I received mine yesterday. Hammered some 20ga Ni80 2.5mm. Tried it with a oneshot with a fruit top and a crust bottom, This device hit top and bottom perfectly and without the widget. I am quite pleased. Thanks for your work.
Hello, I received my njord yesterday and I enjoy the vape with out the air blade. Thank you for all your hard work. I look forward to your next project.
Hi Jay! I'm busy building mods these days, and we are having the warmest spring in memory. Very rare! Have to be outdoors hiking. Reviewing is a bit on the back burner now that I have a chance to do a mod, and I am preparing the launch of the Zathog RDA that will be here in a day or two.
I just saw the review of this from Jai Haze, and then I watched your video here. I got so much respect for you after those two videos that I'm going to go pick up a Njord, or two. Just to support you. Plus, I have a lot of Norwegian and Scandinavian ancestry and the Njord name instantly had my attention. Great video Morten!
I wish I saw this video 2 days ago. :-) I got mine on Monday at work & immediately installed a coil I had floating around in my bag. Resistance was too high on the sandman mech, but it produced good flavour at 80W on my DNA 250. I pulled out my knitting kit last night & made a 0.14 ohm fused clapton for it & haven't put it down since. Now my Drop & Bonza are not getting anywhere near as much love as I used to give them. If you take the time to find the right build for your taste, it's an awesome RDA.
The science of vaping! Gotta love this man! 1love peeps! Yo Mort keep the REVIEWS ROLLLIN in my dude! Sorry I was a bit late to this review. Very. Busy day, but still squeezed the time in to watch. 1 love dawg! 👍🗣️💨💨💨
I have now done my first build on the Njord RDA. And to be honest, I’m getting so much flavor! I’ve been watching a lot of videos about the Njord so I didn’t know what to expect. I don’t know if the Njord is made for this type of coils but I made a pretty crazy parallel coil. -Fused Clapton that is staged with a 24g, all Ni80 (24g*2+40g + 24g) The coil ohms out at 0.1ohm. As I said, I do not know if the Njord is supposed to use this type of coils, but it doesn’t matter because I get good flavor. The only issue imo is that I get dry hits pretty fast. But that has to do with the coil, not the dripper. I’m now gonna try to make a flat, hammered coil with more resistance. I waited a long time for this RDA and yesterday I finally got it! Great job on this my friend!
Have had mine on pre order almost as soon as it was announced despite all the critisism from certain reviewers from whom I have now unsubscribed. The promise of a cool vape versus all my other RDAs is what I am most looking forward to. Hopefully it arrives soon!
So after watching your airflow videos lately I decided to purchase the Njord / Sandman kit, and I must say I am not disappointed in my purchase at all. Taste is subjective as we all know, but you must have similar tastes to myself. I can't stand wet, hot vapes that seemingly all the most popular RTAs/RDAs deliver these days, so for me the Njord really was a breath of fresh air (pun intended). The cool, dry, crispy vape is perfect to me. Thank you so much for what you do for the vape community Morten. Ignore the haters. I am really happy to be supporting your endeavours. I really hope to see more of your ingenious design insight in more vape products in the future. Take care, big respect from the UK.
So, I have had my Njord for about an hour. I don't know where they got "No flavor" from. She has PLENTY! I am still on my first build which is a fused Clapton with 24g cores and 38g outer wrap, 5 wraps, clocking in at .34 ohms. I am not using the air blades currently, although I did try them. They bring out different notes of the flavor, and make for a warmer, wetter vape. But, the flavor for me is on point. Good job Morten! The only gripe I have is that it didn't come with any of your flattened wire coils. I would've loved to try those out.
Hi Morten, after watching quite a few of your videos & how you conducted yourself in regards of the criticism of your RDA, I ordered one ( 10mins ago ) well done sir, if more behaved like you.......the world would be a much better place ! good luck sir and I can't wait to get my hands on it and have a play.
Very excited to get my Njord, which I ordered 4-25-2018. Really looking forward to playing with this atty. I will let you know as soon as it arrives & I spend some quality time with your creation.
Nice design for vertical coils. But if I may suggest some revisions - 1.) anodized it - much better color adhesion than cerakote. 2.) add hole on the top wick holder so that e-liquid can in from both sides. Add a squonk pin in the spares coz the way I see it, direct dripping is already going out. 3.) redesign the tab from sloped to squared for a more positive positioning of the airholes and better grip when removing the atomizer deck from the mod. The addition of the air blades is a great idea for a closer air delivery to the coils.
