h/t to this video, which demonstrates the null test for TONEX, the Neural DSP Quad Cortex, and the Kemper Profiler: • Real Amp vs TONEX vs K...
This video shows the null test using my Deluxe Reverb and models by Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) and IK Multimedia's TONEX.
NAM is:
* Trainer: github.com/sdatkinson/neural-...
* Plugin: github.com/sdatkinson/NeuralA...
Details:
* The source tone comes from my Deluxe Reverb recorded through a Tone King Ironman II load box (no cab).
* The TONEX model was trained using the "Advanced" setting.
* NAM was trained for the same amount of time (though it continues to get slightly better if trained longer.) The ESR of the model was 0.013, which is worse than I usually shoot for in my videos.
* NAM was trained using the 3-minute "v1_1_1.wav" capture signal used in "easy mode" training. TONEX uses its standard capture signal.
* All signals are phase-aligned. For NAM, I aligned by eye. For TONEX, I did the same, but repeated the alignment 3 times and took the best result. Two results were the same; the third was 0.7 LU worse.
* Integrated LUFS was measured using Youlean Loudness Meter 2. Results are accurate to within +/-0.1 LU
