I’m pretty high on Titans this year compared to everyone else. I think they have an elite dps line that could just win games for them.

Okay heres my hot take and where I disagree with yall's ranking the most: I put Toronto at #6 Overall in my rankings. So heres why: First and foremost, I think we can all agree their backline is turbo stacked, I think easily top 5 in the league this year. I think a really good backline will be crucial this year, not only to survive the extra pressure from enemy flankers, but also to take advantage of the more open environment and actually do some more damage themselves on characters like Ana, and man do Toronto have a good Ana. I think Toronto's tankline is also very strong. I think Muze is being severely underrated, I think he was the best rookie maintank last year. His rein started out a little shaky, but improved as the season went on, but every other hero he played he was fantastic at, Fantastic Winston, Ball and Orisa. Hes one of the most flexible maintanks in the league and if theres any place where he falls short I think Hotba can pick up the slack. I agree the DPS department does seem like the biggest weakness for this team, but a Heesu Although dps lineup sounds pretty decent in the right metas. But overall, I think one of the biggest things Toronto has going for them is they are extremely well rounded. Sure, they don't have the absolute best tanks in the league, but they have TWO really pretty decent tanks, compare that to the many teams around them (Houston, Shock, Seoul, Philly just to name a few) who are betting all their chips on a single tank. They also have a very exciting main support player which, again, many teams like Shock and Houston are just lacking. I think its a well crafted roster that should be able to handle nearly anything this year can throw at it.

Boston Uprising is a professional organization. They have 3 support players, MCD Crimzo double flex support and Faith as a really solid main support. Valentine is freed, he’s unshackled, he can finally play the flex roles that he actually wants to play, and he doesn’t have to be like this star performer against your ranked xQc duo im37 all the time. They‘ve rounded out literally every single hero in the tank department, they have it planned out. A team that signs 3 tanks, they’re trying to do something with it. They have 3 members to complete 1 single role - that‘s professionalism, right there.

I seriously think that Toronto deserve a Top 10 spot this season. Hotba is a proven flexible player in the past that should be more likely to thrive playing a solo tank. Twilight and Chorong is a backline arguably equal to the Shock considering the reliance of main supports. While the DPS aren’t as strong Heesu really does have potential to be a star player if his coaches and teammates can give him the right support. This team could be better than Houston frankly as Piggy is mostly proven talented on Sigma and their backline lacking that main support and Iris having played nearly 90% Bap, a hero considered to be much weaker in the sequel.

This is definitely a crazy hot take, but an idea not explored whatsoever during the show. In OW 2 there is a lot of work to be done by the DPS. If genji is as busted as people think, who is playing it on Shanghai? Fleta is a serviceable Genji, he’s a great player but he has proved several times that he cannot CARRY on genji. Then the vote goes to Overwatch League Champion, the only player to get role-star for the bench role, Whoru who hasn’t seen playtime in like 2 years! There is a chance he comes out and frags but I think there’s also a good chance he shits the bed like he did on NYXL. I can see a world where this hole leads to a dip in Shanghai’s performance a bit this year. I think there is a very valid argument for either Dallas or Glads above Shanghai, but because they are the 2021 champions they get a subconscious buy in to 1st seed Curious to hear what you guys think