Thanks Henry. This has allready been considered and tested. The paint job has been improved, but I agree, it is not optimal. Making it for squonking is not wise, as it only work for certain coils, and not for chain vaping, even with the second well opened up 3mm at the deck. It works for slow coils and casual vaping style though. Rocky Weeks has a fix to make it squonkable, I have done it, and fingers crossed that he publish a video on it soon:-)
Morten Oen I hope you succeed. Lots of atomizer designers out there that are either not the real designer or put on fake humbleness to get favorable reviews from fellow vloggers.
So will the Njord now be sent out with the new airblades and paint job to reviewers? Maybe the same reviewers? Different ones? Did Atom Vape do anything to the Mech Mod, regarding the finish as well?
Quick question: what ejuice do you use in the Njord? VG/PG? Brand? The less than favourable reviews I've seen are likely using 80/20 or 70/30 and may be missing the flavour carrying PG. The Njord airflow is a beautiful design.
Hi, I use 80/20. I use a lot of different brands of Juice all the time, and I do some DIY. I am one of those who like the flavor comming from the vape itself, not so much from spit back. That is the main reason for the very different reviews I think. I have no statistics for this, but it seems like the American reviewers like lots of spit back, sweetness, heat and cake flavors, while Europeans tend to like cleaner, cooler vape with fruit and menthol. At least that has been my impression so far. It is a huge generalisation, but I think the vape culture is a bit different from country to country. So far I would say I have got thumbs up from most users around the world, with Americans being the big exception.
Well, got my Sandman and Njord a week before Yuletide and use it every day. Was a bit hit and miss on the liquid selection but found a fruit and liquorice 60/40 to be beautiful and a range of fruits (raspberry, green apple, strawberry and blueberry) 50/50 to be accurate and clean. The vape from the Njord, with a steady, even draw rather than a heavy draw, using a 2.5mm ID flapton at 0.19ohms is ultra smooth and cool, nice medium clouds with quick ramp up. Totally spatter free. Have tried flat wire at 0.3ohm and 0.6ohm and found flavour came through equally as nice. Don't like the air blades, diminishes the smooth experience. Thank you for a great mech kit. FWIW: a mini MTL Njord could be awesome.
Just got mine today... Great job Morten! All I have to say to the naysayers that said they couldn't get flavour.... Bullshit! The ones that had trouble mounting the coil... Bullshit! Have mine built with a hammered 22g SS316 3.5 wrap 0.2ohm. took 5 minutes to install and wick. It's on par with all of my dual coil flavour RDA's. The real difference is that it is a flavorful COOL vape @ about 25% higher wattage than I would usually run a single coil. Good clean flavour without any spit-back. Don't really notice any difference with the Airblade installed (maybe a touch warmer).
And... it’s bought. That mech looks nice, too. I just got a Tauren, only my 2nd tube mech after the Dreamer, so it’ll be interesting to see if it lasts in my rotation. (That Tauren, though. Of the times to add tube mechs to my squonk box habit I picked a good one. It’s nearly as good as the Dreamer, but hits even harder, and has a gorgeous black coating over the copper, all for like $40 shipped!) But wait, that mech they offer w/ the njord, it’s just 18650, isn’t it? Well that alright then! My other two always have my 30T 21700s in them, or 20700s if those are charging. It makes sense to have a tube for my 18650s, ‘specially with the new Sony ones coming.
What kind of wire for a nice lukewarm vape on the mech? I have the sandman/njord kit, but the 0.37 alien with 28 cores I have in it does not do a great job. But when I put in on a regulated mod and krank up to 85 watts, it turns really great in both cloudage and taste.
A big four core fused clapton would work too, or a wide staple coil, I just like flatwire because it quite easy to make and ramps up like nobody's business
Yeah, framed stapled clapton for lukewarm vape, and just take a comfortable, slow draw. You will be amazed at how little force of suction that is needed to cool the coil down.
