I have the Northface Recon and and I'm very pleased with it. it's a great bag, it has room for everything. However, It's a bit larger than what I need as a daily carry, so I purchased the vault because it's smaller, and it's more suitable for my needs. In addition, it would work very well for stopping at a local park or walking through trails. I was considering the Osprey Daylight Plus, which would have been a better option but would cost a little more as well, I respect my gear, and i use it accordingly the Vault will suffice as my daily commute bag to keep my essentials at hand. Sometimes less is best.... I appreciate your review and your opinion, but I won't be living out of this bag. It's a decent bag at a reasonable price point for daily activities without the over the top inflated agenda and price tag to match. It's just a simple pack, that works. 😊👍
So appreciate your honest take. For EDC, curious about what bags that ride high, tight and comfortable speak to you. I'm Lauren's height. So far the GR1 21L (18" long) is the only bag that achieves two of three (still breaking in straps) but it's a heavy sucker to lug around all day. P.S. I, too, prefer a separate laptop compartment.
I was looking at an Osprey Daylite Plus the other day, it seemed like an excellent pack and just about the right size for a day to day bag and a weekend hiking bag. Which osprey do you have? Is it recommended?
Lauren, Tom, Kristyne and Eric.. my favourite Bag and travek accessory reviewers on youtube and they all work for the same channel.... Which is convenient.. 😂
I realize they probably have different lines of different quality, but my 20+ year old NF bag feels decidedly better built than whatever I see on the shelves at Dick's these days.
