Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith discusses her new book The Nine of Us: Growing Up Kennedy with her son Stephen Smith. Pulitzer Prize-winning former Boston Globe columnist Eileen McNamara moderates.
i went down a strange trail of kennedy information from looking up the abe lincoln and jfk coincidences, then ended up here after wondering if the only surviving sibling had anything to say about the "curse" it's almost unbelievable that she was part of that generation, she was in her 30s when jfk died, i don't know why i pictured someone suffering through that many family casualties, and at this age, to not be in such good spirits as jean kennedy is
It's so good to hear Jean speaking about the kids of today not being spoken to about World Affairs .. It's a sad indictment on our society today but a lot of it can be laid squarely at the feet of parents and then the Mainstream Media outlets who are all owned and run by the special interest groups. We all know and understand the importance of teaching our kids right from wrong but a lot of parents don't have the time or inclination due to many interfering issues on their lives today. How many people struggle to live an ordinary existence in todays world as opposed to 50 years ago. I honestly believe the world is a lot worse off today than it was back during the 1950's and 60's. Back then it must've been a time of great hope for humanity but today their is so much mind control on the youth that they wouldn't be capable of seeing the wood for the trees now.. That's a real shame in todays society because most people tend to believe what they are shown on their TV screens but most of it is propaganda and lies. False flag events are continuous and ever present and our peoples are being fooled all of the time. We could do with another JFK or Bobby Kennedy..
Amazing how much this woman has seen. Her dad was an ambassador working for FDR, her brother was president in the 1960s and her youngest brother was in politics until his death in the Obama administration
A lifetime full very unique experiences. Probably has accumulated more memories than three individuals combined. Hopefully she has documented as much as possible.
So this interview is from way back in 2005? Because Smith refers to her ambassadorship (14:51) as having been seven years prior, and her ambassadorship ended in September 1998.
This gives a good insight into some of JFK's character and into his thinking on foreign policy. Knowing what discrimination meant from his family having endured that and what being an immigrant was like. They were not the silver spooned people that sometimes they get potrayed as being. Being encouraged in a good way and learning about the goings on in the world is something missing in youth today. Great stuff!!!
When you didn't know that there was depression in the 1930s when you lived throughout the period then you're "silver spooned." So for diversity, Robert Kennedy himself said he never truly knew or thought about the black plight in America, Native American poverty until he became Attorney General of the US.
It's amazing how many sat one Kennedy resembles another. I have seen countless photographs of all the Kennedys. Stephen Smith has a different body build from his uncle. and his facial features are also quite different.
Why is the video covered up throughout by a picture of the exterior of the Kennedy Library building? When I slide the cursor on the bar, it shows what it should look like, but returns to the same still image.
I often sit during these videos and wonder why he was killed?? It's obviously very sad that it happened to the man but some people felt they had no choice, for whatever reason. In my personal opinion I believe it was certain people who sit in the shadows pulling the strings of GOV who perpetrated this awful crime but to say it was somebody specific would be foolish on my part. I honestly believe Robert Kennedy was his death nail because he made so many enemies in Washington to be fair, and yet it could have never constituted the murder of a President of the USA. It was definitely one of the most sickening events in world history and I hope some day the truth will out. I long for that day but I will not hold my breathe because those who had it carried out still hold sway in this world whether it is through the fact that they still live or their family and friends are still very powerful within the secret societies of the country. It's true that he might've made enemies in his shirt time in the Oval Office but he didn't deserve to be treated in the way he was during his assassination in Dallas, Texas. I watch those video reels and have noticed that the shot to the side of his head from the Grassy Nole?? If you look at those shots of video the gunman or men obviously waited for his wife to move before taking the final kill shot. That has always made me wonder what the heck that was about? It's like they waited for Jackie to move before taking that fatal and final destructive shot which killed the man, RIP JFK, rest in peace old friend.. You are gone but will never be forgotten by all Irish people or most people in the world who knew what you really stood for. God Bless him and Bobby and all the others who died in mysterious circumstances. It's a weird thing that once they backed off the Presidency they were ok and allowed to live free from death but when the young son of JFK decided to run he was involved in a so called "accident" when his plane crashed even though he was an accomplished pilot by all accounts..
@@deborahgolias5666 - Really? Is that the only reason for it? If so, it's a perfect example of what happens when vanity goes awry. People - no matter how terrible you believe you look, don't ever let anyone take a surgical instrument to your face. The results can be tragic.
@@pillsie It doesn't look like bad cosmetic surgery related. My guess its something like scarring from cancer, trauma or serious burns. Of course its purely speculation.
WE LOVE WE OF THE FOLLOWRS AS A SOME IN THE WE OF THE FAMILY THAT HAS GIVEN WE REVOLUTIONS AS A WORLD IN THE WE AS A EFFORTS AS A WE AS A INVITE BE TOO TO THE THEY BY THE READERS AS WE CAN NOT BEING TOO TIED.
The book reveals NOTHING new and just really perpetuates the same old Kennedy myths and stories we've all heard a million times. And Jean needs to drop the word 'interesting.'
What did she write? And have to understand bobby had a family that was being torn apart so I don't doubt she wrote marylin a letter. Loved Marilyn but she needed to stick to unmarried men. That's what got her killed. The Kennedy's. Killed. Her.
@@mel_revealz Hi, there was a letter found in Marilyn's possessions from 'Jean' (no surname) saying 'I hear that you and Bobby are the new item...'. It's been in the public domain for years, I'm sure you can find the full transcript, it's not long though. It's long been theorised that 'Jean' and 'Bobby' are Kennedys. PS I personally also believe she was killed by the Kennedys to shut her up and that the apparent delay in calling the police was to enable Kennedy related material, including photos and her diary, to be removed from her house, though of course I could be very wrong ! I wonder whether, if such items did indeed exist, they're still locked up somewhere today, or were they simply destroyed immediately. There's only one known photo with her and RFK in it, JFK too, at the drinks party after the famous 'Happy Birthday' event, May 1962.
@@ysgol3 i agree she was supposed to have a speech that Monday to let all the skeletons out and not only did she let bobby know of her diary but she also let known that she was going to tell the world about her affair! Either she was just naive, stupid, or both, but she had to know that her life would be in danger!
@@mel_revealz I'm not sure. She presumably was in such a state that she wasn't thinking clearly, and maybe presumed that Bobby wasn't like the mobsters she often seemed to mix with.