I know a lot of reviews panned the Njord on flavor. One on leaking. One on finish. Just got mine 3 days ago. Built a vertical .40 ohm Alien kanthal coil. Wicked it like Oen showed in his how-to video. I’m vaping Bad Drips Director’s Cut “My Undead Girlfriend” in it. I know what this tastes like in my Falcon, my Recurve, my Bonza, my Drop, and my Wormhole. In the Njord (air blade out) I get a very smooth air flow, zero spit back, and a cool dry draw. And guess what? I get all of My Undead Girlfriend, but it’s cooler and highlights the flavors differently. But tons of flavor. Been hitting it a lot at 70 watts, wick is still almost white when dry. No real burning. Usually by now I’d be re-wicking. That’s because of the great air flow over the coil. Of course not everyone likes what someone else likes, that’s the problem with reviews.
Gypsy JR well you must have that miracle gypsy tongue because even with the airblades it's still getting shit reviews! How you are comparing a single coil rda to a dual is just odd because I've never vaped single coil anything that stands with a dual coil. Unless you just started recently vaping and every flavor pops to you wait until you get vapors tongue and Vapor doesn't taste as strong anymore you'll be tossing the Njord in the garbage. It's just a badly flawed designed rda way to much airflow and rda size for a single coil.
Well done, oen. It shows character that, despite adversity and criticism, you were able to make some positive changes. I really wanted to get one but it seems like it's not my style. Best of luck and hope your project is a success!
Morten, I have a question regarding the air blades. What material is that? Because it looks ultem. I know a lot of drippers, tanks and top caps are made from ultem, but they are not as close to your coils as this would be for your product. I know ultem is a highly resistant plastic, but that is a plastic material none the less and I am wondering if they would be any health risk associated with having them as close to your coils as you would for this product. That being said, I also want to say I am enjoying your reviews and you have earned my subscription. This comment is not intended to challenge you or your product, I am just curious. I have been thinking about buying the kit for a while and might follow through on it myself.
Hi Stephen! I have no idea what the blades are made of:-) I never use them, and most people using the Njord find them anoying. The blades were made for people liking a warmer and more spattery experience, but the Njord is made for cool, light, high flavor notes, no burnt flavors, and a ton of vape:-) My point is that the blades work against what the Njord was supposed to do. If warm and wet is your style ;-) then you will find better RDAs, far better than the Njord with the blades. The best compromise I can think of is the MoseOne RDA. The air flow is somewhat resembling the Njord (comming in from 4 sides) but the coil is horizontal, so the vape is a bit "wetter", like the Njord with blades. Better go with the MoseOne or the Aeronaut if this is what you prefer.
Well Morten, as always this video is very interesting. Can’t wait ti get my hands on the NJORD...I have ‘plans’ for it. What caught my eye is the 502...when might we expect your opinions on how it functions. Also, eager to have the Zathog RDA in hand. Thanks for all you do and your diplomatic approach. 👍🏻👍🏻
The 502 is so complicated that no matter how I do it, there will allways be people pointing out errors in such a footage. Lets just say that with two slim flat wire coils, if the air did not hit them, it would be un-vapable :-) The 502 never gets above 38 degrees C with that build, so I think Jai hit the nail on the head with this one :-) If it was easier to build and wick it would be perfect. All that said, I might do a still photo to see how far from the air holes (or castle doors) the coils should be. Cheers!
Greetings from Romsdalskysten. Any idea when your gear comes for sale in Norway Morten? Happy for you that things is starting to move in a positive direction 😃
Thanks for all you do Morten, love your reviews can’t wait to get a Njord Rda. Also what is the name of that baby blue wape you were using with the top brass button looks awesome.
Thanks. The blue mod is a Dimitri parallel box mod, milled out of a piece of aluminium. Clones were very cheap som years ago, but they can be very dangerous and need a bunch of fixing (change spring, contacts, fill material in a screw hole so it don't auto fire) You'll find videos on how to fix a clone I think. Originals are expensive on the used market.
Going to attempt at finding the Njord now. I enjoy Jai Haze very much and I could fell how bad he felt for talking negatively about your baby. I am glad to see that you took the criticism of the paint and that Atom fixed the issue. I do not like the Drop one bit, cannot get any flavor from it what so ever. I am new to vaping so I buy a lot of RDAs to find the type that I like. Thank for putting something new that can give me a different vape experience as I continue my quest for the device that fits my tastes.
