The one story neatly sums up to reason why the Qing dynasty was doomed. A pro-reformist concubine was executed by a traditionalist eunuch on orders of the all-powerful old Dowager Empress. In the end, all this palace conflicts was pointless, as in 1911 Sun-Yet-Sen proclaimed the China Republic.
That was only one of the many reasons why. Other reasons were because they were too old school, getting weak and needed to modernize in order to survive in the modern age.
Have you visited the Imperial palace? The areas where the concubines lived, including the well area? The vibes are so creepy and my hairs stood on end at some parts. I guess there’s still many angry souls around. Cixi must be still burning in hell. She was an evil woman who ruled the palace very cruelly.
About her sound like a vicious, imbecile and lunatic Empress Dowager in here era. But who know, almost all the monarchies in Asia were very vicious and based on one person's power.
I had a feeling and have heard stories. I hope to visit one day and can tell that there were many horrible things and events that took place in the imperial palace. There were rumors that CiXi, Empress Lu of the Han Dynasty and Wu ZeTian of the Tang Dynasty are all the same soul whom are all reincarnated. There may be some truth to it as they were all so power hungry and extremely evil.
Cixi was never Empress, but she was the mother of the only surviving son of the then Emperor. She was a mere concubine. Technically, the Empress was the Empress Dowager and the official mother of all the Emperors children. But Cixi proclaimed herself Empress Dowager, she was Co-Chair with the Empress
@@fuchurZeroBut concubines who have a biological son automatically become an Empress Dowager if their son becomes king. Just like in the case of De Fei, but De Fei was a kind lady unlike Cixi.
@TrinhNguyen-sh4fj no, they officially became the Concubine Dowager...sometimes, when the Empress already has passed away, they would assume the title of Empress Dowager. As I said, the Empress is the legal mother of all the Emperors children, although not the biological one