I agree with Reinforce about the London Spitfire not being 20th and possibly even higher than 19th. Tanks: Poko is a proven off tank, who was arguably the best western off tank in the world in 2020 above Space and Hawk. He even played over Fury and especially popped off on Dva. Even though he barely played in 2021, I still think he stood out the most when the Fusion players in visa hell 'smurfed' in Contenders. He was constantly making plays and also making a lot of important calls. His veteran presence is a good addition to the Spitfire, especially in OW2 where tanks can have high impact. I know people have their doubts about Hadi, but there must have been a reason London released him and then picked him up again. He was really good on BH and I think it's only fair to give him a second chance. DPS: Shax has always been a consistent player and even has some serious carry potential. Sparkr didn't play in the first half of last season, but when he finally came in, London managed to take Shock to map 5. If London weren't already mentally boomed and they couldve started with Sparkr, I bet they wouldve picked up a lot more wins. Lastly, I feel like Backbone is a dps a lot of people are really sleeping on. This guy was absolutely pooing in Contenders on Sheer Cold and later Ex Oblivione. He has also already worked with Spilo, one of the coaches. Man is nuts and can play a lot of heroes at a high level; I would put him AT LEAST on the same level as Naga. Support: This is probably the weakest link in the Spitfire, but still very solid. I dont think either Admiral or Landon have insane carry potential, but they are far from feeders and are a huge upgrade over Kellex and Ripa. Coaches: Spilo was already a great addition to the coaching staff made late in previous season when London was already doing badly. I think with a new team and a fresh start, he will be able to help them become a mid tier team. Christfer is arguably an even better addition with not only a huge ton of experience, but also some great results to back him up. Philly have consistently managed to do well with him as an assistant coach. He is now finally getting his chance to prove himself as head coach. Conclusion: London Spitfire are way better than people believe and I think they will finish around 15th, above teams like Vancouver, Boston and Charge.

i think gladiators might be a top 2 maybe even 1st this season because of the exceptional talent the have this season. I think if Ans is playing at the same/ better performance as what he did for the shock in 2020 he could carry the to victory especially with the new maps with all the sight lines and flanking routs, also with there being less shields Ans's widow could be the deciding factor for Gladiators. Also with the talent they have on the roster if the coaches and staff team can get them all to feed of each other energy and synergies correctly the team could be an unstoppable force however that comes down to how the team gels together.

it feels like (from the beta play) that with 1 less tank, hit scan is a must pick for every team comp. The amount of value a hero like soldier can get now is just astronomical. Additionally, tracer is going almost unchecked and unchallenged. The team with the best tracer and hitscan is going to win. As of right now i think the best tracer / hitscan duo might be kevster /ans or profit / fits

I think people are underestimating the loss of Pelican for ATL. He carried many wins for them. Also, their tank synergy I thought made them good in certain comps in the past and that won't translate well to solo tank in OW2. I think Atlanta should be in the 7-10 area and move up at least Houston.

Now, this isn't a huge difference, but I have shock 4. And that is simply because I can get behind this whole "they don't have ain support they are unknown". Violet is a freak, I have more confidence in Violet than any other support player to flex from flex to main support. And I think you guys are putting a copious amount of stonk into the Lucio train and I really feel like a Brig Ana backline could be viable and Violet Finn brig ana is cracked. And furthermore PROPER IS A GOD. And while I know everyone knows that I feel like being a god in such a chaotic environment when you're on a good team with good support staff is gonna be more important than ever before. I think one player hard carrying a game is genuinely gonna be viable and if I had to bet on one player taking over from pure mechanical skill id say Proper. But overall good rankings and a few other things I disagree with like I think Valiant, Paris is too high but not by much, so I can't really complain (also it doesn't really matter). i think atlanta are gonna be good and gonna be even better then last year, cause first of all with an all english speaking roster (even vemon and hes korean) there communication is gonna be nuts, the synergy between ojee and uv is ridiculous, they have the leadership from gator (despite him being the only tank). and they pretty much have everything coverd in dps, kai is one the best hitscan players, vemon staight diffs everyone on tracer, i guess you make can make an argument of nero being a downgrade to pelican but thats not even gonna matter when speedily comes in and even then nero still gonna be a good player. i will always put atlanta above houston in 2022 and id even put them above shock too