Mine’s on pre-sale order in China, hope to receive it soon. With airblades. Not that I don’t trust it without them but that would probably mean it’s the 1.5. ;)
I sort of do. But moderation is in order. We are talkning about drops of e-juice, the size of them and speed and temperature they are delivered with. Vape consists of micro droplets, that is why it is visible. It is the bigger ones, the ones that boil of the coil, that shoots out I have a problem with. And some RDAs tendency to let blobs of juice follow the stream of air. I think a lot of people mistake these (for me unvanted) drops as good flavor. All that said, heat and sugar flavor are flavor enhancers, and they are mostly noticed in the bigger drops. The last months has forced me to map out and create almost a new vocabulary regarding flavor and vape, and it's all very interesting. How all people actually preceive flavor is anybodys guess. All we know is that it is different :-) I could write about this for hours. Sorry:-) The important thing for me is that with a flat wire coil, I get exactly the vape experience I love with the Njord. What I do in this video is show how you can change that experience to some degree, and make the Njord do the opposite of what it was designe to do.
I got mine Njord RDA today. How can anybody tell there is no flavor?? I dont get it... 2,5 diameter 24g simple round wire and its awesome. There are notes that im getting for the first time in many of mine liquids and its sooo refreshing. No f*** spitback. The only statement that might be true is that the paintjob could be better but thats it... I think this is a must have RDA
Respect to you on taking the criticism and working on it . I am def picking one up as i do like a cooler vape . I love how your rda isnt the same old thing and it gives me a chance to experiment with some really unique builds .....so when are you doing an rta? Great video and keep up the good work.
I like T-juice very much, but I guess it's because that brand was the one I started with :-) The "black and blue" is the one T-juice flavor I always have to have in the house.
Thanks! Air blads was AV's design. They asked me about it some months ago, I told them what I thought about them, they promised not to alter my design, and said the blades might be included in the final package. Thats basically the whole story. Now that I see the potential in them, that we can create any air flow we want, I think it's a great idea :-)
Wtf guys... Vaping few years now. Mostly Hunter, Drabit but Njord is just different. My favorite now. You can build like a crazy with it. Have different sensation for sure, but most builds give SILKY, luke vape. Hitting different notes of juice. Don't get this whole hate party. Didn't follow Oen till now. You just get different to classic result, absolutely not poor taste. It's not Drabit or Drop, but it's worth to learn other tastes from your favorite juice. Kudos.
Just FYI mate, geekvape's idea of a framed staple isn't really a framed staple. A framed staple is essentially a tri core fused clapton but with the middle core replaced with multiple strands of ribbon wire. Coilology make decent framed staples, i've got one of their alien wrapped framed staple coils in my flave rda at the moment and I've been quite impressed by it Edit: I have to say, I'm really surprised you kept the painted deck on the release version, I can't help but think bare stainless would have been a better choice.
Hi, there are 8 coils in the box from geek vape. 4 with ribbon wire, and 4 "traditional framed. Guess they took some liberties:-) We could not do anything with the deck at that point. A stainless steel version is being planned. I agree, it will be a better choise.
I really wish you would start making videos again. Doesn't need to be about vaping, I've kind of left the community due to all the negativity surrounding legislation and advocacy in the US yet I'm still very much a vaper even still I would listen to you talk about anything. Weather? Check. Heilung? Oh hell yes. Black metal? Okay, cool. If you covered how the Northstar V8 had head gasket issues due to stainless steel bolts being used unsleeved in an aluminum head, I'd listen. Anyways, hope you're doing well!
For now I really like it... build it with an alien. You have to get used to the taste which is indeed very different from other RDAs. I already tried it in Stuttgart so i knew what to expect (and what not..) Since you get no splatter and a really cool vape I understand why some people are thinking it feels tasteless... but I'd say you get a very different taste don't know if you will like it.... i do so I am happy :-)
Ordered mine from Atom's site last week. Hope it comes soon. And good job calling out the wet wapers who love hot spitback!😂 I knew u couldn't hold back 👍. Keep doing u Morton. Dont worry, your baby is in good hands with me. I'll build the way you do it and see how it goes. Wish it came with some flatwire coils.
quincy catus it's funny because I "Wape" horizontal builds all the time and my wife doesn't Vape and sometimes when she smells certain juices she ask to hit my vape and hasn't once complained about hot juice or spit back and all I use are alien, fused, or framed staple alien coils.
mikenite69 Yea I don't get spitback on any of my rdas. Gotta know how to build. But Morten is right, some people like spitback and is normal to them. That's what they recognise as flavour.
