If I had the money and the means I would track down and purchase all of the original issues of Weird Tales. The 1st generation of anything is always superior.

These early issues of Weird Tales are now available as exact reprints, including the ads, letters columns and artwork, for very reasonable prices, on Amazon and other sites. While they lack the smell of the original pulp paper, they are otherwise excellent.

@@nessiesearcher The fact that you referred to the smell of the pulp paper demonstrates that you know what you're talking about and for me just one of the reasons why I really would track down those vintage issues. There's nothing like them. I have know doubt that the reprints, ads and all are perfect and for me part of the reason why I'm not all in on getting them. The perfection. Even when those original issues were "hot off the presses" they were imperfect. The pulp paper being a good example. I'm partial to original things. I think about the 3 KISS albums that I've owned for 40 yrs. +. I could buy Destroyer on vinyl today, but it wouldn't be the same as playing the albums that I bought when I was 7 yrs old or so. I'm certain if I wasn't the one putting one of them on the turntable and someone put a modern record of ALIVE 2 on, I'd know the difference.

@@user-em2pe3rf4h I agree with everything you say, but I did want the OP to know about some alternatives.

@@nessiesearcher My embarrassment is only matched by my sincerity when I say apologies. My only excuse is that I ate far too many paint chips when I was a kid. Good luck...

@@user-em2pe3rf4h No problem at all. I have a few early issues from the late 20's but know how impossible it is now to find those issues from the first years and how expensive they are when found. So I for one must be satisfied with the reprints. Certainly no need to apologize. Best of luck in your reading and collecting the Good Old Stuff.

An ocean leech & a sea-thing walk into a bar (stop me if you've heard this one). It's an oldie w/the tried & true punchline "Bangor? I just met her!" I'll keep it real, tho & state simply that this Belknap sea monster dbl feature is dope & appreciated. Thanks, CABH.

I love how your video presents fresh insights on this subject. It's both enlightening and thought-provoking.

Fresh 1940's or older ideas re: sea monster horror? ;) If you mean that CABH keeps himself buried in the pulp fiction bins and brings us all the gems her finds, increasing our exposure to a broader range of stories including material we may have not previously been exposed to, I agree wholeheartedly.

It would be particularly great if you can find a way of using the actual printed pages from these early and now piblic domain fantasy pulps so we could read along. Two very fone stories from one of the Weird Tales greats. Thank you.

Do you know how much more work that would be per video? He'd never be able to upload as fast as he does, just so you could read the actual pages. That's a lot of work, for such a little benefit.

I actually have done this before, but the video was in portrait and text too small so i had to zoom and move view with each paragraph, was a lot of work considering most people listen to me channel as a podcast
