Not bad. I've been a Pacino fan for most of my life, and this is the first time that I've ever seen someone portray him in a film. This actor did a fine job. This is the young Pacino from the Bronx. The voice, accent, and mannerisms were all very close. He even looks a lot like Pacino during this period.

It's amazing that so many people worked for a long time to create this series, and I'm sure the actor playing Pacino did a fair share of research....and no one knew that Pacino had already met and spent a weekend with Coppola a couple of years earlier. Coppola wanted him for a script he wrote about a professor falling in love with one of his students. This was before he made The Rain People. So, the line "Coppola knows who I am?" is completely misinformed.

I didn't even know there was a Making of The Godfather series until this morning. When I heard about Anthony Ipollito playing Al Pacino my first thought was to wonder what voice did he use. I'm thinking please don't use the older Pacino's voice. I was very satisfied to hear his speaking part. The reason is months ago I was commenting somewhere about Al Pacino impersonators and how everyone of them always seem to go for the *_Scent of a Woman_* voice. Whereas the *_Dog Day Afternoon_* and *_Serpico_* voices just went completely out of the window. Excellent job Anthony my man.

Man this is not a good portrayal. His voice wasn't that thin. Listen to his voice from the first Godfather movie. It isn't that thin. This feels more like a caricature than a portrayal. It's just my opinion so if anyone here disagrees with me, let's just say we're allowed to have different opinions. Also, the actor is acting like Michael Corleone and not Al Pacino. Al Pacino as a person was way different based on the interviews that are there online.
@tinaaneke
@tinaaneke 2 года назад
Thank you. I agree. He’s leaning heavily into Panic/Dog Day personally. Neurotic-ish and uncertain. And his voice sounds so guttural and thin. The pitch is in the realm of Al but then it goes into caricature/impersonation territory. And sounds unbearable at points, which Al in these early feature roles did not evoke lol. And personality wise they just cobbled up an empty cardboard cut out of physical mannerisms and an air of general blankness.