Please drop the mech mod it comes with... Just the RDA is enough since you came with the idea of the RDA only.. Hope you finally come to a good terms with Atom vapes... If not, fuck Atom vape. Really looking forward to own this.
hi morten, always a pleasure listening to you talking about manipulation of temperature, flavor and humidity of vape. you made a difference between alien and fused clapton and that makes me curious: how can there be a difference as in the end both should behave the same, in my opinion (2-3 wires in the centre, wrapped with finer wire). best wishes and kind regards christian
Oh, the alien coils tend to "open" more when it is wrapped. The wrap wire traps the air more on an alien coil. You can "pack" the wrap wire mor densly on a regular fused clapton.
I always say, dont voice your opinion untill you actually try it yourself, I've watched several RU-vid reviews and some videos are just hard to watch, I dont own one yet and I can tell this setup has alot of potential to be a great mech and RDA setup! So I enjoy your videos and I will try to save enough to get one hopefully! Maybe design a dual coil RDA with kinda some of the same principles this one is based on, cause myself, love dual coils, I'm sure ALOT of others do as well!
First off, I love the knot design on the cotton reservoir. Secondly: do the air blades negate the directional orientation of the intake? Third: I'm interested in the idea of making a triangular coil, and untwisting it to make a spiral pattern (thin flatwire of course) to possibly create that circular airflow within the air blades, or to accentuate the airflow with the rda running natural. Sorry for another text wall. I find your approach to airflow very thought provoking
Thanks Joel. The airblads stops the engine of the Njord, and direct the air somewhat to the side. Triangular coils sounds cool. You have to send a picture if you do that :-)
Joel Fakelastname ... if using a triangular object to wrap with, like a file or sharpening Stone... The spring effect of the hammered flatwire should give you your desired helix effect. Just give an extra wrap, and it should spring back right where you want it.
I´m sorry but what you showed us is not a framed staple. if it was,, it would have multiple strands of flat wire stacked side by side between round wire. very interesting video tho
There are two variants in the box. One is multiple ribbon wire, the other one is multi-core round wire. Two ways to build them I guess. Thanks for the input:-)
Yeah it's from geek vape a Chinese company. One thing I've noticed is that Chinese brands label their coils incorrectly or something else altogether. For instance go on Amazon and look at the prebuilt coils and notice the names to each pic it's hilarious. I buy what they call is an alien but actually it's just a flat Clapton. It does give great flavor though.
Oh, I see what you mean :-) The first dense vape hides the rest, and that is because with my coils I rarely need any ramp up, so the densest vape comes last in and first out. Normaly, off camera, I do 5-10 draws in succession, and then the vape is just as fat and dense all the way. It's actually a good idea, to take several puffs and blow out more sideways. I'll try to remember that:-)
That's one of the advantages of the Njord that I recognize. The deck is actually so that you can do a lot of experiments with placing coils. Personally, for me, it's fun to play around with something like that
Thanks Morten. I respect how you handled all of this and kudos for having Atom Vapes redo the paint job. DJLSV is obviously a troubled individual, with him turning on some of his own friends and his reaction to your rda - a lot of it I feel is him being threatened with the technical attributes you bring to the table. I called him out several times for his immature and completely incorrect statements about airflow and his ridiculous little stick he used to show airflows "straight path to the mouthpiece". I was excited to get this Njord before, but with even more options with these air blades the excitement is amplified. I really look forward to seeing others try these new air blades as well. I hope Jai makes another video I think he will like the reduced chamber and redirected airflow. Keep up the good work and hope to see many more products from you.
