I love nonfiction history books. I read a great history book recently, Mortal Monarchs: 1000 Years of Royal Deaths, plus a great historical sports biography, The Boys in Boat.

1000 Years of Royal Deaths sounds like just the kind of morbid history I love 👍

Hi Melissa. Your voice and demeanor go well with my coffee in the morning. Soothing, gradually waking up. If you narrated something I definitely would read it. Anyway, I was introduced to nonfiction at an early age via the set of encyclopedias we had at home. I loved those transparencies too. In my 20-30s I was the “self help” queen. I wish I had the money I spent on the “how to” books. Now (age 73) I read memoirs and some nonfiction Christian books. Currently I’m reading New Morning Mercies by Paul David Tripp. I’m adding the book about the epilepsy issue to my TBR for 2024. Cheers.

Yes, 20s-30s seem a prime time for self-help, and oh! All that money spent! lol

Thanks Glenda, how kind of you to say! Those old encyclopedias were a wonderful thing to get lost in. Not that I would want to spend money on them today, but I do pity my daughter that we don't have a set she can get lost in.
