Mr Heath , Sir, you are a fantastic teacher. Precise and to the point. I cannot wait for my binoculars to arrive so I can head out and gaze at the night sky.

I was staring at the moon recently and felt the earth moving then a shooting 🌟 i was speechless! Whenever i stared at the moon the more darker the night sky would get crazy right? And then i so purple highlights on the moon it was so beautiful! And clouds in the night moving left to right to forward to backwards it was so relaxing and then the moon hid behind the clouds i said moon come back! The clouds moved i was so Surprised! Crazy right?🌌🌍🌙

What about this: The moon radius is 27,3 percent of earth radius AND the average orbit around earth is 27,3 days. The absolute zero temperature is minus 273 degrees (Celsius). ( Funfact: a pregnancy lasts for 280 days AND the average menstruation cycle is 28,0 days )

I just learned a lot thank you very much from your very interesting and informative talk. Wouldn't it be nice to stand on the Moon and watch the Earth in all its phases ?
@Religious_man

No because it's an illusion. Instead, it would be more exciting to watch the Earth constantly change its appearance as it orbits the sun.

Also want to ask is if you were standing on the moon and the earth gets in the way of the sun by blocking the light from being on the moon, will it look like an eclipse at all?

The moon was in a waning giibous phase in the image, not a waxing one, at 7:42.
@sailorman8668
@sailorman8668 5 лет назад
Is that so Ray? And how could you tell if the moon was either waning or waxing? It was of course a gibbous moon, but unless you could see if the moon's shadow was getting smaller or bigger, it's impossible to tell if it's a waxing or a waning moon. It seems you've shot yourself in the foot here Ray, lol.
@carcinogen60yearsago
@carcinogen60yearsago 4 года назад
@@sailorman8668 The moon only rotates one way, if it was a waxing gibbous the shadow would be on the left. But it's on the right.

When did the moon shrink????
@donkeybutt3239
@donkeybutt3239 3 года назад
I thought the solar wind or a solar storm strips off the atmosphere since the moon has no magnetic field to protect it? So why hasn't it stripped it completely? Also does Mercury have an atmosphere like the moon, maybe weaker or is it completely stripped away?
@darrellheath9776
@darrellheath9776 3 года назад
You are absolutely correct, the solar wind does strip away unprotected atmospheres. But it can also create atmospheres. I think we are being generous when we say that the moon has one but, by any definition, it does have one, albeit a very tenuous one. The solar wind and high energy cosmic rays and knock atoms and molecules off of the rocks and regolith on the lunar surface in order to create this extremely thin and practically non-existent atmosphere. We are talking about just a handful of atoms and molecules of things like helium, argon, potassium, and sodium. They can linger around for a very short period of time before being lost into space. But due to the constant onslaught of the solar wind, they are constantly being replenished.

@@darrellheath9776 thanks for answering my questions I really appreciate it and thanks for clearing that up for me I was getting kind of confused to what was going on and how the solar wind works. Have a wonderful and blessed day!!

Fact # 6: The moon provides our months of the year. Fact # 7: The moon is very often seen in our daytime sky from April to October. Conversely, it is often seen in our night sky from October to April. Fact # 8: The rising full moon very often crosses our descending sun in the opposite part of our sky and vice versa. Fact # 9: Related to fact #8, the rising full moon crosses the descending sun along your local horizon twice a year, April & October. Fact #10: The world very strangely and very often ignores the moon in favor of the sun. That is why it led to the creation of the erroneous Roman calendar the world still uses today. It's also why people deny and debate the moon landing because people often get the supposed date of the moon landing or some other supposed event incorrect based on the correct phase of the moon at the time of the supposed event or incident. Fact # 11: The full moon or near-full moon reaches or crosses the meridian of the night sky at 12AM if one chooses to go by astronomical time over world time. Conversely, the sun reaches or crosses the meridian of the daytime sky at 12PM, astronomical time. Fact # 12: If the first half moon is sighted 7 days exactly after its dark moon phase, "new moon" as people call it, the lunar month will last for 30 days. If it is sighted 6 days exactly after the dark moon phase, the month will last for 29 days, all beginning at the International Date Line. Fact # 13: If there has been 3 lunar months in a row, than the month after those 3 automatically lasts for 29 days; there can not be more than 3 months of 30 days in a row. Conversely, if there has been 2 months of 29 days in a row, then automatically, the next month will contain 30 days. For there can not be more than 2 lunar months of 29 days in a row. The usual pattern of duration in these months go as 30, 29, 30, 29, 30, etc. Fact # 14: The solar-lunar calendar needs to include an intercalary month for mostly every 3 years to keep everything aligned with the seasons. The common months of the year contains 12 orbits of our moon while a leap year contains 13 orbits of our moon. The most appropriate place to fit an intercalary month on the calendar would be between the 6th month and the 7th month (between the last month of summer and the first month of fall). It's not hard to understand anything in this life once you get used to it. Psalm 104: 19-20 - He made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down. You bring darkness, it becomes night, and all the beasts of the forest prowl.

If theres a treaty for the moon and space, why did the usa send a nuclear weapon to the south pole of the moon claiming they were looking for ice or water.? Or were they just bombing an alien base, because they felt threatened?. Just curious, can you help me with that one?. Mark, Canada.

@@dr.jamesolack8504 : Ok im back down on earth again, still sane as ever. So tell me Dr, James Olack what was up with the Clementine mission, why a nuke?.Why not something less destructive, like maybe an orbiter to check it out, get some samples maybe, or why not send some astronauts to do the job,was it too dangerous?. Nuking something that doesn,t belong to us, seems a little dangerous dont you think. Makes me wonder, what kind of herb they were indulging in to come up with such a F....d up plan. Were already well into destroying our own planet, i guess might as well start with the Moon next and so on, and so on. Im just a concerned human wondering what will the future hold for us. The way were going ,it looks pretty bleak. Sorry for the rant. I feel better now. And yes i believe in E.T,s and UFO,s. Im 55 years young and ive seen UFO,s on 4 different occassions in my life starting when i was 10 years old. Ok im done. Have yourself a lovely day Dr. J. M. Henhawke.

Yes, that is correct. But that was only one moon rock that was found to be fake, and actually had nothing to do with NASA. What of all the other moon rocks - were they ALL fake as well? You did say that ALL the moon rocks were fake, or are you wrong about this? You see, it appears you don't actually know too much about moon rocks at all, lol.