Dear Morten I normaly don't comment on here but the whole DJLsb situation made me. I'm watching his videos for a long time now and while i think his videos are great in general, i also learned that you have to watch them very critically and that he is exaggerating often. Zero flavour, how could that even be possible? I have talked about your opinion with some vapers from our local community and they are mostly prefering warm or hot saturated vapes. Me too, although i have experienced liquid with sweetener is muted when vaped on high temperatures. So i think you just don't prefer the vape most vapers prefer and there is nothing wrong with that. Flavor ist subjective and you should present a rda that fits your taste even if it will not become the most sold rda of the year. Another thing are your tests. How can a square paper or plastic box represent an round metal rda and how can a toilet paper roll represent a coil? A vacuum cleaner will not draw air like a human beeing etc. so that is pseudo sience to me. Also you wicking tests. The more cotton you use the more liquid it will hold, that is clear, but what about the speed it is absorbed when it reaches the coil? I made the experience that if too much cotton is pressed into the coil, the liquid is not transported to the coil in time and i get dry burns. That is with warm to hot builds of course. So i tend to wick more lose than dense. So maybe you could make more clear that your tutorials are for your style of vaping. I am a coil builder myself and i hate flat wire builds, specially stapled builds because in my experience the liquid is vaporized to fast and so the taste is flatter than with round wire builds. So my personal taste and vaping style is the complete opposite of yours. Mabe that makes it understandable why some vapers won't like your rda. When you said caramel is nothing for the njord... I mostly vape caramel, vanilla and nut liquids, so i instantly thought, ok a just fruit rda is nothing for me. Still i would whish that the vaping community would be more friendly than so competetive and s***storming. It drives me crazy that one video or comment can turn half of the community against you. Whish you the best and hope your rda is successful even if it is definately no rda for me.
Thanks for posting Christian. I agree with most of what you are saying. In a resent video I even say that what I do is not science by todays standards, so calling it "pseudo-science" is a bit harsh I think. I would like to point out one thing though, and that is that most RDAs have a squere shaped chamber when the coils are wicked, at least untill the vape gets above the coils :-) But I take the point. I photograph effects, and have limited metrics. Yes, there should indeed be room and peace for different styles of vaping. Let's see if we can make that happen :-)
Thank you for your kind answer. Yes i was to hard when calling it pseudo science. I have watched more of your tutorials and you are more humble than i thought at the beginning. But when you read something like "he is the airflow guru" or "what if the people don't want perfect flavor" you get a little biased. I apologize for that. I have tried you coil positioning ideas on the dead rabbit rda and it worked good. After all i also think the airflow is very important and no other youtuber is so detailed about that. So you have won a viewer. I also thought about the Njord and decided to order one. I have so many rda's who in the end do the same job, so why not add a rda that does somenthing different. I really want to try my sweetened liquids with it. In Germany we say "probieren geht über studieren" (testing it is better than studying it). :-) Unfortunately until now i have only found the kit, and i don't use mech mods. Do you have a source where i can buy just the rda without to much shipping costs? I am from Germany and i would have to do the 6 month tpd waiting otherwise.
Christian H, I have little control over what other people call me, but I'm glad you are able to see through it all :-) I love your German proverb, as I speak a little of the language. If no shop in Germany takes it in, there is nothing I can do. Es tut mir leid, mein Freund!
Also a thing I work very hard to avoid. It tends to happen when temperature makes e-juice very liquid and follows the air stream with ease. Another thing is e-juice condensating on the drip tip and lips. I really like the juice to stay in the RDA, and only vape come out. Like in the Aeronaut, the 502 and the Njord.
Hilser herfra Danmark! I say now, that you use (in this case, the framed staple coil) from geekvape. if you ever need some handmade coils, like Fraliens, Aliens, Framed Staple, SSFC etc, you can send a mail to me (which is in my channel feed) and see what i can do.
Well, I kept an open mind but after a week of mucking around with this I am disappointed. I get where you're coming from with the "hot fruit soup" and I've no desire to be drinking mouthfuls of juice, but when I compare this to other airy single coil RDAs, the Aeronaut 2.5 for example, or the 454 for a more restricted vape, I find the experience lacking. Looking back at the teaser vids you did last year would I be right in thinking that the Cthulhu engineered RDA is your true baby?
Hi Chris! Sorry that you are not happy. I guess you have tried all the options then. I love both Njord and the Zathog. The Cthulhu Mod Zathog was suposed to be launched early April. It was almost finished when I started the work with Njord. The Njord is a "light" version of the Zathog RDA. The plan was that the Zathog should prepare the ground for Njord, a simple, light and cheap alternative to the Zathog experience. That did not happen. As you can see in my review of the Aeronaut 2.5, I really like it. It's slightly warmer than the Njord, but I find them almost identical in vape experience. I am here to help you if you want to give the Njord a last chance. Just wanted to let you know.
Hi Morten. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Your Aeronaut dissection was very helpful, that's my daily dripper with a 4mm ID flapton, giving me a (subjectively) perfect amount of clean flavour and warmth. Conceptually the Njord is really interesting, hitting the vaping vertices, but I'm not feeling it. Horses for courses I suppose. The Zathog looks like a beast, going to have to dig out the Noisy Cricket for that one. Keep doing your thing my friend.
