lance his blaster and dagger for their final smash both will jump on a helicopter and you their blaster on the opponent. 4:(Monster hunter) so the two monster would be perfect for smash could be zinogre and nargacuga for zinogre his final smash would be his kinship ability voltage crash and for nargacuga his kinship’s ability dark thrash.

Ganondorf better get his own move set and be like a magical type fighter, just being honest he’s always been my main since brawl he’s recent new style tears of kingdom suits him for the next smash game

They should do a port but have character changes. The issue with cutting the roster down a ton is the characters that are newer would need little changes and be easier to bring in so what’s achieved by cutting them especially if they’re first party.

I swear to god if smash adds sans as an actual character I’m gonna fucking explode out of joy ( or just any Undertale character in general I don’t care if it’s froggit that my new main ), also all these skins Mario and Luigi have sometimes use they’re power ups so I had an idea for a mechanic that they could have, so basically they will have a move where they pull out a question block and you can jump up to hit or you could also use it as a platform and it stays until you hit where it will disappear shortly after being hit, so basically you probably figured it out by now when Mario or Luigi and heck even princess peach hits it the block spews out a power up as usual and when they touch this it gives them said power up and it could be anything range from the mushroom making you bigger to like the hammer suit or something it could be any power up from the series, anyways that’s an idea I had for Mario and Luigi to make things a little more interesting but for this to work fully I guess you would have to remove the fireball from they’re moveset but do not worry because we can always have a substitute, Mario and Luigi’s hammer from paper Mario I think, also the question block could have a super rare chance to give the super hammer from Mario maker which kinda revamps the moveset and let’s Mario place breakable blocks like Steve except they don’t break over time, also the you can lose the power up after you take enough damage or you choose another one from the ? Block, anyway I just thought that would be a super sick rework for Mario and Luigi ( note: I just realized that the fireball move could have just been replaced with the ? Block lol but I was thinking of that as like a down special so eh ) I would still love a smash game with new characters ( especially Undertale ) ok bye

I really can’t understand anyone thinking that anything BUT porting Ultimate is the best idea. People are going to be upset if characters get cut, we’ve already seen that, and assuming porting Ultimate is significantly easier than making a new game, just adding more content to that game will make the most people happy. Heck, there’s nothing saying they can’t overhaul character movesets in an Ultimate port.

The most feasible thing they can do is port it to the Switch successor with rollback. Ofc the most ideal thing would be to actually get all major gaming icons in but I doubt Sony would be give theirs. Even excluding them, I still think that’s super unlikely bc there’s another easy 20 icons to add still. If they do a reboot, it’s likely going to have half or less the number of characters in Ultimate. If they did something different like a 2D fighter, it’d feel distinct from Ultimate. Either way, just hope next release has rollback

Concrete things I want from the next Smash: A return of the trophies, no more echo fighters and less clone characters, an improved classic mode, more bosses, a story mode with the gameplay of Brawl's Subspace Emissary and the familiar envirments and minions of Melee's Adventure Mode. Less characters? How about less items? Expecially the most broken ones. The roster doesn't need to get more large but needs to get more rich. There are way too many swordfighters and anime characters that belong to the same franchise. Zelda and Sheik need to be put back together, same for Samus and Zero Suit Samus. This will free two slots for possible newcomers, about whom I don't make any guess or serious hope because I understood how unpredictable this part is. Though I have a wishlist so large that I'll probably get something in there. I like the inclusion of multiple characters through skins. It's simple and pratical! Some of the actual characters could be reduced to skins of each other and free more slots for newcomers, which could be multiple characters as well, like for example Crash and Coco, Sparkster and Axle Gear, the ghosts of Pacman, the trio of Jazz JackRabbit or whoelse will be created inbetween now and the date of the next Super Smash Bros. On a final note I'd like to see more dedication to the Mii fighters. Separare clothes for top and bottom torso, more special moves and/or choices for the basic attacks. Yet, one slot for the Mii fighters is enough, we don't need three. And thus two more slots are freed. See how easy is to compress the roster?

I like the reboot idea. Reshaping and updating the old to modernity. that could be fun. especially if they keep assist trophies + expand them + add a few new characters. So rather than a lot of characters, there are a fewer amount with more variety.
