For real! He was not only lead on this song, but also lead on "Darling Darling Baby." (Another of my all time favorites). All the while, he was suffering from multiple sclerosis and, sometimes, barely able to perform dance moves on stage at live performances. Much love to him and the O'Jays!

Actually they have been around since the 50s. They didnt hit it big until they came to Philadelphia records. Their first album with Philadelphia came out in 1969. Songwriters/ Producers Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff put them on the map.
