The Nintendo Switch 2 and Pokemon Legends Z-A 

My dudes it'd be a first for Pokemon to do this but imagine how smooth Legends Z-A could run this way.. What do y'all think, will the new Switch use the same cart or be a whole new console itself?

it's looking like there could be a new shortest gap between Nintendo's console releasing and Pokémon's next game.. i think this would make most sense if this new console is essentially just a more powerful Switch with immediate backwards compatibility

When it’s officially confirmed, I hope that ZA delivers on their new system. One of the best region/gen would be revisited on a new console, especially when it was cut so short. And with more time to develop their game to boot, I’m hyped.

Yeah legends ZA will probably be a dual release, and what I think will end up being called the Super Switch will use new carts with larger space but look the same Also please extreme ttar we all waiting for its finale

The Switch successor will definitely be an entirely new system not a pro model of the current system, they wouldn't refer to it as a successor otherwise. I don't expect Pokémon to make a separate version of Legends Z-A for the next system, I think it'll be a Switch game that can just run better when you play it on the Switch successor which will probably be backwards compatible.

Funny enough, Riddler Khu came back from the dead and mentioned Pokemon Day 2025

I feel it would be in their best interest to make it backwards compatible like the 3ds vs new 3ds. Also I dont wanna feel obligated to buy a whole new console.

I've been telling everyone since Pokemon Day that Legends ZA is a Switch 1 title. It's going to come out Jan-Feb like Legends Arceus. The next Switch won't be out until March at the absolute earliest, and more likely summer or even holiday '25 at this point. Gen 10 and Unova remakes will be on the new console so it's fine honestly.

With the swich successor being confermed do you think legends ZA will be on that or the OG swich wonder how gen 10 will go?

I honestly wouldn't expect the new Switch system to be this big boost in power like most want to believe. Nintendo will want to keep it cost effective, especially nowadays when the economy is as bad as it is. Having a system that's $499 or more wouldn't be that enticing to consumers. Not saying it'll be a small jump, but I wouldn't expect 4K or anything that drastic. Maybe at the same level at the base PS4, but that's about it.

it might be a b2w2 situation, where you could play it on the old console along with new (ds and 3ds) but if you play it on the newer one you get a few bonuses (pokemon dream radar connecting to b2w2)

I bet we’ll get the PLZA as a launch for the Switch-2. That way they can use the revenue for the end of the fiscal year. And I bet everything for the end of this year will get a Switch-2 upgrade or at least backwards compatibility

i REALLY hope we at least keep the joycons or something equivalent for playing walking/jogging on a threadmill with a controller is janky but really confortable with joycons since your arms are free to move lost a bunch of weight that way (sometimes i end up walking for hours without noticing because i'm too zoned in) to anyone reading this, if you never tried it, give it a shot

So one of the features that isn’t far fetched but doable, but a lot of people stream and it takes a bit of hardware to do so for the switch, the logical thing for Nintendo to do is add better hardware but also a camera, each new system that’s out allows that option. I had a ton of pictures on my 3ds of my friends and I still do, I just think it would make sense to beef up tech under the hood, but also have a streaming option a more customizable switch with start up screens, let’s be honest it’s kinda dull. More customization and added features would go far in my opinion.

I doubt they’ll wait right up until March to announce it, especially when that isn’t too far from the assumed release window. The odds of Pokemon being cross-gen are pretty high either way though.

So in the legends arceus game there’s 2 clans based off the versions (diamond and pearl clan) along with the galaxy team. Well in this game there could be 2 clans based off the 2 versions as well so the X clan and the Y clan. Each clan would have their own respective Pokémon that are similar to the nobles in the other games but they are able to mega evolve. However their mega evolution is unstable and they can’t be called upon at will. This is where the new galaxy team comes to play. They figure out a way to harness mega evolution via stones which could explain why only certain Pokémon have the ability to mega evolve because during that time period only the ones they found to mega evolve; they made the stones for. It could also explain why charizard for instance has an X and a Y form along with Mewtwo because either both clans have their own charizard and Mewtwo or depending on the end game whatever clan you choose to support you make a mega stone for their respective clan.

I hope it’s a whole new console with amazing graphics that can read Nintendo Switch games. So that you can transfer your Nintendo Switch Data into the new console. That happened from the Nintendo Wii to the Nintendo Wii U.

The did it with BOTW, there is a WiiU version and the Switch version I wouldn't be surprised if there's gonna be 2 versions, the best outcome would be it's backwards compatible tho, I miss being able to own a console and still be able to play last gens games on it, the OG Wii is so underrated bc everyone kinds just forgets it's basically a 2 in one console with the GameCube

More likely than not the game will come out on both consoles like with what they did with breath of the wild coming out on the Wii U and switch.

Legends Z-A will be a Switch only game. Game Freak is not a company to jump on a new console so quickly. And given how S/V and Sw/Sh looked and felt. They will join the successor for Gen 10. The successor will be B/C.

Legends Z-A is on the Switch and won't be on the next console. Also the next console will not play switch games. Sorry but there won't be any backwards compatibility. This is a new console. Not another Switch model like Lite or Oled.

Honestly I just hope the games run better on the new switch. I’ve played Palia on both switch and laptop, and the switch just CANT handle it. Can you run it? Sure, but the gameplay isn’t pleasant, can’t talk to players too well, it’s glitchy and laggy and just doesn’t work as well as on PC, plus the graphics are *bad*. So I’m really hoping the new switch can ACTUALLY meet the graphics of other consoles, otherwise it’ll be such a waste of money when your $30-70 games don’t even run that well..

While it would be wonderful to have a backwards compatible console, I doubt it. Corporate Greed is too strong, why make it backwards compatible when you can sell the same game again as a port?

Your back must be dying from single handedly carrying another dead on arrival hype season 🤣. Imo Legends Z-A being marketed as a game for Switch 2 would be a risk. It would come with the expectation of some kind of bonus functionality, due to the size of the IP and its integral role in selling consoles. Would have to be something pretty huge to create any incentive at all to buy the new console. I doubt they would do that. Based on the precedent of BW2 and USUM, they tend to hold off until they have a purpose built game for the next console. They don’t do games with 2 tiered development for different hardwares at the same time. In short, it would be a switch game, and sold as such. It would probably work on the Switch 2, but as the same game.

You dont need new features for the switch two you need it to play at 120 frames at 1440 or even 4k because it just sucks I dont wanna play games at 30 frames or less

If they're calling it a switch then really it should be backward compatible. though they haven't done that in a veryyyyyyyyyyy long time and they want to get as much cash as possible. Nintendo would defo wouldn't allow backward compatibility, no other big brand does it either anymore, last was the Original PS3 which let you play ps1 and 2 games. ah i miss that ... If Pokemon want to make sure they get those sales they'll defo have it on both consoles with performance differences if the new switch is built to a higher quality. they wouldn't allow an un-optimised version of the game be played on the new console else it would damage their reputation further and Nintendo would probably feel the sting too with the biggest franchise in the world not performing to their potential.