Let's talk about the Chengdu Hunters: - Mmonk already got to experience OW2 flex-support last year. I like him not having to share playtime with Farway again. - Nisha >>> Yveltal. Again I like him not having to share playtime. He'll be just fine. The support-line is probably the only part of this team that still excites me which is worrying because support is the least impactful role on the beta as of right now. - Leave: His signature hero is irellevant. Individually he will be fine playing some of the other heroes in his repertoire. But man this sucks for the team as a whole. - Jinmu: He must have improved his Sombra gameplay by quite a margine. Sure, he was decent in the past. But man this guy should not be in the league anymore. It hurts to see him stay while the org let go of Apr1ta. This also feeds into the "path to pro failed" narrative. With the removal of Apr1ta from the rost this DPS rotation went from perfect to above average at best. On a hot day Chengdu will still be able to win games against everyone in Apac except Shanghai. On a cold day however they will be really cold meaning teams like Seoul, Philly and potentially even the Spark will roll them and roll them hard! - G9ga heavily relied on Wrecking Ball and Winston (whilst getting Zarya bubbles and D.va matrix en masse) and played a solo-esk Orisa building his own little fort with his shield. He has been stripped of all these options. I really, really hope he embraces the power of Reinhardt and reworked Orisa, otherwise this guy is gonna get super-exposed this year. - Daizi: Liquipedia says it's Riven who shared some playtime with Off on Team Chaser next to Xray. The tank situation concerns me greatly. I did not like G9ga on anything but his Hammond last year and think he was massively overrated. He would often go in, soak up some damage and cooldowns and then die. The only major benefit he provided was that said cooldowns could not be burned on Leave or Mmonk or whoever was playing next to them at that time. Overall CHD should compete with Philly Fusion for 3rd rank, at worst they rank 4th over Spark. Everything else would be an enormous desaster. For all of the above reasons I have CHD as my pick for "team that's gonna implode mid-season". Really hated to write down the harsh truth, but someone had to do it. F to this once great franchise. All because of the f***ing Great Reset.

I think fusion > outlaws mostly bc the fusion are much more well rounded. They have a main and flex supp and a main and FURY off tank. Zest mn3 are a really good duo because they both have a good tracer and can cover almost every dps combo, with a carpe taking a backseat and can now just be a more focused player instead of having to flex. I feel like they have just enough flexibility to allow them to play most things well but not too much flexibility that their rotations will be wack like SF last year.

For me NYXL is the underrated team, I know they don't have a main support and that looks like it's gonna hurt but Kellen seems like a fine tank and yes I might be a Yaki simp but him and Flora can pound.

About Seol... I think the role of tank will be like a DPS on steroids in this new 5v5 overwatch. If we think like this, Fits can play Doom. Smurf can play Winston, Rein, Orisa, Ball and Hog. Profit can play Zarya. The only tank we might have a problem with is Sigma, but I think Smurf can handle that. Anyways, Smurf is an amazing player, I won't be surprised if he plays well in all tanks. We can not forget that they DPS line has maked a big Grand finals against the all might SF Shock in 2020. Fits is a very great hitscan player and Profit is maybe top 5 DPS of all time of the League. Some says that he is the GOAT, and theres a point on this afirmation. I think the big interrogation point on this team is the supports. Lets be honest... Creative is a good player, but is not consistent. He can plays a good Ana, Moira and Zeny but his Baptiste its just ok. For what I've whatched of Countenders, Vindaim can play Brig, maybe Mercy and thats all. And we all know that Lucio it's gonna be a master pick on OW2. I think this is too little for this team. They need a player who can plays Lucio and even the heroes they can play are not in a high level to compete against outhers suport lines in the league. If Jonak was not retiring, I think we could espect more of Seol. Maybe they can sign someone more to the support line... But at this moment, Seol is not enough to compete against the bigest teams in the league.

I think Chengdu is underrated. I'm surprised Hanzo wasn't mentioned as one of Jinmu's best heroes and I think a good Hanzo can be fine even in a double hitscan meta.

