The MD-12 isn’t the only one that was canned by MDC, they had a bunch of cancelled concepts such as the MD-XX, MD-94X, an earlier DC-9 (Model 1942), DC-10-60, an entire family for the MD-90, etc.

Not me remembering the 747X

Solution? Kindly ask airbus for one a380 and then modify it so you can use less money

The Douglas MD-12 coexisting with the Airbud A380 would bring competition on the market. And maybe a full double-deck Boeing 747X could've been made. Perhaps in a parallel universe where MD didn't merge with Boeing and airlines were interested on taking many passengers in a single vehicle as possible, don't mind the operating costs, fuel burn and the time you have to wait just to get in and out of the plane on the Jet Bridges!

A long time ago like five years ago, I got this book from my school library for free that they were giving away which was a book about inventions and I saw the aviation page just recently and they actually had the MD 12 in it I was going insane when I saw it

Fun fact: i made lego planes since january 2023. Here's my lego planes: No.1: in January 2023 i made a 2 engine airliner. It's supposed to be a boeing 767 but i later upgrade it and i can turn it into any aircraft. Such as: 2 engine, 3 engine, 4 engine, etc (Transformable aircraft) ( Any boeing airplane s, airbus airplanes, Mcdonnell douglas airplanes and more), No.2: In around july/august 2023 i made a 4 engine wide body airliner. (Based on the Concorde but it's not tailness, It has winglets, it's widebody, The 4 engines are tail-mounted and it's better.) I always wondered what the md-12 was and this surprises me. It makes me think of the cancelled double decker 747 planned by boeing, but then again if the aircraft was made it would be registered into a different name that is not md-12 due to the merge. And if boeing's cancelled double decker actually worked out and managed to fly, everyone would praise it as an A380 knockoff since they never knew about it
