Leave a comment if you see your model! Coverage of entries in the NNL West 2024 show. Sadly, it was announced 2025 will be the last NNL West show...
It was a very well attended event so I tried to film while avoiding disturbing anyone; I did the best I could to capture all entries. To my knowledge, unlike an IPMS model show, there are no specific categories or judging, although themes this year included Mustangs for the 60th anniversary of the car, and anything without four wheels (motorcycles, trikes, big rigs, etc).

That was my first NNL West and the very first show that I've ever brought models to display. Too bad next year is the last one. I could see myself going every year.

Thanks for taking us along for the ride! Can be hard to video these shows, in Michigan I have done video at the Detroit Motor City Madness NNL show.. Hop they don't shut ours down.. Great video!

@@scaleffect10.33 is where some of mine are I had a couple of mustangs on the theme table as well . I am an out of state builder I flew in from Boise Idaho for the show . I will have feature videos on the builds after I put together the build videos but for sure find me here northwindcustoms and you should find me

@@scaleffect It would definitely be cool to get the group together! Do you attend any other local/semi local shows? I've been attending the NNL's since 93, was a kid back then! This was the first year we made it to the Friday night Slice of the West, that was cool!

@@LeftCoastModelCarBuilds I've only been in the hobby a couple of years now, but back in November I attended the Tricity Classic in Fremont. For the remainder of this year, I'll be at the IPMS Fresno show on Feb 17th, I am hoping to make the Sacramento IPMS show sometimes in May (haven't seen a final date yet), and I intend to go to the Silicon Valley Classic this year in June. I also grabbed a flier for the NNL show in Holister in September, I'd like to try to make that one too if it works out.

4 of us made the trip from Hawaii to NNL West. Great show!!! My builds are the ones under the bright lights! 😊

Definitely! Being next year is it, I hope to meet as many local modelers and fellow video makers as I can. Going to be sure to allow myself more time to mingle next year and be on less of a tight schedule.

This was my hobby in the 1950s. I thought i was pretty good. I wasn't by modern standards. Put a smile on my face for sure!

You had a lot of stuff out there! I especially liked that littlest hot rod toward the center of your collection, I remember spending some extra time looking it over after filming.

Did they say why next year is the last?

Rising costs and decreasing members of their organization were the two main reasons that were cited as to why they want to discontinue the event. I am still hopeful maybe someone will step up and take up hosting it going forward, but that venue has to be very expensive due to its size and now proximity to the 49ers stadium (it's right across the street).

Nameless National Luminaries according to Google. Not sure where that comes from exactly, I'm sure there's a history to choosing that interesting name.
