Thanks for showing us. Absolutely love it in that blue… that colour only seems to come in medium so that’s what I’ll get. Always wanted one.. I don’t need one but I need one!
I only needed one, but I’ve ended up with 1 XS, 2 S, 2 M, 2L and 1 XL. Just need an XXL to make a full set 😆 I’ve also ended up with some of the other Base Camp stuff made of the same materials- 2 wallets, 2 travel canisters and 2 fuse box backpacks😲😂
I got a large for my car to put a wool blanket, big parka, fleece, a pant, pullover, some snacks etc in that I like to have with me while traveling in case there is an accident or I got stuck somewhere and have to spend the night in the car. If I have to leave the car I also can just grab the bag and have all my stuff with me. Great bag. Cheers.
I'm contemplating on buying it. Here, we have the medium on sale for less than a USD100 but I noticed that there's no shoulder strap to carry it like a typical duffel bag.
There’s so much adjustment on the shoulder straps that you can pretty much use the just like a duffel shoulder strap. I’m guess you could take one strap off and feed the other one across diagonally too?
No quick release - they still have to be fed through the buckle. I’ve got more details about the straps in my other video but the basics are that the new ones are thicker but shorter at the “top”’end. This makes them less usable as single diagonal shoulder strap. I’ve put close-ups in the other video 👍🏻
Hi, thanks for this review. I would like to follow up with a question. Which size bag do you think would be best for ski gear? I have helmet, ski salopettes, ski jacket, base layers, fleeces, goggles etc but am torn between whether to get the medium (71l) or large (95l). I have a feeling the large would be best but am wondering if it would be excessive. To justify the price spent on a duffel bag I plan on using the bag for summer holidays too, but as summer gear is so much smaller it would mean the bag will be hardly filled and look a bit sad if only half full. Based on this, what size would you recommend? Thanks in advance!
Hi, I don’t have any ski gear to test it out, but I can give you an idea based on motorcycle clothing which will be slightly bulkier due to padding. I can get a full motorcycle helmet, large boots (UK size 13) and a padded jacket into a medium, but if I wanted to put my thermal, waterproof trousers in as week it would be too tight a fit. This is partly due to the foam padding and the size of the clothes (I’m not small). I’d say a large would give you plenty room, plus if there’s a little bit of space you can use the compression straps on the side to tighten it down a little. Both medium and large are too big to be carry on luggage on a plane so you’re not gonna lose out by going for the larger one. The only drawback really is that the bag itself will weigh slightly more. Hope that helps?
@@edinreviews Hi, thanks for answering so fast! That helps a lot, as considering you can only fit 3 items (although bulky) into the medium that sounds a little too small for a weeks worth of holiday ski gear so am going to go for the large. Thanks again!
Hi great vid! Just wondering is there much point in going for the large instead of the medium size. I can’t seem to choose so I need some advice if it’s worth the extra cash. What I mainly want to know is do you think the large is too big or a better size the medium. I would ideally like to use it for travelling on planes, trains etc. Any feed back is appreciated. Cheers!!!!
Hi! It depends on all sorts of factors I guess. The large is a good bit larger, so won’t be allowed as cabin baggage for most airlines. The medium you could probably squash down a bit and get away with on some flights. The medium is still fairly big and if you’re filling it with soft stuff you can squash a lot in. The large is quite big for carrying on your back of you’re not tall. I’m 6’5” and it is big on my back. The medium is a bit neater - eg I can use it on my back on my motorcycle without it constantly hitting the pillion seat. Unless you’re planning on carrying a huge amount a medium would be fine i imagine. Hope this helps 👍🏻
The Welsh Nomad strap wise it would be fine, but you’d have the D shape opening against your back with no padding so I’m guessing it would rub a bit depending on how full it was 🤔
Appreciate the breakdown of the three sizes, seems like medium would be most "practical" especially if you can board plane as carry on. Is the blue one a banff blue or royal?
Hi that's great, can somebody tell me are these.. I mean smaller versions actually comfortable enough to carry on a small day hike 2-3 hours?... Thanks
I’d say they’d be fine if you stick to xs, s or m. Large is pretty big and if you don’t fill it the contents would fall to the bottom when you put it on your back, which would possibly becoming irritating after a while.
@@PeterDane783 I’d say a medium is probably big enough, unless your needing bulky clothes/gear. Medium is 71 litres I think so a decent size without being unwieldy 👍🏻
