The Old Guard | First Fight Scene 

This scene really set the tone for the movie. It's fast paced, fluid, and seriously brutal. It showcases the fighting styles of each of the characters nicely as well as their teamwork. Centuries old mercenaries at their best.

I love the rush towards the mercs after they revive - no fear, no yelling, no hesitation. What a good film.

I love that Joe has a scimitar and Nicky has a longsword. What a great detail about their intertwined story in the Crusades. Two sides of the same coin those two.

Fight choreography in this movie was 10/10. Totally caught me off guard

So I walked into this movie completely blind. I was actually not really paying attention the 1st time around until this scene. This scene locked me into the movie and now I really really want a sequel.

The shotgun sequence was the most original thing I've ever seen.

For those who haven't seen the movie, imagine Wolverine / Logan but he's been in every single major conflict or war since mankind has written history. He modernizes to every era and instead of him becoming old he never ages. Spoilers not included.

I just watched this movie the other day, and it has to be one of the most underrated films I have ever seen. CGI was done to perfection, the fighting styles of each character was presented perfectly, the effects really went beyond what I expected as a whole, overall, an incredible movie experience, 9.5/10 from me

According to Charlize Theron, the fight scenes were all done by the actors instead of stunt doubles. 😯

Honestly, I'd really love the breakdown of how the shot Andy coming back to life. From 0:56, you can see her iris contract, which signifies she's still alive but the light has been in her eyes the whole time. It's such a small detail but its soo good!

I love that the film shows how painful it is to come back to life. There isn't a complete respawn like in a video game.

I really enjoyed this movie! I kinda wish it had been a series. The fighting was badass.

So many good details on this movie! The swords reminding the origines, andy looking at her reflection and I love how Joe just goes straight to Nicky's side instead of just charging forward like the rest did. God I love this movie.

A sword in a hand of an immoral is too unstoppable.

Nicky's swordmanship is so beautiful. He's like dancing. I hope next movies come as soon as. I really want to see like this beautiful fight scenes.

The pupil scene is badass!

Love the music here! Unlike the stereotypical juiced up superhero music we are used to, the BGM here is emotional with a lot of depth. Also I am legally changing my sexuality to “Andy wielding her axe”.

The fight choreography in this movie was god tier and you can tell those men were shitting their pants knowing that they'll never win against a powerful band of immortals with axes and swords.

Man this was a bloodbath. Those poor soldiers with maybe 7, 10 15yrs experience are nothing compared to Warriors with centuries of training how to kill in ways the modern era will never know. Damn. And i love the sound Andys Axe makes! Like Thor's hammer and Caps' vibranium shield

That spit bullet scene is epic. God Mode!!!

I didn't watch the trailer so I had no idea what the movie was about, and this scene felt so refreshing.

That music that plays as they are healing from their wounds and slaughtering the soldiers is just sooo *SICK* to me. Love it!

WHAT I JUST NOTICED that i think is cool about the Pupil part, is how she's looking at her own reflection.

A great scene. You see Theron’s pupils constrict as she returns to life. They rise after their slaughter and you “get” what they have attained. They then attack and show you their skill. They use some weapons that show you how rooted they have been in history. Even the music connotes less as about this being just “action” but, rather, inevitably.

The battleax she's using is known as a Labrys. An ancient design traced back to Crete.

Literally I freaking love this movie

Good enough movie, don't set your expectations too high and you'll be fine. The film however felt like an expensive TV pilot for a series and the story sets itself up as if it could be a tv serties.

I wonder if anyone else has noticed that their immortality is affected by their desire to live, not want but desire as time passes that fades and the same things keep happening and at some point internally they submit to death. If you noticed how the one who had his stomach blown open healed slower. His will to live is lessening as time passes

2:17 that scene kills my heart

I like how the 3 who came before guns were invented, prefer their original melee weapons. It shows even after centuries they prefer what they’re familiar with & makes them just that more human/relatable.

The scariest part was when Andy's friend being thrown in the water. She has to be drowning and coming back over and over again for how long. They still suffer and feel pain. It's more of a curse than anything. Sorry just think too much. 😅

A side effect of their immortality is that the cameras can't seem to be able to hold steady on them when they move.

the face of modern warfare. These people have thousands of years of fighting experience and without their revival ability, they would have died because of an ambush and bullets. This fight is actually remind me of fighting in Sekiro

That axe and sword game is dope

Despite the fact that the trailer for this movie was absolutely terrible, (specifically the song - it was awful), i was was pretty damn hyped for this film. Having some knowledge of the source material, combined with the small snippets of it's action scenes we saw from that trailer, it had the potential of being really good which was why going in I had some decent expectations, and yet this movie not only met them, but exceeded them! Scenes like this masterpiece is why "The Old Guard" is one of my favorite comic-book movie adaptations. It's easily top ten for me, or maybe even being legit one of my top five! The action is great enough to make this film a watch, and though it's story wasn't mind-blowing, it was excellently executed and the directing and acting were all awesome as well. Of course "The Old Guard" aren't without it's flaws, like any movie, but none of these flaws were bad enough to overshadow the awesomeness of everything else in this film. Biggest complaints are that i wish they had more action scenes, specifically ones where Andy gets to use her badass battle-axe. And secondly the score, which was a mixed bag more so than it totally sucking. I mean you had the score for this scene in particular that happens to be nearly perfect, while then for some reason you had that godawful pop song playing during the church fight scene. Anyways - at the end of the day, even if you didn't like anything else about it - the action/fight scenes alone made the movie worth the watching imo. As it stands now, i think it's the next best Netflix original action film behind the two "Extraction" movies. Other action movies like "Triple Frontier," "Outside the Wire," "Altered-Carbon: Resleeved," "The Outlaw King," and "The Harder They Fall"- despite all being really good action flicks, I still think this film is hands-down better than them and are therefore the tier below the "Extraction" movies and "The Old Guard."

What I like about this is that the blood from their wounds doesn't magically vanish or gets absorbed somehow, like in almost every other movie. Wounds close - fine. But always the blood disappears too. Why? Here it is done right
