I never watched the OC until this year (2023) and I am 29 years old. I missed out on this when I was younger. However, it brings me back to those simpler times… when everything seemed to better than today. I just miss the old times and the OC brings me back to them. This song embodies all of those feelings.
Crazy great show man I’m 25 and I remember watching this as a little kid on Chanel 25 back than when tv was simple . Back too the times when I was little kid man I swear time flies but yo Frfr this is one of my favourite series till this day I think I watch it once a year lmao !!! Great cast !
When Ryan finally let Marissa go, it was with a peaceful finality, knowing that he had held on to the faith of her memories, and that they parted because Marissa was always destined to go - that's what this song represents to me - a peaceful sadness, the acknowledgement of an inevitable ending for all of our fateful encounters.
I think all of us who watched the OC have an unspoken bond. Times change, people move on but for a brief time and everytime we remarathon it we have been part of this cultural phenomenon... We left the 1900s and entered modernity running... the fall of the Soviet Union, the last tie binding us to the 1900s, and entered true modernity, 9/11, war on terrorism. These little dramas helped us make sense of the monumental paradigm shift we were experiencing. And at the same time everything in the OC felt big and timeless... that kiss at New Year’s Eve, when time and space slow down, feels like those core values we all hold within, love, family, brotherhood, were being broadcast in front of our eyes... We will all hold this show in our hearts and I think these characters changed us all for the best
sono anch'io con voi ragazzi. The O.C. ha fatto parte di me quando avevo sui 20 anni e farà sempre parte di me con emozioni indescrivibili. Forever in my soul!
He would leave his reality just to be with her again. That’s how Much Ryan loved Marissa. Marissa’s letter is also a testament to her love for Ryan. She always wanted him to be happy with or without her. Perhaps they do they have it in another dimension ❤️
luke collett she did. I never understood why they had to kill her off, she could have just left to go with her dad permanently when Mischa was leaving the show.
She was a disaster, Ryan had nothing and was being a decent human being. Marissa had everything, took it for granted and it made here naive. The biggest problem was that she would always drag someone down with her. In the most cases Ryan, who got a better second chance in life. She was selfish in following her feelings and not using her mind.
Rewatching The O.C. for the third time has been a completely different experience then the two previous times. I'm sure the majority of fans agree this show is one of if not the best for music. Whoever the Music supervisor was did a fantastic job. Watching this time a thought crossed my mind simply what a time to be alive to be able to experience watching this show and so many other amazing shows that came after it. The first episode is iconic and has a certain magic to it. You know a show is special when a characters death actually hurts your soul and you feel the weight of it as if you knew this person. I thought rewatching and knowing Merissa's fate wouldn't hit me as hard as it did the first time watching it but it hit me even harder this time. Perhaps because between the first time I watched it and now I have had profound loss in my life that has stayed with me since it happened. This particular cover of Into Dust immediately spoke to my soul when I first heard it and I felt an overwhelming sadness which is in my opinion actually a beautiful thing. I wish this song was on Spotify. I realize this was very long and I'm not sure anyone will read this but I think we can all agree what a time to be alive and to have experienced this show.
@@angelb8035 Yeah. The O.C., Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill and Smallville are all shows I like to watch annually. I suppose they remind me of childhood. Simpler times
Loved this song since the first episode when Ryan carries Marissa into the pool house cause summer and holly left her laying in front of her house passed out drunk.
And he woke up, she wasn't there yet you can tell it was building an unspoken foundation and bond between Marissa and Ryan Atwood where Marissa knew no matter the circumstances and issues in her Heart of Hearts, Marissa "KNEW" shbcould turn to Ryan and Trust and Feel safER with him
Great series The OC was. And Charmed, Smallville, Firefly, Buffy, NCIS. Plenty of good TV (American & British especially when you have the BBC) whilst growing up in the late 90’s / early 2000’s - British comedy (Only fools and horses) and drama always at its best!
I used to hate this version I thot it was just a remix *** wen I saw seasin 4 last week (I'm new to oc) I was blown away...the way it's picturized Ryan connection to marissa...just beautiful...gives me goosebumps is
Still falling Breathless and on again Inside today Beside me today Around broken in two Till your eyes shed Into dust Like two strangers Turning into dust Till my hand shook With the way I fear I could possibly be fading Or have something more to gain I could feel myself growing colder I could feel myself under your fate Under your fate It was you Breathless and tall I could feel my eyes turning into dust And two strangers Turning into dust Turning into dust
I still can’t believe this show has finished I loved it when Marissa and Ryan was together and they loved Each other I am soo gonna miss it. But let’s get it out there how HOT is Ryan Atwood. X I would watch this over and over and never get bored of it. Xx
The OC has been tarnished with a mediocre brush because it was axed after the 4th season, but that show meant a lot to an entire generation of teens growing up. Sure the writing was hyper-realistic, but what it taught me about romantic relationships and the importance of communication with my parents was invaluable at the time. Not to mention introducing me to an array of cool bands.
I think the fourth season had one good episode which I’m glad happened it was genius when Ryan and Taylor went into a coma and he met Marissa and ended up getting her note when he woke up I think that was a huge part of the oc that episode was very well executed the song they used when he read the note was the same when he saved her life in the earlier seasons. Do your homework if you understand it you wouldn’t be shitting on it
@@domjoseph2007That’s one episode though. I liked Episode 1-3 when it touched on Ryan grieving Marissa’s death. Overall, it still didn’t feel like the O.C. and was probably its weakest season alongside Season 3.
you are missing the point of the show, yes they are rich, white kids in america BUT it goes far beyond that. Ryan (one of the main characer) comes from a poor city, he was beaten as a child and treated like crap. The Cohens give him another chance, they open their family and their hearts for him. the show is about real life problems many kids face each day, for example that parents are getting divorced, alcohol and so on. This show is anything but about spoiled kids.
i want to cry :( i grew up to the oc. i am a guy. 5 foot 11 and 230 pounds. but believe it or not i actually love the oc. i grew up with this show... its sad its gone. =/
all the songs remind me when I was in SoCal ( Newport beach) my college days at Cal State Long Beach , I also miss the TV show The OC, now I am a grown up ,stuck in Sacramento:(
I think people want themselves back. The person they were 15 years ago while watching the show. Or the circumstances they were in while they watched the show.
Yes this song reflects the OC well, but I don't listen to it for that. This song seems to describe life itself... for me, anyways! I love this love so much. From the bass to the flute...
I am wondering since so many love The OC as I do. What do you think would have happened if Marissa were alive in the AU? Would Ryan have stayed? Hope I get replies!
this is really sad bt when i listen this song remands me for my present wife cause when i watched this series im really deep very much in love with her i never feel like that before and i become crazy tooooooooooooooooooo much i really love her i dont knw why i feel that way?!!!
For not to say that I finished the O.C, I could not watch the last 4 chapter. I will be peaceful for not completing I feel inside. It takes different place not to this shape of world.
