One of my favorite Jimmy Webb songs, first released by Mark Lindsay in 1969, then by Glenn Yarbrough in 1970 and another by Judy Mayhan, also in 1970.

Magical song. I'll always love Mark's version the most, but I like this version too

For me Mark's is the definitive version but I thought Glenn's needed to be on RU-vid as well. Thanks for commenting!

Many many years ago I heard a demo of this song by the author, the incredible Jimmy Webb. Disbelieve me if you want, but Jimmy's version was FAR better than ether Glenn's or Mark Lindsays'. Jimmy, if you're reading this, PLEASE post the old demo here on RU-vid!
