This podcast is great! You guys should consider putting the guest on one side of the room so that they don't have to constantly look both ways during the show.
I don’t know if it would be popular but if would be cool to have Lauren and maybe magic on sometime..getting their thoughts on being a dealer is something I’ve never heard..also congratulations on always being yourself..especially in today’s crazy world
Love this podcast. Garrett is my favorite. Suggestion for the stream: put the hosts next to each other and the guest facing them. It can be tough to watch/listen to when the guest has to keep turning his/her head. Small thing but would make a big difference.
Completely agree. I suggest move one large logo centre frame, then affix a smaller logo on the desk, it looks like Nick going for a classic Texas saloon look with the burnt wood panel, I suggest B W photographs of poker legends and scenes from inside old casinos etc in place of the bright blue panels. …lastly, pull camera closer, pull chairs tighter together, I want more of your faces on my screen. Great conversation tho. No criticism there.
The layout of two hosts on either side and the guest in the middle makes it difficult for the guest to speak directly into the mic in front of them because he’s always facing one of you instead of the mic. A better placement would be hosts on the same side cheating towards camera and guest on the other.
I agree. It's really annoying to have him fading in and out constantly, it's all probably annoying for him to keep having to look back and forth. Enjoying everything else about the show.
Very interesting to see the man behind the poker beast - seeing the open side of Garrett is very endearing and gives you so much more respect for the man and his abilities. Garrett you’re a hell of a player and after watching this I also realise a hell of man to wear your heart on your sleeve so eloquently will help a lot of people.
Garrett is an idol for all poker players. Everything he says is so relatable and I appreciate how open he is with his mental health. Poker comes with such high variance and as a male dominated “game”, we men don’t open up that easily. I truly believe Garrett has opened up the doors for mens mental health and it just happens to be through poker.
Good start to a promising podcast.. looking forward to it. Only suggestion, get 3 or 4 cameras so we can have close-ups of the speaker at the moment rather than a stagnant one angle view.
Garrett is friendly and diplomatic because you're always dealing with asshole opponents, maybe not so much at high stakes but Garrett always takes the high road which gets my respect. Good or bad attitudes are remembered.
From someone who struggle with mental health issues it's nice to hear talk about it by '' normal succesful people''. I'm not sure exacltly why it felt the way it did but I know it did a good effect on me, so THX!
i had 10 years of thinking i would never feel better again, 4 years of working on being able to feel better, then covid relapsed me for more than 6 months, getting out of that now though, thank god
I found out about garrett through Survivor which was several years ago. Just recently got into watching poker and seeing how far this dude has come is so cool.
Nice pod. Great interview. Garrett is the man for being so open about his mental health. Good on him for being so transparent and helping others who may be struggling in the process. As he said, it helps him as well to talk about it. Everyone wins.
This is great! Garrett and Andy are my favorite players to watch play poker, and I'm always rooting for you Nick. Fantastic podcast 👍 I hope I am able to play on Hustler Live with you guys one day....
This interview will, change lives, what a magnificent beautiful man t6e GOAT is…found myself moved and inspired by his openness and courage …Nic is o;e of the good guys, wow didn’t pick up n that either …
Garrett was inspiration to me to treat all the people nice at the table even when i get beat beat and continue to play my game with out chassing revenge.
I had a rough day at work today. I'm taking it very personally and I'm overthinking it. I decided to finally listen to your podcast. All I can say is that i am blown away. It is exactly what I needed to hear... How to learn from failure... how to regulate emotions... Thank you!
Nick...put the guest on one end of the table so he can talk into the mic the whole time without having to turn his head right or left. Whenever Garret looked right or left to address you or Veronica, the sound goes quiet and it looks awkward. Small changes make a big difference. Other than that good show.
Nick huge fan. Had no idea you had a podcast. Great interview. Also a big fan of Garret. Subscribed and looking forward to seeing more. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for the show. It's very different from what I expected (in a good way). There is so much things that can be related (from personal experience) and the fact that there are people thinking about the similar issues some what does provide comfort. Hope to see more of these in the future shows~!
Enjoying new show. Suggestion for set: only one vertucci sign. Move the left one so it’s between you and guest. On other space (between guest and Veronica) install a marquee sign with removable/replaceable letters that could say “todays guest Garrett Adelstein”
Love this podcast. The Nick Vertucci Show is best podcast. I think and feel the same on almost every subject. One suggestion is remove the man in the middle, I felt I was watching someone, watching someone else playing tennis.
Great show…but…the sound quality is horrendous. Do a sound check before the start. Talk directly into the mic. I can’t hear Nick. Tell the guests to also.
This was an awesome episode! Insight about variance management, and mental health. Something that needs to talked about more in this sport lol yes it’s a sport to me!
Maybe for the future have the guest introduce themself and talk about their career? I’ve been watching HCL for about 4 months and always see Garrett but don’t know about his poker career and would have loved to, thanks for the awesome content keep it up boss man
Awesome 1st guest, but I would be more creative with the name of your podcast instead of just your name….maybe trademark Nitucci and use that. Also, not really feeling your logo, what does a lion with a crown have to do with poker? Other than that, great start! ✌️
sorry to comment in basically a handful of minutes in...this layout seems odd. guest in center, constantly has to look left and right....was/is distracting, to me....maybe everyone else loves it. (maybe you're trying to show off the poker table shaped desk) (my suggestion if you care, turn the table 90 degrees, Nick/Veronica on left, across from guest) Best of Luck!!
@Nick Vertucci, one day on the Podcast, you need to have the masseuse sneak out of the left hand side of the screen and stick her hand down your shirt and rub your ears….LOL. Would be epic. Maybe on April 1st.
People that converse, actively look up and away, is a sign of perfectionism. They hold themselves to a high standard. It is not a sign of disrespect or uninterested.
Great show! 2 good FREE shows Nick! Keep it up. I’d love to see Ryan on here an here his life story an details on King bad card suited hands he goes nuts with every time. Lol
There is a difference between trolling and harassing. Trolling is winding someone up like flat earth theory. It's not harassing an individual. Trolling is for laughs.
When you three bet Q7 in early position it has such an effect on your opponents that you are much more likely to get paid with premiums later on. So if you manage a win with the play then it is a win, win.
Great down to earth guy, very respected. However, he doesnt really play against the best in the world on a regular basis to warrant hes one of the worlds best, and I think even he would admit that. He mainly plays vs the usual rich donkeys, with a few good players and 1 or 2 worldly great players (Andy, Dan Zack, and they havnt played much recently and maybe a few others)
