The T600 is a great little gpu. It can play games. And it does a pretty good job too. But how does it handle emulation? That's what we're going to find out today!

The low profile factor makes it really appealing for people who have office PCs at home.

A trick the T600 can do is turn an office PC into a remote gaming PC using parsec. Parsec works like Steam in home streaming BUT you can have full access to your desktop WITH xinput support and low latency streaming. The "Turing" encoder is really good on this card, so in home streaming is a breeze. With 5ghz wifi, you can keep all your retro games in one place and just stream them to any PC when you want to play them. One advantage of this is the game saves for your retro titles are in one place. Parsec will let you stream from a windows PC to another PC, Mac, iOS, Android and even Linux systems. It also lets you do crazy stuff like edit your vidoes on your powerful workstation, but from a chromebook or macbook on your couch.

These t series cards are really good. The t1000 is a decent step up for emulation even from the t600 and they work in fall form factor's pcs too and draw only 50 watt.

Yeah the T1000 looks great. It's overpriced for the performance difference between the T600 though, at least at the prices I can get it at in my area.

Of buying a new gou in 2023 to last 5 plus years, what would you recommend? Also, if building a new PC do you go the 5 year route or 10 year?

I think the 5 year route works better because then you can sell your old components to help pay for your new ones and they still have some decent value. The mid-high range of components usually give you the best bang-for-the-buck and retain good resell value.

Quick question; did you install the game ready drivers or the studio drivers when you gamed with the t600?

Both worked. It was detected right away when I had the gameready drivers already installed, and it worked fine. And then when I installed the studio drivers they worked fine too. No performance difference between them.

Emulation is pretty varied in terms of CPU requirements. Some use the CPU heavily, like PS3 and Xbox 360, and some rely much more heavily on the GPU like Wii or The Snitch. Also it depends how old of a CPU we're talking. An i5 6400 will do much better than an i5 2400 for example. I think you'd be able to do lots on even a very old CPU but not the higthest end stuff, for that you'll need something more modern.

Hey, got a question for ya, Dweeb. I have a gt 1030 d5, an i5-2390T, and a couple spare 4gb ram sticks in my drawer, and a spare lp itx case under my desk. I'd like to build an emulation console with Linux. Problem is, I always see emulation done in excess of 900p, and in Windows. My question is: 1) will these emulators run on Ubuntu, and 2) do you think this setup would handle up to xbox/gamecube/ps2 emulation given the cpu would limit the 1030 to pcie2? I've admittedly never done emulation except for on my smartphone.

I might be wrong, but this is my best guess - The 1030 won't be limited in a significant way on PCIe2.0. And I have no experience with Ubuntu but I'm assuming that since all of these emulators are included with Batocera that it SHOULD be possible to get them on any Linux build. And you might be able to get away with 900p but you still might run into a CPU bottleneck with the higher CPU usage emulators like PS2. Only one way to find out though! Build it and come back to let us know how it went!

You sure ppsspp upscaling is calculated that way? Afaik, you actually got it up to 4k at 10x. Why don't you use duckstation? Do you have the same issues as me in Retrobat, where the games run flawlessly when ran from the emulator directly, but won't start from the frontend? Did you have any issues with the ds? I've decided recently to try some games out, melonds works pretty bad. Can't make it go into correct aspect ratio whatever I do. Wanted hybrid, but no dice. Have you tried prime hack for metroid prime? Personally, I can't be bothered (got other games on the list way before that one), but it should give you widescreen and dual analog - or keyboard and mouse. I do believe you of that one though. And yes, I'd gladly watch your video dedicated to cemu upscaling. I probably won't do any of it until I upgrade my pc, but I would love to see what's waiting for me when I finally do!

Yeah not sure about the resolution. I use a resolution scale calculator, so I assumed 10x = 1000% of native resolution, but perhaps PPSSPP means that it's 10x the dimensions, not the resolution. I couldn't find an easy answer but you might be right. Thanks for letting me know about the widescreen & dual analog hacks. I'll look into those :)

I THINK it should be fine, but I can't say for sure one way or the other because I don't have an old DDR2 system to test it on, and I don't want to give you a wrong answer.

Which do you think would be better for emulation because I'm going for the rx 6400 and if you where to do ps1 emulation I would recommend the duckstation emulator.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'd think the RX 6400 would be the better choice if you don't have any other workstation uses for your GPU (recording, video editing, or streaming). If you just want raw horsepower, the RX 6400 is the one.

R7 5800x. Some emulation programs use the CPU heavily, like PS3 and Xbox 360, and some rely much more heavily on the GPU like Wii or The Snitch. I think on the less intensive emulation programs you'll be fine with even an old i7 2700 for instance, but for PS3 you'd probably need something 4th or even 6th gen.

I'd go with the 6400 if you only care about gaming, but the T600 is the better card for everything else (encoding, productivity, and multiple monitors).

Would running Red Dead on the PS3 emulator work better than the Xbox 360? I've found that playing on my friend's PS3, the game actually does look great, and performs without noticeable stutter or anything.

I just watched a comparison video between the two versions, and seems as though the Xbox 360 runs it better, but idk whether it was RU-vid compression or something, but there were some rips and tears while you were showcasing the T600's performance on RDR. RDR truly is an awesome game though. I played maybe 2 months ago or something and I kept on messing up my friend's honor level by killing random civilians, so he stole the controller from me, killed the entire village, killed ALL THE COPS, and then gave the controller to me and told me to head to the next mission. He was still confused why he did it.

RPCS3, specifically Skate 3, still runs like absolute garbage for me. IDK why. I have the same GPU, but a i5 9600k. That CPU isn't too weak, is it?

Yeah I think it's probably a CPU issue. You can see in my vid the CPU usage hovers at around 50%, which is actually quite high (your CPU doesn't need to run at 100% to be the bottleneck).

AH you sunk your teeth into CEMU I see? It's a rather good. The T600 is a great choice especially for 1080p everything with occasional 2k and 4k upscale.

Wow. Thats a little beast. Just checked the price. Expected it to be cheaper. So value wise ita probably better to cheap a cheap 1050ti for less than half the price. Bit disappointed now

Yeah this made much more sense back during the gpu shortage. If you can find a 1050 ti at a much better price definitely go for that.
