@@SIX1NINEGUITARSANDGEAR could you do a video where you show how to setup input or which IR to use? when I use ML Amps (Friedman, Marshall) it sounds like.... don't know...Modelling Amps from 2001 :/ your tone is pure 2023
I got one of these and it's quickly becoming my new favorite 6 string, out of the 11 guitars I own. The craftsmanship on mine is pretty much flawless. The only thing I dislike really is the frets are medium instead of jumbo but that's a minor nitpick. The pickups I thought were poopy so I threw some D-Activators in mine and it sounds absolutely MONSTROUS. Also wanted to comment on the nut. I think it may graphite or tusq and they were just quiet about it. I was working on installing a graphtech nut on mine and I did the drop test, and both the graphtech nut and the stock one sounded almost exactly the same.
i was wondering about this. i tried looking it up but there is so much conflicting info. some say its regular plastic, some say its graphtech. i havent recieved my guitar yet so i have no idea if i need to order a tusq nut or not. btw you wouldnt happen to have the graphtech part number for the nut you used or perhaps measurements needed to find the correct one? i ordered a grg121dx, but ibanez dont give too much info about this in their parts catalog.
Hey I know it's been 9 months since you posted, butcan you tell me if there's a big difference between the medium and jumbo frets? Like is it a big deal? Thinking about getting this guitar as my first electric.
@@MAXXlS there is a difference, however, as a beginner you wont notice and it wont really matter. i highly recommend going for this one, just make sure you do a correct setup on this guitar. medium jumbo feel great imo
Just pulled the trigger on Amazon. Was looking at this and a few other budget axes and this seems to be a ridiculously good deal. How’s the gig bag that’s included?
Ibanez specs are just measure at the 14th fret, and you should get 2mm. I guess we can only judge the guitar to the Ibanez specs, even though I think it's a bit high. Did you notice any buzzing?
Thats been an argument of experts forever people say 14th some say anywheres from 8th -12th ibanez recommends 14th for guitar 12th for bass. I guess it up to whatever method you use. I always measure at 12th on every guitar. 1.5mm is usually my go to. Im not a shredder so it’s comfortable for me. As far as buzzing it’s not to bad at all I’ve check the frets with a rocker there is a few wobbly spots but overall not to bad for the price. I’ll be making a video about making it play better by some fretwork once there polished that will be a huge upgrade alone also have a set of locking tuners to throw on it to.
Amazing you said 'Price Range' and not 'Price Point'. 👍🏻I can't tell you how much that gets on my nerves listening to these guys repeat PRICE POINT over and over. 😂.. Great review. You got any thoughts on the Ibanez S521? It's a hundred bucks more and I'm debating between these two models. Probably going to put locking tuners on it if I buy either one.
Ive played both and i like this one more honestly. I put dimarzio pickups in it and locking toners and it keeps up with any other guitar in my collection double or triple the price !
@@SIX1NINEGUITARSANDGEAR Yep. Funny, I just decided to pull the trigger on it right before I came back to your comment. Glad for the decision. What kind of tuners did you put on it?
Hey there! Im planning on getting a GRG131DX like the one you've shown on your channel and want to mod it with emg 81/85's , the grg131 now comes with the same output jack as this one, can you confirm that these output jacks can be used for active pickups?
@@SIX1NINEGUITARSANDGEAR do you know if i would be able to just use the solderless wires or do i need to solder them? I ended up ordering the ibanez and emg's as well as a gotoh bridge and tuners, they should arrive on the 7th and im like little kid rn with the waiting 😭😭 Thx for replying btw c:
@@xXPoisonShotsXx just make sure u have enough room for everything if u watch my latest u video i just put a quick connect emg system in my jem jr with alot less room lol with the quick connect system the only thing u may have to solder is the output jack unless u buy one for the quick connect system but the hole drilled for the output jack is really small
I love that major Brands are putting more and more value into those lower priced guitars and id love to try that one. But i cant help but compare it to my 300 bucks Harley Benton Fusion. And for the same price it has locking tuners (harley benton brand), stainless steel frets and trussrod adjustment wheel near the pickups. And these are some key features for me.
Yeah, Ibanez and Jackson are among the greediest companies that rarely give you locking tuners, stainless steel or bone/graphtech nuts, even in the higher price ranges. That's why these companies rather do these sponsored praise videos
What about microphonics. I want one of these, but I see everyone having an issue with the pickups being microphonic. Good demo, though. The pickups sound really good.
No whammy on this model and I own a 131dx I’ve never played the 121dx model but this is definetly a better guitar then the 131 just by the feel and specs in my opinion
