Could you imagine a group of black men sitting around a table on national television and saying there are no good black women in the dating pool? I could see the national outcry. Apologies would have to be issued and several people will get fired.

I laugh when I see a bunch of single black women talking about there aint no good bruthas. Black men dont have problems being chosen by women of all races.

There's difference between having standards and being shallow though

I've noticed something about "SOME" black women(again I said *some*, so if doesn't apply to you,carry on), that they will make as many *generalizations* about black men BUT when someone does it to them, they get defensive and sometimes hurl insults at you..like tf? O_o Just my 2 cents.....

one thing I noticed about these women in their pursuit of finding their ideal mate is that that they're all looking for the title. what I mean by that is that they're looking for that p guy with the PhD, masters, and the like, while over looking all the good brothers who are masters of their TRADES but don't have a degree. I am in unique position to talk about this because while I have my masters in clinical psychology I work as a house painter. I own my own company. I find it fascinating that when I tell a lady that I work in the construction field I usually don't get a second date but when I tell them that im a clinical psychiatrist that I say the words fast enough before I hear yes to a second date. so to all the women out there saying that you can't find a good man perhaps if broaden your horizon and stop looking for titles and start looking at the person who's talking to you then you'd give yourself a real chance at finding happiness.

You don't raise up black men without fathers in droves, try to become the mama and the dad, and then wonder why there aren't any good black men. You all raised them and thought you were good enough to be the dad. 

"Chinese men and Black women are at the bottom of the dating totem pole." I remember when people actually married within their culture so there was no such as thing as a "dating totem pole".

Question, who raised all these so called no good black men?

Their bitter because the black man with as discriminated against he is with as marginalized as he is with all the odds stacked against him can be desired and found with any race or nationality of women over the globe. They just do see how desperate this makes them look. If they could date and marry outside their race in the same manner and numbers as black men they wouldn't say a word. But they can't. Men of other races aren't checking for black women in large numbers. Solution: Improve your self worth,bring you level of additude and demeanor to the level that is conducive to wanting to be worked with. Bring your standards down,by that I mean if you have a ph.d,mba or whatever don't dismiss the man who is a construction worker or garbage man. He my be the one to bring you all your heart has desired.

With Jackie's obvious negative views on Black men. Does she think any relationship with a Black man has any chance of being successful.

The problem is most black women are looking for fun not reality.

Black women are cool. Like anything else, you have to find the right woman that works with your personality.

Translation: A. There aren't any good Black men we can manipulate and put up with our disrespectful attitude. B. There aren't any good Black men who will approach us. C. There aren't any good Black men because we have made bad choices. D. Good Brothers kept it moving.

This is crap black men don't watch scandal because it's a chick flick. Not cause kerry washington is make believe dating a white man LOL. I know they are supposed to be comedians of some sort but at least get it right.

After watching this segment and reading the comments that have been posted, as a 52 soon to be 53 yr old Black Man, my heart is filled with rage and sadness for there is nothing wrong with having standards as to the type of person that Black Men and Women are looking for in a mate however, Black Women have unrealistic expectations because not every Black Man is bulit like an African God or is well educated and making six figures for there are plenty of black men who are decent, good, upstanding men if given a chance will surprise you, as for Black Men, I hate to say this but, you have unrealistic expectations as well for you guys want someone like Beyonce who has a banging body and knows how to cook, clean, and provide sex on demand whether she is in the mood or not and if she cannot do what I have mentioned, don't waste my time and number two, if you think that women of other ethnicities are falling over each other just to be with black men guess again because non black women whether you like it or not will always choose their men first instead of black men for black men will forever be the fallback option for non black women, so at the end of the day, like it or not, black men and women only have each other.

this is one of the reasons why there's so much division between some black men and some black women. Please, let's unite. Love is love.

5:15 This sums up the level at which some of our black women view their place ultimately in the world. I was "over" white girls liking me in the 7th grade. I don't see a black man and a white woman and think "Yeah brotha you go get that snowbunny" It doesn't matter. Black men don't suddenly come up because they got a white woman on their arm. Issa is a Stanford and NYU alum. She's experienced and ocean of white males and to be harboring these sentiments speaks volumes about how she internalized growing up as a black woman.