Right. Like I said in the video, this is the coils that will give the lightest and dryest vape. The next step will be to test out an alien coil, but you might want to skip straight to a framed stapled clapton. While you wait for those to arrive, try calm and relaxed draws with the clapton coil. If you have or can make flat wire coils, they will give more flavor than the two coils you have tried. If you want really wet vape, go for the dual coil setup I show in the video.
Morten Oen haha nice, I do my own diy juice as well. It would be cool to hear what you are vaping on during your videos, esp if it's your own creation! It would also be interesting to see you on a @DIYorDIE podcast/liveshow! I bet Wayne would have a good conversation with you.
It is different, got my 2nd coil in it now, 2.8 mm wide kanthal flatwire 18awg on a complyfe mod and the taste it produces is so much different than anything else, Heisenberg just got cooler, rocket man just got nutty, nana cream became Nana ice cream and Kings crown has more peanut to it. Everything is just different. I use it now without the airblade, in the afternoon I tried a fused clapton 0.35 ohm and without the airblade that was flavourless to me. Morten, if you read this, you have created something very versatile, I will probably try a new coil every night now, my wife will not be happy with you... I'm from the Netherlands btw, package was sent from Hongkong last Saturday.
Was replying to b1rdkeeper S. No kidding, Morten bashed the reviewers for pointing out the negative points, by claiming that they are unable to recognize the best airflow and flavour. Funny thing is, he equalized a big cloud to the 'best' flavour in his argument.
I'm looking forward to see your modifications. There has allready been a very cool, and probably even successful attemt of making it into a squonker. I love this kind of creativity!
Hi Morten, I just received my preordered Njord/Sandman kit and am playing around and trying different builds with it. So far I really like the vape and the flavour production. One thing though which is not directed to you Morten but rather Atomvapes.. The machining of the Njord is some of the worst that I have ever seen. I have seen cheap(er) clones from China with much better machining.. My hope is that your cooperation with Cthulu Mods will result in something that actually deserves to bear your name...
Morten Oen I am interested enough to be willing to buy one, but I would really prefer to buy a ss version. Is that on the way, or not yet confirmed? I usually like black or gunmetal just fine, but for the njord I much prefer the aesthetic of your prototype to the black finish.
It really sucks u had to modify your baby for everyone. I can def see u dont like it. But I do hope it makes some people eat there words. Personally I cant wait till I can get one. My flat builds will be amazing in it.
I would say Atom, and they fumbled the ball on the goal line. They were desperate over the bad reviews, not understanding the product they made. It is a dry, cool RDA, optimized for flat wire coils, huge clouds, and crispy lemon/ minty flavors. I got caught up in the desperation and spent too much time trying to make the RDA into something it is not ment to do. You should get your hands on the Zathog RDA. It is both a clud and flavor monster. Now I only use the Njord and the Zathog. Nothing can compete with them for my tastebuds :-)
@@mortenoen434 Alright, I managed to find a store where they still have a few Njord available, should be here in about a day or 2. Question tho: is it coming with the airblades or is that an extra accessory? The store couldn't answer... ordered it anyway. If it sucks will blame it on you of course ehehehhe (It's a joke)
@@attilapinter7141 Airblades should be included if this is the public release version, and not the samples sent out to reviewers. Be careful with airblades as they break easy. I have never used them myself, that is, on a regular basis. Best of luck, and thanks!
Most people leave this place, it's a holyday resort in the summer, but for 8 months there is nobody here, a very unfriendly and cold and stormy place in the Norwegian mountains. From September to May you would rather be on the South Pole :-) I'm just stating the facts...
Yes you are right if there is nobody living with you for a long time it will be very boring and unfriendly for sure, but this is your intro for the people on youtube, nobody knows you personally in your real life, so this intro message is misleading, it sounds like "I am here so you do not have to be" where?? in RU-vidr or in this industry? it sounds like this, you got me!!. So my advise you to change it something more friendly and easy to catch and understand.
Tag line stays, Khaled :-) I'm refering to where I live, and then says that the rest of you don't have to be here. I'll run the risk of being mis-understood, but it's ok. It's Norwegian dark humor:-)
