I loved the original, and I love this version even more. The chorus has has that gripping melancholic sound that I love and gives me shivers down my spine, also found in songs like "Come As You Are," by Nirvana. Love it, love it, LOVE IT.
I loved the original one from 92, was my very favorite on ignition. I'm not so much into re-records, but after few replays i feel this one more mature, more meaty, more guitar riffs, even in the background, and i really like the "new" refrain. This song just grew up. Awesome work! Hope they will play it in Budapest in june :)
Gaah this is such a weird thing for me. It's one of the best songs on Ignition and this sounds way better, but some of the bits they added just don't work for me. Maybe I'm just so used to the old song though. It's been 25 years i guess. But seriously, that guitar sounds freakin sweet.
Sharin' on this beautiful melodic piece of history. My favorite song of all time from one of the best bands! Now I know the lyrics, too! All the better☺ now let's sing it!!
whoever the jerks are who put 9 thumbs down on this video have no idea what they're talking about. The Offspring are amazing and this is probably the best quote unquote alternative song ever
I would say this is how Offspring ment the song to originily sound like. But as I can respect their choise to release this, to public. It's not the first time this has happened... Ramones was constantly bugged with this... "can you do this...", "change that"? Not in tearms of changing old songs... but more inte the feeling of songs. I would personaly said to offspring... leave this song as it is... or just re-recordit as is... I would tell ramones... don't record ever after album 5 except for a couple of tracks.
Regarding the metallica-comment, i cannot say a word about copying. They both play different music. I don't like Metallica, musically ( don't like thrash metal), and morally (napster-stuff; just read about napster regarding Offspring, it tells so much, who plays with heart, and who plays only for the living), although i love Trivium (attending to their second concert here in Budapest), who were deeply influented by Metallica. I don't like their Ascendancy album though, it's too thrashy for me.
wtf, did they copy? Im' a huge metallica fan, but my first and favorite band are The Offspring. I' ve seen them both live. I' ve seen The Offspring only ''copy'' themselves sometimes.
its... " don't wanna hate you so, but love you more, i'm so elastic oh all the things you say, the games you play, the dirty magics out" as far as i know lol
things you say..games you play..very original...really. Anyway it's strange that you lovo both bands I love metallica and the thrash in general and neoclassic too like trivium, malmsteen, but offspring are very very very immature this song is the only one we could listen without switch it off before the end. Strange but it's your own feeling.