Why must we air out our "dirty laundry" and discuss our relationship problems on a national televised program so the world can use this recording as ammo to further separate us!? No other ethnicity does this, and we should stop! "Good" is relative. There are plenty of "good" black men and women. Just because you haven't met him/her yet doesn't give you the license to publically generalize an entire group of people as being not "good". If you don't have anything good to say...Don't say anything at all...

For me, a white man, I can't say I have any racial preferences based purely on race. I have dated literally every race and women from all over the world. It's about physical attraction and some sort of connection.

I disagree with a lot of this. I'm a black man, education, business owner, no felonies, etc, and I had black woman after black woman act like I was kryptonite to them. You attract what you put out.

Finding a decent human being is hard enough, but tryin to find a good man or women in a certain race is even harder, Let alone a person who thinks there good tryin to find what they believe is a good person.

After listening to these women... I realized that there are plenty of "good" men out there. There just aren't many men out there willing to put up with the bull shit of the modern western woman.

That said, physically there is nothing wrong with AA women. I like all races, creeds, colors, etc. Sometimes I think the real issue is weight. I don't like fat women, and AA women are statistically obese. Thin, feminine black women, though? Yes, please!

They're interested in doctors and lawyers but not plumbers and other honest hard working blue collar guys.

It doesn't matter how you slice it, the gender issues are the same for every race. What the vast majority of men want is to feel like they are the leader in their relationship. The only way to solve this issue for you as an individual is to find someone that you are compatible with regardless of race; you must find someone with the same mindset. I happen to think that educated black women are fine. I am Puerto Rican and I don't date white women. At the present time I am with a well educated, very dark skinned, Filipina woman. If she covered her hair she would look black because she has African features. IMHO, the biggest problem plaguing men and women in the United States is the feminist agenda... Being feminist is actually a good thing. Everyone should be treated with respect and as a equal; however, as individuals we are not equals. I am not as intelligent as Neil deGrasse Tyson; I am not a scientist. I am not the basketball player that Lebron James is... I don't speak 5 languages like my lady does... When in a relationship it is important to take note of your lovers strengths and weaknesses. Acknowledge their strengths and help them strengthen their weaknesses (if they so desire). And, share everything with good intentions, love, kindness, likes and dislikes and give, give, give then hope for the best. If it is not reciprocated let it go, fast! And forget about race... It's that easy. In some cases that hard... One thing I'd like to say is that I wish that black women would leave their hair natural, if they can. I wish that black women did not strengthen their hair so much... I miss natural hair... Black women are beautiful and they deserve a lot more love than what they have been given.

Wow! I don't know what's worse, the self hate or the fact that they've been given a platform to spew this B.S. And while I have no problems with IR relationships, I do have a problem with those who make excuses as to why they do, exposing that they aren't really dating out, out of love, but self hate.

The problem with these woman are there standard are way to high. You should never settle but humble your self. So the problem is a lot of black woman are reaching high education and going high in the job market like vice president ceo etc so they want there man to be the same which a lot men ain't reaching those same peaks. Like the one woman who married she has a PhD and her husband does I'm sure she wouldn't have married him if he didn't have one. That's the thing how much money u make or the job u do should determine who date. There plenty of good black men but those women would turn they down because they either ain't educated enough, make enough money or they blue collar worker. Black woman feel they so almighty when they get a education so they feel if I have master degree he should to or higher I make 100K he should to or more. That doesn't make u a good man at all

The only thing that surprises me about this is the fact that people are still surprised by this. No one rides for white men harder than black women do. Get it through your heads, these women are not our, "sisters".

Smh, we have a panel of college level educated black woman, one with a PhD, and I'm still surprised by the amount of ignorance I'm listening to. I personally don't have any vice with black woman, and certainly don't think they're more unattractive than other races, but it's stupid drivel like this that helps legitimize black men's complaints of black woman being rude and insufferable. How are you going to sit there as college educated black women and cast aspersions on the vast majority of black men, and then be surprised when they seemingly want nothing to do with you? You're going to denigrate a man for not being your contrived idea of quality, and then throw shade at him for dating another?

