It wasn't low rating that got it canned. It was the fact that it was deemed to be too funny for prime time audiences and that most of the jokes would go over people's heads. @JESL_TheOnlyOne
@JESL_TheOnlyOne 3 года назад
A) The trick can work, but you still have to alter your voice to be effective. B) I recall Nielsen as a fairly ubiquitous dramatic actor who did a LOT of TV. Then, he faked out everyone like Jim Brown and went 90° into comedy gold for an even better career. Not too many thespians can pull that off. Good actors can do drama and comedy, but Nielsen was like the template for TV drama, and, then he dusted everyone Big Time. Quite an accomplishment, really.

Leslie Nielsen always wanted to do comedy. Actors who worked with him said he was quite a cut-up off camera. However he had a serious looking face and serious sounding voice, so he constantly ended up with serious roles. He finally got his chance doing comedy when cast for _Airplane_ . The producers wanted “serious” actors playing goofy parts - Nielsen, Robert Stack, Peter Graves, Lloyd Bridges, etc. Nielsen seized the opportunity and took off from there.

If it has a serial number, as all paper money has so it is more difficult to counterfeit, then it is traceable, because the serial number is unique.

i allways wondered if that worked, like you actually cover the speaking part with a piece of cloth and it changes your voice... clearly not like here cause Nielsen got that high tech hankechief
