Having owned the previous scout, the thing that makes the scout work so good is the synergy of all the numbers. They made it a bike that is very good all arounder vs a bike that would lean towards one particular type of discipline.

Some of the manufacturers list hardtail geometry at sag so it’s more comparable to full suspension geometry. They don’t necessarily tell you they’re doing this and it makes it difficult to compare hardtail geo on paper.

Thanks for the video on Scout. One thing I feel that needs to be mentioned is that Nukeproof does sell many of their bikes as frame only models.(Only the Mega Watt and Reactor are not currently available as frame only) The Scout is available at $499.00 so they are INCREDIBLY affordable as a frame only option. So if you already have some great components. You can save a HUGE amount of money buying just the frame only and assembling the bike with your components.

It isn't galvanic corrosion you really need to worry about if you're screwing Titanium in to Aluminium. You can get galling in the threads that can either cause the bolts to stick in place, or stick part way in and you can't wind them back out. That's mostly why you need a lubricant on the threads. I learnt this the hard way.

I have a 150mm fork on mine and found that to be the best compromise for bike parks and tech climbs. I'm totally bias'd but I do think the Rootdown/Torrent/ESD are the most capable HT bikes, albiet steel... that still remain absoutely pedal-able but why isn't there an Alu that works with that same long, low, slack geo with a 150+ fork for trail/enduro? Granted these are big planted hardtails, but with a great rear tire and aggressive STA, other than the weight, you never pay a penalty on climbing. BUT as they are so long, they definately don't have tons of 'pop' Lets put it this way, if you want a poppy fun hardtail, great for trail and screwing around... I say a less progressive geo is ideal and kinda mainstream. I like a short/tight package, simular to that of a dirt jumper for dirt jump, flow trails... to me a vintage reach of 450 on a large with a 74/75 STA and a HTA of 66-67 and a short-ish fork of 120-130 is poifect. I guess the Trek Roscoe is kinda the inbetween

Waiting for the steel series. Thats when you find tbe truly special bikes. My Nehaus Metalworks Hummingbird and Ritchey Ultra are awesome.

I am not a RU-vidr, I am not sponsored and I have too many things going on to dedicate a bunch of money to an overpriced full suspension bike, but; what I do have is the earlier scout and it has taught me a lot. 1. Hardtails mean hard lessons. Line choice becomes a priority real fast. 2. Compliance = reduced durability. Your compliance point is the weak point and where the frame will crack first. 3. Don’t buy a Nukeproof because the warranty is now void.

I have an aggressive hardtail frame suggestion, the RUROK KANLAON FRAME, which has a adjustable dropout for more aggressive or playful type of ride, you should get one of those frame.