Perhaps, if black women would stop beating the black men over the head with their Degrees, stop maligning the educated, articulate black men referring to them as "lames",and " beta-males, stop choosing losers in lieu of a good black man, and show gratitude toward the black man that has put forth an effort to do something nice for you. Do these very simple things, and you can not only have, but, keep a black man. Make sense?

I'm so over this conversation. I'm black and guys like me fine. I live in California and have always attracted men of all races, so what's going on with these other black women???? Stop complaining about it. EVERY black woman on this stage had a boyfriend and wanted to complain about how black women have a hard time finding a man. Why? Because people like watching it, even if it's not true, it's a narrative that a lot of people like to believe. Black women who fall into it are sad to me.

On some real shit, like if we're gonna keep it "100"... These women are single not because they're black... Just cos they're straight up ugly... I mean it's the same for all women of all races, if you're below par visually you're going to find it hard to find a "good man" because there are plenty of women with great personalities and who look the part too, as harsh or insensitive as that sounds it's just true... Plus it is unfair on them to say "good black men" are hard to find when good men of any race are hard to find... This is coming from a man... I think the US still has a major race complex but in western society, who someone finds love and an appropriate relationship shouldn't matter in terms of race or ethnicity, we're all going to mix eventually... And just for the record, I'm sure these women are great people, like great at their jobs and good people but they certainly didn't do themselves any favours in this panel I mean, last thing a man wants to hear is you defending yourself over why you're "bossy" an then saying we need "help" like you're perfect and you aren't in need of any personal upgrades...

This is the problem. Don't base your dating pool on how much education you have. Men def don't do that shit. If we did, our dating pool would drastically shrink up as well. If you want to be educated and have the same income as a man, stop saying that you want a man that makes more than you. There is a reason why black women are chosen last on the dating totem pole. And it's not because you are black. It's your mindset!!

FYI Black women…Black men aren't on it like that with you and the interracial dating. Most of us could give two cents IMO. You have options, you've always had options. Im a 60 year old white male and i dated (briefly) 4 black women in my lifetime. They all had the same attitude, they felt they were entitiled to receive money, expensive gifts and only wanted to go to high class restaurants. I mean they totally expected that from me. My question is, did they treat me like that because i was a wealthy white man, or do they do that with everyone?

I get a little pissed when women talk about this "some assembly required" bullshit. Do most men change when they get in a serious relationship? Sure. Living with someone changes everyone to some degree. However, unless that person decides to change, you can't make them. Superficial things like how they dress, eating more vegies, how they fold the towels, etc. aren't real change. Personality traits, a person has to come to that on their own.

The woman who made the comment regarding "I'm just trying to help you" makes the classic mistake that not only many black women make, but women of ALL races make - you think you're being helpful, but what you're really saying to the man is "I don't trust you to do it right". That's the worst message you can communicate to any man. Women need to learn that above all else. Just like women want men to listen and not solve their problems, men want women to let them be men and figure things out for themselves. I think that this may be a challenge that black women may have more than women of other races. Yes, black women are strong, mainly because they have needed to be. We American women are bossy. Period. We need to let men be men, and if they make mistakes, that's part of manhood. I'm learning as a woman, our opinions and thoughts are not always needed and truly people don't care what we think. Practice the art of non control of others, we cannot control masculine real men, they need to lead, it's healthy for them, step back. And of course actions will differentiate between masculine real men and fake men, they most prove and show manhood! I think most men are great guys.

It's hard out here for all single people. Look at the bachelor. All of those single white women can't find a good man? Something is wrong.

I'm sort of disappointed in Issa Rae, her own web series features her being in a relationship with a white guy! Listen black women,having convos like this does NOTHING for us! Many times I feel like when we look out a pool of black men we look for the person who can "match" us. There's nothing wrong with this but having a relationship is more than that. It's about who can pull you up when you are down! If your views are identical with someone else what's the point? Someone needs to point out when you mess up or do something wrong!
