You all asked for it.. And here it is! 2 years in the making. I truly hope this was worth such the wait.. It was fun editing the entire video and being able to talk about some stories that I have been dying to share with you all.. Some of these were inspired, others were video ideas that got scraped, and the rest were what I felt deserved a mention.. I appreciate the endless support and always try to treat y'all to a special video around the holidays. So, I'm ending 2023 doing you guys right. Here's to yet another year of more stories to tell! Have fun exploring the depths of the new NHL Iceberg ~ Paul ❤
I might be asking for much but please make another one once you can. I enjoyed watching this one and the previous one and I would love to see a third one on the way.
I'm surprised you didn't include this one, at the start of the 2022-23 season Patrik Laine scored 600 goals in the first 5 games of the season, however bettman deleted the footage in an attempt to stop the GOAT Laine
The Sedins were followed by their numbers, in the 2011 All star skills competition Team Staal (with Daniel on it) beat Team Lidström (with Henrik on it) with the score 33-22......
I’m related to flash Hollett hes my great great uncle and my grandpa actually met him after his career. I had no clue about the fact in the video. That’s absolutely crazy that he could have been in the hall of fame and thank you for helping me learn that info
Heres a story I was told at pure hockey by a worker. He had been a ranger fan since he was born(he was about 60 years old) however one story he remembers being told vividly was a wild one. Gordie Howe was nearly a New York Ranger. At age 15, he was brought into the New York Rangers training camp, but had felt very homesick, he had continued to feel this way and eventually the rangers signed him to a C deal which basically gave NYR the ability to control his rights and where he went. Fast foward a few years, 18 now, he was back at New York Rangers training camp, however; he was told he wasnt good enough or old enough(cant remember which one) for the team and they told him come back next year.. what happened two weeks later? Gordie Howe signed with the Detroit Red Wings
May Bill Masterton, Adam Johnson, and Anyone that has died Rest In Peace and Fly High I hope that the People that cared for them have recovered from their loss
random thought: since the 1919 stanley cup final ended 2-2 going into the final game, and in the first game between the expansion kraken and the habs, the kraken won, doesnt that mean seattle won the stanley cup?
Loved the first one, love this one even more. Keep up the good work! Also completely forgot Abt the Kane taxi incident, looked it up and started laughing.
The cab driver incident wasn’t what got him kicked off the cover, it was the sexual assault charges he was facing at the time. Cab driver incident was when he was way younger
Olli Jokinen just gave some insight in to the Zednik incident in a Finnish interview not too long ago. Ever since that Päällikkö had a hockey psychology coach. I love Olli, my favorite Finnish NHL player
Speaking about the crash of Yak-Service flight 9633 the flight involved in the Yaroslavl Lokomotiv incident which was a Yak-42 plane model what was particularly tragic is the cause of the crash was during takeoff one of the pilots pressed on the parking breaks on the plane which slowed the plane down significantly where during takeoff it couldn’t takeoff properly hence why it crashed in the near by river also the pilot weren’t that well trained for the Yak-42 model and Yak-Service the charter airline was notorious for having a awful safety record it was banned to fly to most of Europe via the EU’s no fly list
What about the story of Christian Pellz an oilers prospect who drown in a river he had an urge to swim in excitedly upon returning to Latvia one summer
Olli Jokinen the best non Tkachuk Flames player whyyyy :( In all seriousness, great video as always, baby - I know how hard it was to get it out but you did it and I'm really proud of you ❤
What a great video, lot of interesting hockey stuff i've never heard of. Thanks for old hockey footage from NHL's early days. Looks like totally different sport century later. Fascinating!
banger video. if ur interested in the Duncan MacPherson case, MrBallen has a really great video dedicated to it. a great watch if your a fan of the strange dark and mysterious delivered in story format
I swear, the Wideman tax is real. I’ve watched enough ridiculous calls against the Flames for the last decade to make me want to flip a table. What wasn’t mentioned in this video, is the refs video reviews. It’s pretty much guaranteed that a call will go against the Flames if the refs review a play. The Coleman incessant from a few years ago is perhaps the worst culprit in this regard.
I don't think the Jagr theory is true. I think he wasnt signed... because he wasnt that good anymore. Don't forget, he signed in October with the Flames. I think that's proof not a lot of teams wanted to sign him.
I knew a guy that worked with the Flyers in 2011. He said the reason Mike Richards was traded was because of partying and Jeff Carter was traded because he partied and slept with Hartnells wife.
I feel like the more I learn about a lot of the guys that trophies are named after (I.e. Adams, Ross), the more disappointed I am in the actual people themselves
the YT channel MrBallen has a whole video about Duncan MacPherson. it's an interesting watch if you're a fan of the strange, dark, and mysterious delivered in story format
I like the idea of the 2011 stanley cup being rigged for boston because they fucked themselves by doing that looking at the increased presence of teams like the raptors, bluejays and seahawks in bc now lol