No one talking about the fact Spark have to run a Chinese/Korean support line, which historically has always been Sparks issue. All the talent but could never bridge that mixed roster divide.

id say atlanta are too high. NA contenders support duo will get FARMED by higher caliber dps that they arent used to and when those same dps are more deadly in OW2. I also think Unter was crucial to this team. I dont think ATL get even close to 2021 Grand Finals without him. He turned that team around quarter way through last season. I dont believe in their current coaching staff, hell they barely have one, I consider them a player run team and player run teams dont work! Hawk and Gator are fine individually but I dont think they stack up to people like smurf, Void, Hanbin or Fearless on their respective rolls. DPS is top tier but thats all they have going for them. I think the cracks will start to show when the meta evolves and ATL get left behind.

Alright Sideshow I'll take your challenge. The worst placement on here could go to several teams, but I'm gonna pick the Spark. I think they suffer from a very similar argument that you guys made about the Justice in the fact that they didn't change up their coaching enough. This has always been a team with lot of talent on it with players such as Guxue and Shy, but time and time again the team is mismanaged and this leads to the team collapsing and underperforming.

i feel like losing jecse is gonna be a bigger problem for dallas than we think. i feel like jecse and moth have the same kind of intangible impact and losing that can only be a bad thing. something about the titans inspires confidence in me, i don't know what it is but i feel like they're gonna super over preform.

Charge should be a lot higher imo. Ch0ng has been really strong in 2020, You could say you was playing with a very weak Backline in 2021. We've massively improved with Unique over Mandu and Molly over Kariv. I think people forget sometimes how nutty Molly was on Chengdu in 2020. With a more stable backline Ch0ng could reach back to his 2020 form while Rio isn't some hyper carry MT, He's always been solid and with the game being more focused on DPS now, I feel if Rio can just be allowed to play his Orisa and Rein to an decent level we could be fine, Imo Orisa is also his best hero. If he can get used to her new kit, I believe in Rio having his best season so far. Choi is a nutty Tracer and genji player. He was hard carrying the team last year and was going toe to toe with most Tracers in APAC. He suffered from the same issue as us having one of the worst support lines. Eileen is still a very decent player! He has a very strong hero pool and He is a decent hitscan. We just had Happy on the team so he wasn't forced onto it as much from 2020 and He only showed flashes last year. But could be more of a factor if Develop doesn't work out, Then when Develop has so much potential, It's why Shanghai picked him up and start to mold him last year, He was pretty good coming into the league from contenders. Sungwoo also gets to be the HC from the beginning of the season and gets to mold the team into his imagine and I think we have a ton of potential in APAC. I'm not saying we'll be a Top 10 team by any means. But I think we easily could be top 4-5 in APAC depending and a Top 13/14 team overall. And if we manage to pick up Apr1ta or Yveltal/Faraway. That's just even better.

Defiant could have Dragons roster and platchat would still burry them and how is Shock even in the top 10 with all the question marks on them.

I think the Charge are going to be better than 17. They're not going to win anything serious, but their DPS is better than they've been given credit for, I still simp for Cr0ng (and they won't have to use Rio), and their supports don't pee on themselves (in fact, they will probably pee on other supports pretty frequently). There's no way they fall under the likes of Boston or NYXL. I can even see them higher than that, if everything hits right.

Coherent arguement, eh...? I think Defiant have been slightly underrated, but the reasoning is on you fellas. During your discussion about Toronto, my understanding is that they have average tanks, potentially above average DPS, but a backline that could be in contention for best in league. The point was made that because the initial feeling for OW2 is that support's ability to contribute is limited, they could not be rated higher due to other role's player limitations. When the discussion moved into the top 10, especially Fusion/Outlaws/Hunters, all of a sudden the support heroes and their impact became an important factor. Not twenty minutes before you had dismissed the impact of supports, and suddenly they were being discussed as if they were much more valuable than other roles. You need to decide whether or not you believe supports can play a leading role in a team's fortunes; you can't have it one way for one team, then another way for the next. With that said, I would have comfortably moved Defiant up to 9-10 on the list.

I believe that NYXL weren’t interested in any of the remaining main supports near the end of the off season and they just got vulcan so they can stall and kind of just swallow the mediocre start of the season to get someone that shines in the mid season.
